- August 3 2026 Update v1.7.7 - 3 August 2026
It's lucky number update 1.7.7! Too bad we missed 7-7-2026. By about a month. Notable Changes: The Daily Special board gives you a bonus 10% Dough earned on those stages. Plus you can doodle on it. Stage Ghosts can now be individually deleted under the Main Menu Options -> Data tab. The Background toggle also now affects the Main Menu. A bunch of graphical issues have been resolved for Steam Deck. And the usual couple of things under the hood, so please let us know if you happen to hit any problems. 'Till next time.
- June 30 2026 Update v1.7.6 - 30 June 2026
It's hot, so we're all hiding inside. Which means some extra stuff got done, so we've mixed in a couple of new things in here instead of just bug fixes and version parity features. Notable Changes: 5 New Crumb Buster stages. Jelly is too bouncy to break apart the ball, so you'll have to be precise with your aim. 3 new Hairstyles to collect. A couple of shorter ones to beat the heat. New Achievements tab on the Mode Select, and popup whenever you get something. If you've already got any through Steam, it should sync automatically. Linux save dialog box should now work properly, so both Mod Export and Save Data Backup are back on the table. The itch.io version should now show a little popup when a new version is available. Should. We'll find out if it actually works when 1.7.7 comes out. Left a couple more dev info logs and graphical templates for stuff in the file browser to help out any…
- June 15 2026 Update v1.7.5 - 15 June 2026
Another week, another batch of small but oddly specific QoL changes that are definitely not just bugfixes with better press. Notable Changes: Imported mods can now be deleted or exported as their .crescentmod file from the Mod menu. Mods now load on Linux/Steam Deck. Linux/Steam Deck now use an entirely new File Browser for importing mods, as the original would often decide not to show up to work. As always, major thanks to everyone who reports on issues. You're the real MVPs. See you in the next one.
- June 10 2026 Update v1.7.4 - 10 June 2026
Hi again. It's only been a week, but we found some broken stuff. Notable Changes: Fixed an issue where the game would show an error when attempting to open the Tiny Shade Garden on some machines Added the ability to re-name your Shade via the portal (for Steam Deck users, the on-screen keyboard can be forced active by pressing Steam+X together if it doesn't automatically open) Made several adjustments to prevent mods from crashing the game For anyone playing on the Steam Deck, we are also actively investigating a system issue where, if the game is stored on a slow SD card, the sound effects lag at the start and then all play in sequence to 'catch up'. It appears to have no impact on the game performance at all, but can sound rather unpleasant. We are currently looking into a fix. That's it for now. Give us a buzz if anyone bumps into anything else.
- June 3 2026 Update v1.7.3 - 3 June 2026
None of us have been in school for a solid, what, 10 years now? But we still get that sigh of relief every time June rolls around. Notable Changes: "No Snap" option to have the tilt bar stay where it is instead of snapping back to centered if you're using Touch or Mouse controls New Options page for Gyro configuration, with the Steam Deck gyro input now working 100% (and a plethora of options in case you're playing on something else) Mods can now have their data (stages, cosmetics, etc) hidden separately from the existing option for display (menus, character, animation, etc) More modding fixes and additions. Such as individual animated objects can now define custom functions. Which if you know what that is, is pretty neat Drop by the itch.io community sometime when you get the chance. We have a thread there for some official mods while Workshop support is still being worked on. That's i…
- May 5 2026 Update v1.7.2 - 5 May 2026
May the Four- ah, shoot. One day late. Okay then, ¡Felíz Cinco de Mayo! Celebrate with a small monthly update with us (not that we wouldn't do it without a holiday anyway). Notable Changes: New Options page both in-game and on the main menu for Graphics toggles, including Background, Ghost display, as well as options for reduced framerate and resolution for low-power devices New Options page on the main menu for archiving and restoring save data. Not that you couldn't just copy-paste the folders yourself before, but this way handles Steam Cloud sync a little better Significant performance improvements on the Main Menu on certain devices Various fixes and new stuff for mods to use Yup. That's it. As usual, give us a shout if you find a problem or anything. See you in the next update.
- April 2 2026 Update v1.7.1 - 2 April 2026
Hi. Remember that really big change, like, two days ago? Yeah. It broke some stuff. So, we fixed some stuff. Notable Changes: Fixed invisible geometry showing up in some Holiday stages Fixed graphics errors on Steam Deck in Crumb Buster mode Fixed dragging motions being dropped on certain touch screens Fixed an issue where physics were sometimes broken for the first stage of Challenge Mode when Jellied was applied Fixed an issue where balls were sometimes incorrectly offset in Challenge Mode when Double was applied Mods can now be entirely disabled (not even loaded by the game) by adding a file with the exact same name and the ".ignore" extension in the mods folder All good now? Alright. 'Kay. Thanks. Bye.
