Hey racers! 🏁 I'm back with a major update to Saturday Night Racing, focused on player feedback regarding collisions with the AI competitors. The AI have been completely re-worked in weight, power, and impact forces at all tracks. The general feedback the AI cars were "immovable" has been noted. The AI cars will now absorb impacts from the player to provide a more forgiving and fair racing experience.This new update also brings totally overhauled engine sounds and a new visual soft-body damage model for the player car. - Gamepad and Steam Input Update - 11 August 2025
I have made a change to push all controllers into Steam Input by default for Saturday Night Racing. This should alleviate a known issue with input mappings not configuring correctly on some controllers. Gamepad controls will only function in race for driving mechanics at this time - the menus rely on the mouse.If you encounter any issues please list the controller type and symptoms of the issue here. I can only test for controllers that I own and not every possible controller out there.Thank you!

- MAJOR Game Update Released!! - 12 March 2025
Saturday Night Racing has been given an overhaul in its first major update. This update brings a new mode "Saturday Night Thunder" to provide new events, races, and progression along with new content and gameplay enhancements. The new mode Saturday Night Thunder brings several rounds of progression and unlockable events for the player to complete. Each track has a new branded Signature Event, a lengthy race event that will challenge driver endurance. A new Track Champion Showdown mode is available; once the gold lap time is set take on an existing track champion in a 1v1 duel to become the new track champ. In addition to the new modes, the existing target lap time tracking has been expanded to include Bronze, Silver, and Gold lap times for each track. - Hotfix Update 1.0.03 - 19 February 2025
A hotfix has been released. Please continue to report any bugs via the community hub. Fixed an issue on Playstation controllers with incorrect inputs when downshifting. Adjusted the camera when downshifting from Gear 1 to R. Fixed an issue on Ringer Raceway where flood lights around the track were not rendering properly. Fixed an issue where the player was able to pause on the race results screen.

A hotfix has been released to increase casual player accessibility based on player feedback. Please continue to report any bugs via the community hub. Updated camera look back logic to remove the panning effect. Increased range for AI cars to lift for other AI cars. Increased range for AI cars to lift for the Player car. Added a new Grip setting "High". This is now the default setting on initial bootup and can be changed under the Options screen. Updated physics to make the stock car feel "heavier".
- Hotfix Update 1.0.01 - 8 February 2025
A hotfix has been released to address bugs identified by players at launch. Please continue to report any bugs via the community hub. Fixed an issue on Palmetto Superspeedway where if the player selected Rookie difficulty a car would occassionally not properly accelerate off the grid. Fixed an issue with the lap timer function where players could "cheat" the lap time by reversing over the start line. Big thanks to Steam user StOoPiD_U for reporting. Fixed an issue where impact forces between the Player Car and AI Cars could result in a large jolt. These forces have been smoothed out. Set the default steering sensitivity to Low based on player feedback. This can be changed from the Main Menu > Options screen.
