- Demo Update: Tighter survival economy and clearer goals - 20 February 2026
We pushed a new demo update focused on making the strategy clearer and the decisions tighter. What changedSurvival economy is tighterHunger and thirst now create cleaner tradeoffs. Consumption was redesigned so eating and drinking fits the turn-based flow: it is limited per turn and does not lose efficiency. Added Rationing, which can increase the restore amount of raw resources. Echo has a new action set that helps you set up stronger next turns for the Exile, making it easier to hit your goals. Objectives are now clear resource goalsThe “Trial Terms” were redesigned into explicit resource targets you complete through smart land use. Anything you secure in your shelter storage counts toward progress. Tempting deals can offer shortcuts, but they can also awaken the Blood Thief, drawn to greed and looking for its share.Land management now has natural push and pullThe land responds more con…
- One Week After the Demo: Thank You and First Update - 28 November 2025
It has been a week since the demo for Seasons of Solitude went live, so this is a good moment to say a proper thank you and share what has changed.Over the last days hundreds of you stepped into the Exile’s first trials, sent feedback and even joined the Discord. That helped a lot more than you might think.Based on that first wave, we focused on one main area:Clearer tutorial and Echo role Many of you liked the concepts, but the first run through the trial could feel wordy or unclear in places. We have gone through the tutorial and:The tutorial objective flow has been tightened so it better matches how players actually play and learn the basics. The Echo’s role is more direct and easier to read in play. The old “combo” section has been removed from the tutorial and will return later in the full game as a more advanced mechanic.Looking aheadSeasons of Solitude is signed up for Steam Next F…
- Seasons of Solitude demo arrives tomorrow - 20 November 2025
Tomorrow the first public trial of Seasons of Solitude opens. You will step into exile, walk the hand-painted land, and try to keep two simple things in balance: your survival needs and the land that quietly pushes back when you take too much. However its never that easy, right?Steam Playtest signups are now closed. Huge thank you to everyone who jumped in early, broke things, and told honestly what worked and what didn’t. The playtest branch will stay as the place where new content and balance changes land first, before they make their way into the public demo.If you want to be part of ongoing testing and conversations around balance and its features, you’re very welcome in the Discord. That’s where we share early builds and ask for focused feedback:https://discord.gg/eE8beCeKfYWe are looking forward to finally putting this in your hands.
- One Week To Go: Thank You, Playtesters - 14 November 2025
Over the last weeks we have seen a steady inflow of new playtesters. That helped us push Seasons of Solitude to a new level of clarity. Thanks to your feedback we have been:Cleaning up confusing moments and edge casesTightening how the game explains cause and effect on the land Smoothing the early flow so the first trial feels more deliberate and less opaqueThe demo you will play on November 21 is already in a much better state than the earlier playtest builds. It still demands careful planning, but it now does a much better job of showing why the land responds the way it does.To everyone who has filled in a form or quietly tested builds in the background: thank you. Your time is directly shaping how the game feels. If you would like to be there when the demo goes live, please wishlist and follow the game here on Steam. It helps a lot at this stage.— Ninjarithm Studio

- The Story of Exile: A Fight for Survival - 12 February 2025
You once had a place in the world. A home. A tribe. A life built on the unspoken trust that everyone had a role to play. No one could afford to be weak—because weakness, in a world like this, was the difference between survival and extinction. Then, you failed. Maybe it was a moment of hesitation. Maybe it was a choice that, in hindsight, seemed obvious. Maybe it was just bad luck. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that the elders looked at you, weighed the risk, and made their decision. Exile. Not a death sentence, but a test. If you can survive alone, endure the relentless land, and prove your strength, you may be allowed to return. But this land was not chosen at random. It is hostile, untamed, and merciless. It shifts with the seasons, testing not just your body, but your mind. You will scrape by, at first. You will fight to find food, shelter, resources and a way forward. You will…
- Into the Fog: A New Layer of Strategy - 27 December 2024
This month, we’re highlighting a feature that’s transforming exploration in Seasons of Solitude: Fog of War. A World Waiting to Be Discovered In Seasons of Solitude, every step forward uncovers new possibilities—or unexpected challenges. That distant tile might hold vital resources or conceal hidden dangers. Fog of War adds mystery and strategy to every run, making each decision impactful. Exploration in Action What lies beyond the fog? How It Works: 1️⃣ Shrouded Terrain: At the start of each run, the map is cloaked in fog. Exploring reveals resources, hazards, and new paths forward. 2️⃣ Strategic Choices: Moving through the fog costs action points. Will you scout thoroughly or take a risk and dive into the unknown? 3️⃣ Visible Danger: Predators move within the fog, but sharp players can spot clues to avoid—or confront—them. How It Changes Gameplay What’s exciting is that each level in…
