  Hedge Fund Manager is going to undergo a significant shift in direction: we’re making the game free. This change will roll out over the coming weeks.Free players will have access to all features of the game, with one exception: short selling. To short stocks, you’ll need the new “Pro Trader” DLC. Everyone who has previously purchased the game will automatically receive the DLC when we transition.The Pro Trader DLC will also work as a kind of supporter pack, since there’s no other monetization in the game.Honestly, this is probably how we should have released the game from the start.   After a fiasco of a launch, we have worked hard these past weeks to make the game what it should have been on day one. Plenty has happened. Among other things, the back end should now be much more resilient against errors.If you have been active, you have certainly noticed. • Some Trading Misses Lately - 20 November 2025

  As some of you have noticed, we have still experienced some technical difficulties and missed some trading events. The upcoming larger update will make the system much more resilient.Ideally, these errors would never occur, or at most once per year. This has been unacceptable, and we know it.Once the game leaves early access, it must be rock solid. However, we should reach that point much sooner and we will do everything we can to make it happen.While the next update will focus primarily on the user interface and reliability, some new features are also coming soon.The option to pay leaving investors "cash first" is coming in the next update.You can soon write a short, free-form text to your fund that will be visible on the web card and in-game.You will be able to customize the number of top holdings shown on the web card, so you can showcase as much of your fund as you like.

• A rough first week, huh? - 27 October 2025

  Right after launch, we ran into serious server-side issues. Our testing environment didn't trigger these issues, which proved disastrous in actual production use. As a result, the game was virtually unplayable during much of the launch week, and players lost progress and had to restart their Hedge Funds.Does this mean we are total failures in life? Despicable human beings? Unworthy of calling ourselves developers?The answer to these questions is yes.But fear not! After a major overhaul, we’ve made sure this kind of disaster won’t happen again. We’ve added new safeguards so major progress won’t be lost even if server issues occur. We are rolling out significant gameplay improvements over the next couple of weeks. And we are committed to making this the grand, long-term virtual investing saga it deserves to be.Sorry for the rough start. Let the investing journey begin!

• Launch day connectivity issues — status update (Oct 20) - 20 October 2025

  We’re seeing intermittent connection errors that also disrupted some in-game systems. Hopefully, we will have this resolved within a day.There are reports of upstream provider incidents today; we’re investigating whether they contributed. Regardless, the responsibility is ours and we’re rolling out fixes.We’re sorry for the rough launch, and we appreciate your patience.

• Welcome to Day One on the Trading Floor - 20 October 2025
