  • Playtest summary and lots of new stuff! - 25 September 2026

Hi! It's about time to sum up the playtest - what we learned, what we've already done, and what we will do. First of all, thanks for playing, thanks for the feedback, we're all so glad that you had fun. And you helped us a lot.The data I'll share will come from our in-game survey, but also from our Discord, Steam, and from streams and videos on Youtube and their comments sections.Let's start with: how did the playtest go? Our survey had a question: if this was a demo, would you rate it positively or negatively? 78% said positively, 9% negatively, and 13% was unsure. One of the most important aspects was truck handling and feel, and we're happy to say the overall feedback was positive. Combining information from all the driving related questions, about 65 percent said the driving was just right. Around 20 percent wanted small tweaks, and around 15 percent didn't like it.In general, I'd sa…

  • The Playtest is COMPLETE - 21 September 2026

Hello, Truckers! The first playtest for Road Truckers: New Beginning is now complete and disabled. Thank you for playing and for sharing your feedback. Today we start implementing it. We will be back with a bigger, better version of what you've played over the weekend. The upcoming demo will include the same map from the playtest, plus some improvements. The full game will have cities, different kinds of wild areas, more trailers, jobs, customization parts, quests etc.We will share the playtest statistics and takeaways with you later, when we process all the data. As a brief summary: the playtest went great. It's been extremely helpful. We're happy that the majority of players enjoyed the game, and we're excited to see such a positive, fun atmosphere around the playtest.Stay in touch, and wishlist and follow our game so you can see all the updates. Maybe say a word about it on your socia…

  • Playtest so far (more detailed summary will come later) - 19 September 2026

Hey everyone!First of all, thanks A LOT for playing. We're so glad you're having fun. Your feedback is extremely helpful. We've already made some improvements internally but the playtest build will stay the same, without an update. For us, it's more useful if you test one version of the game thoroughly than skim through multiple versions. If you find a more serious problem that persists, for now please try reloading a save. For now we know that:the truck inventory items don't saverain sound volume doesn't change when using sound settingsmission descriptions/pointers will be more preciseflashlight will be addedsome of the road patches bump you too much(fortunately rare) crashesengine could sound more powerfulfeedback regarding brakes, engine and reverse gearand a bunch of other stuffThe engine brake feedback is tricky. I'd say half of you thinks it's too strong, and the other half - not str…

  • The unluckiest game on Gamescom? - 26 August 2026

Hey everyone! It’s like Fate put our team in the crosshairs. First, our Gamescom booth’s organizer withdrew 3 weeks before the event. Then, after last-minute onboarding with a new partner, our decorations got lost. We had to make use of what we have… Which is also the theme of our game. You start with an old, rusty truck and make your way up. Watch this story on Youtube or keep readingRoad Truckers: New Beginning blends truck driving simulation with RPG, so it’s a great match for an event like Gamescom. Being there and seeing all those nicely presented games was awe-inspiring, so imagine our shock when we saw... this. This was our booth. A sad, empty wall. That's how it was supposed to look.Turns out our decorations were lost somewhere between ordering, transport and assembly. This came after our first booth organizer told us he’s not coming to Gamescom after all. We learned about it mayb…

  • Power of Landscapes - 7 August 2026

Hi Truckers! One of the most fascinating aspects of a trucker’s job is the never-ending journey. From city to city, from town to town, trucks are carrying the precious cargo every day, traveling through diverse regions and changing landscapes outside the window. Some time ago we announced that we'd be doing a playtest for Road Truckers. That's the plan! • How we deal with PHYSICS - 27 April 2026

Hey, Truckers! In Road Truckers: New Beginning we wanted our truck to feel responsive on the road. This includes responsiveness to all the bumps you may encounter. That’s why we ensured that all our suspension points work nicely and react to the tiniest obstacles you may come across. You will be able to verify that as soon as in the Driving School, which serves as our basic tutorial. Even the smallest of bumps will make the truck’s axles visibly work. Not just that, the cabin itself sways on the bumps, just like a real truck’s cabin would. This is very much felt in the first-person view as well. This perspective was especially tricky to get right as testers felt that too much cabin sway may be unpleasant to some players. That’s why we introduced different suspension types. By replacing them at a workshop, you will be able to customize the intensity of this effect.Another aspect of physics…

  • A ton of new screenshots + our approach to DLSS - 19 March 2026

Hey everyone! Through the development the game has improved visually so far that we decided to completely replace the screenshots on Steam. All of them showcase the game in its current visuals. Our goal is to have the world dense and varied, with beautiful lighting. View the gallery on the game’s page to see all of them, here are just a couple of highlights. We were also super happy to see TeleMenace’s overview of Road Truckers: New Beginning on his YouTube channel. Finally, all the commotion about DLSS 5 is also a good opportunity to talk about our approach to optimization and the use of upscalers. Long story short: we don’t have DLSS implemented yet. We will add DLSS, but only after we complete our optimization. Our goal is to have the game run well natively, and then add upscaling as an option to make it even smoother if you choose so. It’s a great technology, but we want to use it a…

  • Big Update! See how the game grew and took shape - 7 February 2026

Hey everyone! This is another BIG dev update. The game’s evolving and… Well, just look below. So many features from our "to do" list are not ticked off - and it feels very satisfying. August 2025 vs February 2026 Take a look at the same location, August 2025 vs February 2026. We’ve been building our world and we’re not done yet! We want to deliver a beautiful, epic & expansive experience. AI / Mirrors - rendering methods testOne of the key factors of the game feeling right are mirrors. We are testing a couple of rendering methods to find the one that looks best and also isn’t too heavy on your hardware. It’s likely we’ll simply give you a choice which to use. Each has its advantages (such as computing power use) and disadvantages (more or less detailed look). In the gif below, each cut shows a different rendering method. At the same time, our world starts being more and more alive thanks…

  • Happy trucking Holidays and a fantastic New Year! - 25 December 2025

Truckers, it’s this time of year again. A bit cold, a bit rushed in preparations, a bit whimsical. Time to whip up some hot chocolate, put on that Holiday romance movie you’ve watched at least 10 times already and cuddle your cat. Or a dog. Or a miniature truck model, who are we to judge?Everyone, have a very merry Christmas/Holidays and a happy trucking New Year! May it be your best one yet.See you soon!

  • Xmas Devlog: the roads behind and ahead in a big, B I G world - 22 December 2025

Hi there, Merry Xmas, and a Happy New Year! What a year that's been. As a team, we've brought Road Truckers from a very early alpha to quite near beta. We now have the full main story mode, all trucks and customization parts we wanted, tons of locations that look, dare I say, quite well. Also: wheel support, controller support... Still, there are a couple of things to finish up. We need to add mouse steering, window leaning and mirrors, and finish up the remaining parts of the world. There's also some sound work and optimization passes, but all in all, we're closer and closer to tying everything up, so far on schedule.Meanwhile, we've been supporting – as widely as we possibly can – our first game, Alaskan Road Truckers, which became our learning experience that made Road Truckers: New Beginning possible. Recently, when asked by players, we measured and compared the maps, and it seems t…
