- Project on Hold + "how to avoid scams" - 12 January 2026
Good day to all, I am Aaron, the solo developer behind "TOWST: The One Who Sees Things". I am sorry to say that development for the game is on hold until further notice. I will be moving to a new apartment next month, in February, and right after it still in February or March, I will relocate to a different country. New job, new language, a lot of bureaucracy. It is something me and my wife have been wanting to do for a very long time. Physically, I won't even have my computer with me so it will not be possible for me to continue even if I wanted. This game development journey started for me on the eve of turning 30 years of age, I wanted to make something and also see if it could have an alternative income (since saving money on a non-skilled paycheck is hard), but I never went full in, and I still don't want to "I quit my job to go into gamedev". I have other priorities, this is a pas…
- Update on possible Release date - 9 November 2025
Hello folks. Previously, in (check notes) February 2025, I had mentioned the plan or goal was to release the game within 2025. That was a long time ago, and in the discord I had mentioned a couple of times how it seemed more and more unfeasible. In my focus on developing and playtesting the game I had forgot to make an official announcement on the game page yet. So the next plan or attempt is going to be to release within 2026. The game is currently on version 0.7, playtesting have been underway and various issues has been found but otherwise things are looking good, yet there is still plenty to add, a ton of secrets to insert and hide, and the game currently still lacks an ending. During the next months I would also like to get at least a teaser trailer, and update the game store and game capsules with something closer to what might be the final look. In the meantime, I wish you all a…
- On Steamdeck and Linux compatibility and support - 9 May 2025
Good day everyone, Aaron here. As I prepare to start playtesting using steam (instead of Game Jolt as it has been until now- thank you for your service GJ!), I need to further tackle the checklists for steam and make sure the one I had already taken care of are correct. Among them, and in particular mixed with some previous attempts, there is the topic related to Linux and Steam OS. Despite my good intentions, I am working on the game alone, and there's already a lot of obstacles I am facing in Unreal Engine thanks to my lack of programming and computer literacy. I am just a simple idiot trying to make a game. I had attempted to install some Linux components on my Windows machine to allow me to package the game as a pure Linux build, but I have failed, and thus I will not be officially supporting Linux nor Steamdeck. Official is a key word, because I will still do my best with my time a…
- State of Development and Planned Release - 4 February 2025
Mandatory short introduction Hello, and thank you for being here. I am Aaron "Koss" Parpaiola, the solo developer behind 'TOWST: The One Who Sees Things', writing you from Europe. This is my first game and I have no particular skills in game making or game design, or anything tangentially related to it. The game want to be a love letter to the puzzle and adventure games I love the most, while also adding other themes I find fascinating or make me who I am. I also want to clear any doubt that, despite being a humorous play on words inspired by 'The Looker' (By Bradley Lovell) 'The One Who Sees Things' is somehow taking itself seriously, at least enough to attempt to evoke a lot of feelings and emotions (positive ones, I hope). This, thankfully, does not exclude humor from being present. A tragicomedy, if you will. So what's the state of development? Between highs and lows (mostly the lat…