- The Crumbs and Customs Update - 30 March 2026
It's spring, and the string of beta updates is over - it's time for the real deal. The big one-dot-seven. It's been a long time coming, so let's get to it. New Crumb Buster ModeA new way to play with your food. The field area will fill up with tasty desserts, so take 'em, and fling 'em into each other. Each time they bounce against a wall, it'll shave down a size and earn some points. If you let them sit too long, they'll get stale and impossible to move or break, so plan carefully or it'll overflow and it will be Game Over before you know it.There's 2 worlds and 10 total stages to sample in this initial batch. And just like the other modes, look out for all of the individual weirdness that comes with the environments in each stage. Unlock it by earning a grand total of 3 hearts in Challenge Mode.Modding API is DoneThis one has been in the oven for quite a bit. We're pleased to announce…
- v1.7.0 Beta Preview Now Live - 2 February 2026
Greetings fellow chefs. We've been hard at work in the kitchen, and will have something quite special for all to taste here in just a little bit, but decided that we should probably pop in for a bit of a heads-up for any modders out there that were also cooking stuff up. (Not that you can't read this if you aren't - you probably just won't care that much.) To cut the fat, Version 1.7.0 will contain a significant shift in the modding API that anything other than standard level or cosmetic packs will likely be affected. A lot of the previous menu behaviors were mostly hard-coded to act pretty much how they were shown in Vanilla. In order to make the API more flexible to accomplish some of the new things that we want to add, we ended up re-working the way a lot of interactions were driven. Fortunately, the structure of the json files is identical so nothing needs to be re-made per-say; it'…

Notable Changes:Fixed certain Belts completely malfunctioningFixed various Menu layout oversights for Steam DeckAnd that's that. The full Donuts suite can be tackled, and now that the Thanksgiving courses have been slotted in, the full year of holidays are available too. More Flavor for your TextClick on the Info button under the Equip menu to get a few spare thoughts about your current getup. Is this really front-page-with-a-screenshot news worthy for the update? Probably not. But just having the single section above looked weird all by itself.Other ChangesRuntime has been updated from DotNet 8 to DotNet 10Windows 11 should already have automatically installed the new version, however the game will prompt you to upgrade if it is not present.Linux/Steam Deck users do not need to do anyt…
- The Halloween Update - 31 October 2025
Happy Halloween! The sun is getting low, and soon little monsters will roam the streets, looking to pilfer as much candy as they can. Speaking of little monsters... Visit the Tiny Shade GardenWhat's this? A strange shadow creature? Shades are playful little spirits with not much in the way of brains, but they're cute and friendly enough that we're sure you'll be fine caring for one. Time in the garden passes in real time, so pop in on occasion and feed it a bean or two if you can. They're pretty hardy, so no worries if they need to fend for themselves for a bit. Though, if you do raise it carefully, it might be able to help you out with some things in the near future...Check it out from the new Garden button in the Mode Select menu.New Tricks and TreatsHere's our trick for Halloween - it's all Cookie Jar levels this time around! There's 5 additional slightly spookier-than-usual waiting…
- September 11 2025 Update v1.4.6 - 11 September 2025
Hi there. We're interrupting our usually scheduled programming to bring you something of an emergency patch to fix some flickering issues introduced with the latest Windows 10 and 11 updates. Notable Changes: Fixed flickering issue on Windows - The change made to Windows as part of their September 2025 update that caused the flickering retroactively affects ALL previous versions of Crescent Roll, unfortunately. We highly recommend updating. Not that there's really much of a reason to stay on any of the older versions anyway, but you know. Miscellaneous hangs relating to malformed and incomplete mods fixed Core Mod File Browser added in the Mod => Docs sub-menu - Use it to pull any of the resources used by the game as a template for your own mods. Be sure to read the license agreement for re-distributing assets though, please. Alright, that wraps it up. Please let us know if anyone hits…
- August 18 2025 Update v1.4.5 - 18 August 2025
Well, technically I guess we didn't have to push this update. But it would just be sitting there out on the counter. And then it would get stale. And nobody likes stale stuff. Notable Changes: New preliminary Mod API Interactive Doc available under Options => Mods - Even if you don't ever plan on making your own mod, you should look - it's very fancy. Marvel at its beauty. - The API is considered 'public beta' at this point, which means that installing and using mods is completely 100% safe and supported moving forward with no chance of it harming save data, but any mods made with this specific v1.4.5 API may not be able to be run with future versions v1.5 and beyond without additional modification from the original creator. A bunch of internal improvements for said mod support, as well as other upcoming v1.5 features. Slight reduction in Loading times. Our office will be closed next we…
- August 11 2025 Update v1.4.4 - 11 August 2025
I really don't mind the heat. But honestly, I could do without having to cut the grass every week. What? Oh yeah, patch notes. Notable Changes: Preliminary Mods info menu available under Options to help some community members - Mod API is still considered in Beta state, and certain parts may not be forward-compatible Fixed issue where the 4th of July stages would not load correctly in certain cases Fixed issue with green flash on sluggish GPUs More under-the-hood adjustments in preparation for v1.5 Let us know if you hit any bugs, as always. And with that, peace out.
