- Upcoming Bug Fixes - 3 October 2026
Hey everyone! It's been brought to our attention that there are a couple of immersion-breaking, and potentially progression-breaking bugs in the game related to Okko dying. 1) Okko dies and does not respawn properly. 2) Okko has defeated a boss, and still takes a hit, and dies after the boss dies. Depending on how #2 shakes out, such as whether Okko is granted the new Ability after the battle, this could be progression-breaking. We're looking into these issues and will fix them as soon as possible!Thank you for reporting these. Somehow, we didn't encounter them, despite months and months of QA leading up to launch. But I guess that's how these things go sometimes. If you find anything else, please mention it in the Discussions area on Steam, or you can reach out to us on Twitter/X as well. -- FFI Team
- Upcoming Update! - 2 October 2026
Hey everyone! We wanted to update you on what's currently being worked on, based on feedback so far. While we're aware of some small/medium gameplay bugs, first we really want to focus on improving the game's input system and controls customization options, to make playing the game as accessible for as many people as possible.Right now we're working on completely overhauling the way the game handles Steam's Input System, and the way that system interacts with the game's current controls rebinding system. When this is complete, all the Steam Input stuff should work as intended, and the rebinding options for Controller/Gamepad should become more expansive. A nice side effect of all this work is that the game's tutorials should end up simplified in the process as well. This is a BIG update though, and it might take another day or two to complete. Why wasn't this finished in time for launch…
- Fixed Inner Fire Death Soft-Lock Bug - 2 October 2026
Hey everyone! We just fixed a bug where the game would soft-lock if Okko died while the Inner Fire ability was being used. Sorry for any frustration this might have caused! (As if things weren't challenging enough towards the end, right?!) We'll keep combing through the Discussion threads and checking online for other stuff we gotta fix. Thanks for all the support and feedback! -- FFI Team
- Control Stick & Steam Input Hotfix! - 1 October 2026
Hey everyone! We just patched the game to fix issues players were having with the left control stick for moving Okko, and also double-input issues related to Steam Input fighting our native input handler. Details: 1) Some players were reporting that the left control stick for controlling Okko was kinda horrible because the Up/Down/Left/Right movement wasn't sensitive enough and/or was programmed wrong, which made moving and bouncing and all that pretty much unplayable. That has been fixed! While the left control stick will never be as precise as the D-Pad for a game like this, now, the stick's functionality should be on par with other games that give this option for movement. That said, if you're still having issues with it, please let us know, and we'll keep working on it. 2) When playing with non-Xbox controllers, Steam Input was causing double-inputs, which was making the game unplay…
- Incoming Patch! (Double Controller Input, Etc.) - 1 October 2026
EDIT: The patch is live! Original message is as follows: Hey everyone! First off, thank you for your support and feedback during the game’s launch! We spent a LOT of time polishing up the game before launch, but still, some issues seem to have slipped past us! (AHHHH!) We’re aware that some players have been reporting controller input bugs when using certain controllers to play the game (double-input specifically), and we’re working on a fix. For now, you can follow the instructions in the Discussions thread, which covers how to disable Steam Input, which should temporarily resolve the issue. We’ve also gotten reports of some other small bugs— one related to a crash when spamming certain buttons at certain times, and the other possibly related to Okko dying with 0 gems in certain levels. We’re gonna fix al this stuff up! We’re super proud and passionate about the game and want the exper…

- Okko The Exiled May 2026 Development Update - 16 May 2026
Hey, everyone! We’re halfway through May and getting closer and closer to completing production on “Okko The Exiled”, so we wanted to post an update on where we’re at.Right now the game is about 95% playable from start to finish. We’re still missing a couple of cutscenes, some music and sound effects, and on the programming side, there’s still a lot of polish that needs to be done. That said, the core experience is complete and the game is soooooo much fun! We’ve completed all the enemies (including bosses), all the levels are finished, all of Okko’s combat abilities are done, and so much more.Having finally experienced the game’s full story, side content, and everything in between, I’m super proud of what our dev team of 3 has pulled off! The story is surprising, the boss battles are epic, the music is S-tier, the gameplay is super fun, and we can’t wait for everyone to experience what…
- Okko's End-Of-Year Update - 22 November 2025
Hey everyone! We’re getting close to the end of the year, so we wanted to share a quick Okko The Exiled progress update with you.The TLDR is that development on the game is going SUPER smooth! We recently hit a huge internal milestone by completing development on the game’s core set of levels, and we’re currently working on some late-game content! That said, we still have a chunk of work to do before the game is complete. Making sure the game is super epic, as fun as possible, and polished, takes time.We still don’t have an exact release date for Okko, but we can’t see why it wouldn’t release on Steam sometime in the first part of 2026.Thanks as always for your patience and support!Happy Holidays! — FFI Team

We're actively working on the rest of the game, implementing changes based on feedback, and shaping the experience into something super fun and incredibly epic!As development continues, and we get closer to launch, we'll be sure to update you on plans for another demo. (Ideally a demo where progress carries over into the full game.) Thank you for your support, feedback, and interest in the game! – FFI Team
- More Demo Bug Fixes - 2 July 2025
