- Small Things That Make Ethereal Less Annoying - 10 May 2026
Small update this week while we work on some larger changes in the background. This one is mostly about the smaller stuff that makes the game easier to read, easier to share, and hopefully a little less annoying to play. Not every update needs to be a giant new system. Sometimes the important work is making sure the game tells you what is happening before it quietly ruins your day.Read the full blog here:https://etherealcos.com/news/small-things-that-make-the-game-less-annoyingMinions Now Tell You When They Hate YouWe added a new visual effect for when minions are aggro’d onto you. That is a fancy way of saying: when minions decide you are the problem, the game now does a better job telling you.The effect is meant to be subtle. We do not want every minion interaction to look like a fireworks show, but we also do not want players getting chunked by minions and wondering why these tiny lane…

April Dev Update Is LiveWe pushed forward in a few areas that actually change how the game feels, and we stalled in one that’s pretty visible.Map clarity and traversal got real improvements. Bots and combat feedback are in a better spot. UI is still behind where it should be, even though the groundwork is finally in place. It’s a mixed update, but a useful one.If you want the full breakdown, context, and what we’re aiming for next month, watch it here:Watch the Developer UpdateAs always, feedback matters more than you think.
- Combat Feel & Map Clarity - 17 April 2026
We just published a new dev blog focused on improving how the game feels to play and how clearly you can understand what’s happening during matches. This update is less about big flashy features and more about the moment-to-moment experience. What’s NewMelee Hitstop (Basic Attacks) We’ve added hitstop to melee basic attacks. When an attack connects, there’s a very slight pause to give the hit more impact.Hits feel less floatyEasier to tell when you land vs missStill being tuned to avoid feeling slow or clunkyReal-Time Portals (v1) You can now see what’s happening on the other side of a portal before going through it.Check fights before committingSee enemy positioningMake decisions with actual information instead of guessingWhat’s next: We’re working on improving how portals feel to travel through, with smoother transitions and less visual/movement friction.Kahlea Kit Changes We’ve made ad…
- Ethereal Is Now on STEAM! - 10 April 2026
The Steam Page Is LiveOur Steam page for Ethereal: Clash of Souls is officially live.Quick note — this took about a week longer than we expected. We assumed it was as simple as hitting “go live,” but Steam reviews each store page before it’s published. Lesson learned there. Why This MattersThis is the first real public home for the game. It’s where new players will discover Ethereal, understand what it is, and decide if it’s something they want to follow. If you want to support the project, the best thing you can do right now is wishlist the game. Steam uses wishlist activity to decide how much visibility a game gets, so every single one makes a difference. What’s NextOur focus is getting the game ready for Early Access on Steam first. After that, the plan is to expand to other platforms like Epic Games Store, with a console release following sometime after Early Access. If you’ve been f…
