• Progress Update - 10 March 2025

  Making an indie game isn’t just about coding or designing a fun experience. Unfortunately, a lot of time also has to go into marketing, updating pages, building a community of interested players, and much more. Over the past few months, I’ve focused on content creation to help Star Life stand out. A bigger community means more feedback and a stronger launch, so I believe all this effort is worthwhile. I’ve made YouTube Shorts part of my routine and have streamed on Twitch weekly without missing a single session. There’s a lot for me to learn on this front, but as always, discipline and hard work are key. I’ve also been thinking hard about improving the game itself. • First Playtest is over. More to come! - 26 January 2025

  First Playtest ends in several hours. I would like to thank everyone, summarise results and share next steps. 1. Thank you, to every player who decided to give playtest a chance. Special thanks go to those who came to our Discord channel and shared detailed feedback. Be it positive or critical, everything is useful. Positive aspects will be improved further while not so positive will be reworked, and this is the way I hope to maintain my work. 2. I will be honest, results are mixed. I have seen my project further in terms of development stage, while it seems it is not. I appreciate that there were positive thoughts around mechanics which I offer, but core gameplay needs further development and polishing. Not to worry, work is work.   Happy to announce that the playtest for Star Life will be finally launching on Steam next week! This is a fantastic opportunity for you to dive into the very first playtest and support Star Life by giving instrumental feedback. I (Star Life dev) will read every feedback and will respond to it (ways of communication TBD, but likely through Discord). Any critical feedback will be extremely well met, as it will allow me to focus on improving game to ensure the ultimate goal of players getting best experience possible!   Since Steam Page release I was extremely surprised by the amount of people interested in the game. First of all, I would like to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone who has shown support to my project. I do not think many people will read these lines, but it is important for me to say it out loud. Many of you probably already know about playtests. Deadlock is the most notable example where Playtesters actually play game actively as if it was another game in their library and there are even tournaments going on. In simple terms - you get to experience what game is, of course, for free. There are multiple options of how Playtest can be organised, but so far I think I will do this: 1. Compile a full build of the game (not a demo or prologue) but remove unbalanced or unfinished parts to ensure less "random" experience 2. • Star Life Steam page is live - 21 December 2024

  After several years, I am happy to present you with Steam page of Star Life. Why do we need one? 1. Hopefully, it will be a more tailored and professional communication tool with potentially interested players through a common platform. I still plan to post updates on Discord, but something tells me doing it on Steam is better. 2. Quite soon I hope to start playtests and Steam page is a great place for random players who meet the game for the first to try it and give feedback Being a first game I ever release, there are 2 things which a player can expect: 1. This project is personal, I will make sure to deliver as best and as unique result possible, so that game can be truly enjoyed 2.