- August 4 2025 Update v1.4.3 - 4 August 2025
First day of August and the local grocery store has already started sticking out Halloween candy. Don't worry - we'll resist the urge and hold the line here. Notable Changes: New low-gravity Marshmallow Challenges. 2 new Hats added into the mix. More tweaks to ease the suffering in Challenge Mode: - Streak requirements for earning hearts have been lowered - Several extremely difficult challenge sets have been replaced - The time granted for each stage now takes the types of modifiers into account properly - Any changes to the stage now show up during the intro animation before game play begins Initial loading is significantly faster, and should no longer freeze the UI for most machines The game should now show the correct name and icon in the Windows Volume Mixer Alright. Hit us up if you hit any other issues, and we'll patch those up real quick. 'Till next week - toodles.
- July 28 2025 Update v1.4.2 - 28 July 2025
Fancy seeing you here. Me? I live here. Have a cookie- uh, I mean some patch notes: Notable Changes:5 new Orange Tart stages. We may have over-done it on that last one.Fixed issue with Controller/Keyboard input multi-tapping on Menus when the monitor is above 60HzFixed issue where the Large modifier appeared in Challenge Mode stages that could not support itFixed issue where Static interaction didn't take the the size of the ball into account. Yeah, I think that's it. As usual, let us know if something goes wrong. 'Till next time.
- The Ruthless Capitalism Update - 21 July 2025
It's a hot one out there. And in here too - our oven PC has been on non-stop for the past two months getting this update ready. And it's a spicy one:Show your skill in Challenge Mode Standard offerings starting to feel stale? Introducing Challenge Mode! The clock is ticking down, and you have a never-ending stream of randomized special orders to fill with all kinds of strange effects. From shrinking your ball down to encasing it in jelly, each changes how you need to approach every stage. The longer you go, the more Dough you earn and the more coins get added to the stage, but the less time is restored and the more effects get piled on at once. How long can you hang on?We've got three packs hot and ready for everyone to try. You'll have to clear the base stages Vanilla first before you can give the spicier versions a shot, though - either clear them through the normal gameplay menu, or…
- June 6 2025 Update v1.3.2 - 9 June 2025
Don't mind me - just doing a little bit of preliminary maintenance here before the big stuff shows up. Notable Changes: UI Fixes - Back Button on the Main Menu now shows the controller button. Not sure how we missed that one. - Steam Deck should size stuff like the Cookie Jar setup menu correctly now Performance Tweaks - Stage Loading should no longer lag, and be significantly faster on most machines - Main Menu especially should run consistently faster now, especially on Steam Deck - The initial game load will last a little bit longer now. We're working on getting that back down, but had to make a temporary tradeoff to get the rest of the game running more smoothly. Last chance to explicitly purchase specific in-game cosmetics with the Hearts earned on stages, for real this time. The next update is adding a lot of cosmetics, but switches over to a different in-game currency system and…
- The Sweet Bee Update - 26 May 2025
The hazy days of Summer are soon upon us, and that means picnics. And picnics, means bees. And bees, means honey. And you keep honey in jars. See where we're going with this? Probably not. Cookie Jar Mode get an Upgrade A total of 10 individual Cookie Jar stages are now available! Merge the balls together for the ever-elusive king-sized snack in a variety of somewhat inconveniently-shaped-for-storage jars. Also, some of them might be a little sticky with honey. But the hearts earned here can be spent on cosmetics just like the ones in the Main Course mode, so aim for that high score! Please note that a total of 10 recipes need to be cleared in the Main Course mode before Cookie Jar mode is unlocked. I mean, you've gotta bake 'em first. You can't stick Nothing in a cookie jar. Get to New Stuff Faster That extra three seconds of having to sit through the stage setup animation twice if you…
