In-Game ManualThe in-game manual has been overhauled to cover everything from the controls to reading your orbit. The same manual opens from both the Mission Control Center and the Vehicle Assembly Building. It is available in 11 languages and works without an internet connection.Lifting Off Again from the MoonA spacecraft that has landed on the Moon can now light its engine and lift off again.Attitude control (SAS) just before touchdown has been improved — your spacecraft no longer flips around while braking.Thrust-to-weight ratio (TWR) is now measured against the gravity of the body you are at; on the Moon the value is about six times higher.LocalizationUntranslated and mistranslated text on the title screen and the main screen has been reviewed across all 11 languages.- Translated the title screen, the settings, the save slot list, the right-hand panel on the main screen, and the Contr…
- Monthly Report July 2026 - 1 August 2026
Thank you for your continued support of “Keplerian Space Discovery.”Here is an update on our progress in July and our goals for August.July ProgressWe’ve implemented detailed terrain display when approaching the moon’s surface, and landing is now possible. While some adjustments are still needed, we consider this to be significant progress. We’ve also made the terrain at each rocket launch site more realistic. We plan to continue refining this and making updates, such as adding trees, in the future.August GoalsWe will be exhibiting at gamescom, held in Cologne, Germany, from August 26 to 30.Since we’ll be focusing on preparations for the event in August, I don’t expect to make major progress, but I believe we’ll be able to incorporate feedback on improvements such as translations.RoadmapThe roadmap is currently just a list of items and can be difficult to understand, so I’ll add proper exp…

Lunar LandingToday, July 20, 2026, marks the anniversary of Apollo 11’s historic first human landing on the Moon in 1969.To commemorate this event, we’ve made it possible for you to experience a lunar landing.Select “Training” from the debug console to display shortcut buttons that will guide you from lunar orbit to a soft landing on the Moon.Basically, you’ll change your direction using “RETROGRADE,” then adjust engine thrust with the Z and X keys to aim for a lunar landing. Currently, we’ve set the conditions quite leniently: a soft landing is considered successful at speeds below 100 m/s.Here is a video showing the procedure.Ideally, we wanted to implement the ability to land a probe assembled by the player on the lunar surface, but that feature will be added at a later date. Please stay tuned.Lunar Terrain DisplayAs you approach the Moon, detailed terrain features are now displayed.…

Thank you for your continued support of “Keplerian Space Discovery.” Here’s an update on our progress in June and our goals for July.June ProgressWe released two updates in June.I think the most significant improvement was the enhancement of the physics simulation during launch. We’ll continue to release updates, one step at a time.July GoalsWe will continue working on assembling the payload.I hope we can get it into a presentable form sometime in July.We are also making progress on manufacturing new parts, such as solar panel paddles.

Improved ocean renderingWe've improved the way the ocean is rendered, making the area around the horizon look more natural.*Excluding the Tanegashima Space Center and the Uchinoura Space Center (we will address this in the future)Improved camera behavior during stage separationDuring stage separation, the camera now smoothly follows and centers on the upper stage.Improved lunar orbit calculationThe Moon's orbit now reproduces apsidal precession (precession of perigee) and regression of the ascending node, so the lunar orbit evolves more realistically over long periods of time.Performance improvementsWe've reviewed how things are processed and improved the frame rate. Results vary by system, but we achieved roughly a 50% improvement. Our investigation showed that CPU processing was a bottleneck, so we'll continue working on further performance improvements.Bug fixesFixed an issue where c…

Launch Physics ImprovementsThe flight dynamics calculation during launch has been changed from a rotating reference frame to numerical integration in an inertial reference frame. By giving the spacecraft the launch site's rotational velocity as its initial velocity at liftoff, the Coriolis effect and the delta-v bonus from eastward launches are now naturally reproduced through the physics simulation. In addition, the vehicle's center of mass is now calculated, and the vehicle rotates when the thrust vector is offset from the center of mass (thrust torque physics). Along with this, roll control during launch has been added and tuned.Display & Control Improvements- Improved how the trajectory is drawn during launch- Changed SAS attitude control during time acceleration (×10 or higher) to an instant method, improving tracking of the target direction- Improved the behavior of the HORIZONTAL…
- Monthly Report May 2026 - 1 June 2026
Thank you for your continued support of “Keplerian Space Discovery.”Here is an update on our progress in May and our goals for June.May ProgressOne major change we made was switching the calculation of the selected spacecraft’s orbit from using Kepler’s equations to using the equations of motion. As a result, orbits that pass near celestial bodies have become more complex. We believe this change will allow us to incorporate elements such as Lagrange points in the future. We have also improved the part connection mechanics in the Vehicle Assembly Building. There is still room for improvement in this area, so we will continue to refine it.June GoalsIn June, we plan to focus on payload assembly.Currently, we can only launch a dummy payload called VEP-4, but we plan to enable players to launch their own payloads, such as satellites.Payload assembly is essentially the same as the current rocket…

We have fixed an issue where the orbital normal direction was reversed when performing an orbit-matching maneuver. We have added tooltips to the buttons on the spacecraft control panel.
- Ver.2026-05-16 - 16 May 2026
Improvements to Part Connection During Rocket AssemblyWe have improved the behavior when parts connect to each other while \ is turned off.Previously, precise alignment was only possible along the green guidelines, but now precise alignment can be performed anywhere.Improvements to Booster Separation Direction CalculationWe have fixed an issue where the separation direction was incorrect when boosters were separated.Tutorial ImprovementsWe have added tutorial content, including explanations of time acceleration controls.Improvements to Spacecraft Attitude ControlWe have improved the behavior when changing the spacecraft’s attitude using the buttons on the spacecraft attitude control panel (such as “PROGRADE”).Added Tooltips to the Spacecraft Attitude Control PanelWhen you hover your mouse over each button on the spacecraft attitude control panel, a description for that button will now a…

1.Change to Orbit Calculation MethodWe have changed the calculation method for the selected spacecraft’s orbit from using Kepler’s equations to using equations of motion. As a result, orbits passing near celestial bodies become more complex. When in the Earth-Moon system (within Earth’s Sphere of Influence), the gravitational forces of Earth and the Moon are taken into account. When in the solar system (outside Earth’s Sphere of Influence), the gravitational forces of the Sun and the planets/dwarf planets are taken into account.*Sphere of Influence. The region in which a specific celestial body exerts a significant gravitational influence on objects in orbit.2.Change in Manual Display MethodWe have replaced the manual that appears when you click the “?” icon in the lower-right corner of the screen with an HTML-based version. This change has made it easier to update the manual, so we plan to…
- Ver.2026-04-12A - 11 April 2026
We have added a \ button. This fast-forwards the timeline to the point immediately before the SOI changes. However, this feature currently has room for improvement. It may sometimes skip past the exact point where the SOI changes. This is due to inaccuracies in the logic used to calculate the SOI change date and time, and we will address this in future updates. We have improved the orbit calculation logic used when the SOI changes.