Hey everyone! We updated the Okko The Exiled Demo... AGAIN! With just under a month left to play it, we wanted to polish up a few extra things. Worth noting– bigger updates/changes related to core gameplay, accessibility, etc., will not appear in the demo, as those updates will take longer and have broader effects on the development of the game. Meaning, if there are any more demo updates before the end of July, they'll also be small. The Patch Notes for this update are as follows:Added new sound effects for the Mushroom Enemy. Fixed an animation sync issue with the mercenaries in The Old Throne. Fixed a Gem Counter UI issue related to looting small gems right after looting a big gem. Fixed a Gem Counter UI issue where Okko's gem UI would not update properly after spending money at the shops. Fixed a gameplay/UI bug combo that would allow Okko to buy potions even if he already had the ma…
- New Swimming Animation And Other Fixes - 19 June 2025
Hey everyone! We just updated the demo again. It's a small update, but we couldn't wait to show off Okko's new swimming animation!Patch Notes:Updated Okko's swimming animation! Fixed a typo in the Tutorial dialogue. Fixed a bug with the "Laser" in The Old Throne. Updated the sound effect for when Okko hits an object, with good Heartbeat Timing, but Focus Mode is turned off.Fixed a bug where, if Okko deflected a fireball upwards, it would not rotate up.Also, we wanted to let you know that the Okko The Exiled Demo will be live on Steam through July 31st. (Meaning it'll become inactive/unavailable on August 1st.) We'll remind you again when we get closer to the deactivation date. We've already started planning a new and improved demo, which would go live closer to launch, where save data carries over to the full game. We'll have more news about that in the future. Thanks for the support!–F…
- Demo Staying Up A Bit Longer - 16 June 2025
Hey everyone! First off, thank you for making the "Okko The Exiled Demo" a huge success! The demo has been downloaded thousands of times and it's been played thousands of times as well! You're blowing our minds! Also, thanks for all the feedback via the game's Community Hub, email, and everywhere else you've reached out! The short of this post is that the demo has to come down at some point, but we're leaving it up a bit longer, so even more people have a chance to discover/play the game. Our data shows that a lot of people have downloaded the demo, but still haven't taken it for a spin. This could be for any number of reasons. Because of this, we're going to leave the demo "active" for a bit longer, and we'll do a post here and on Socials giving a heads up before it comes down. In case you're unaware, when the demo becomes inactive, you won't be able to launch it anymore, even if you'v…
- Updated OST And Other Minor Fixes - 13 June 2025
Hey everyone! As we head into the final weekend of June's Next Fest 2025, we wanted to update the demo one more time. Patch notes:Made further improvements to the game's soundtrack, to ensure consistent music volume levels throughout the demo. Replaced certain sound effects and updated others. Updated Okko's Bounce-Attack animation (again). Fixed a bug with a golem in level 1, where it would path too close to the water's edge on its own. (We still have to fix that area up a bit more, so this was kind of a hot fix.)Adjusted a few tiles. Thanks as always! – FFI Team
- Updated Combo Attack, New Sounds, And More - 9 June 2025
Hey everyone! Happy Steam Next Fest Day 1! We updated the Okko demo again, to improve combat a bit, add new sounds, and make some other tweaks as well. Patch Notes:Updated Okko's Combo and Launch Attack "Swing Effect" animations and collision boxes, to make combo-ing a bit easier. Now, the colliders on these attacks are roughly the same size/distance away from Okko's body as his normal attack is, making combos feel a bit better when judging attack distance from enemies. Updated Okko's Bounce-Attack animation. Updated various sounds! You might notice new sounds for looting HP skulls/bones, potions, and a way more ominous sound when the guardian boss makes the bounce-skulls appear. (iykyk) "NO" is now the first/top option when choosing to exit a level via a checkpoint. Added a "Demo progress is NOT saved" disclaimer to the title screen after choosing Start Game. Tweaked a few tiles in a c…
- Audio Remix And Small Bug Fixes - 6 June 2025
Hey everyone! We patched the demo again! This time our focus was on audio and small bug fixes.Patch Notes:Remixed sound design. The demo's sound design has been completely remixed, so it should sound more balanced and professional compared to previous builds. Okko's "knock-back" when hitting enemies and other objects has been cut in half. This should make combo-ing easier. We'll keep an eye out for additional feedback regarding this. We wanted to lower the knock-back amount before potentially getting rid of it entirely, because we like how it adds a sense of weight to Okko's attacks. Fixed small miscellaneous bugs. Additional info on the demo's sound:Currently, the demo's sound effects are a fusion of "final" and "temporary" sounds. As some of you might be aware, our sound designer (who also composes Okko's soundtrack) only recently joined the team in the Sound Designer position. Becaus…
- Demo Audio Update Incoming - 5 June 2025
Hey everyone! We wanted to let you know that another Demo Update is in the works! This next update will include a completely redone audio mix and some small bug fixes. It should be ready tomorrow (June 6th, 2025). We've also been combing through all the feedback and already have a lot of plans to address many of the bigger issues in the full version of the game. Thanks as always! –FFI Team
- Controls Update and Small Fixes - 2 June 2025
Hey everyone! This is a small QOL update of sorts. The Patch Notes are as follows: Gamepad now works for game menus. (Previously it only worked for Okko's movement). When playing on a gamepad, and/or are now used to "Interact" with NPCs and the Checkpoints (when using the Checkpoints to access the World Map.) This is to further prevent players from accidentally firing off projectiles when interacting with those types of objects in the game world. Added an extra Bounce-Skull to Level 2, to make one of the jumps easier. Adjusted the height of a couple of moving platforms that hover above the water in Level 1, to prevent an audio bug that happened if Okko repeatedly scraped against the top of the moving platform. Extended the ground in an early-ish part of Level 1 to make the jump more fair. (Prior to this update, you almost had to rely on "Coyote Time" to pull off the jump, which wasn't t…
