- Update 1.9.1 - Guard Improvements, Network Changes & Bug Fixes - 10 September 2026
Greetings Thieves,Here's a small but needed update to fix a few lingering issues that have been sitting in my backlog for some time, along with some tweaks, improvements and fixes to newer content.Gameplay:Improved enemy AI patrolling and pathing to stop random spinning around and snapping to positions. All enemy AI should now more or less telegraph when they are going to move by physically sweeping towards the location they intend to move to.Added better handling of packet loss to reduce rubber banding when playing Multiplayer.Improved the end of round screen to fix some alignment issues during the breakdown.Improved Guards' alertness when setting up the drill on the Ledger Of Lies finale heist. Previously, they'd be alerted but wouldn't really pose much of a threat. They'll now go and investigate the source of the sound more thoroughly across all difficulties.Added more sound variatio…
- Update 1.9 – New Contract, New Curses & More - 8 August 2026
Greetings Thieves,I hope you are all doing well! I'm happy to say Cloak And Coin has another brand new update available for you all to try out! Update 1.9 is now available for download and includes a lot of changes that are finally ready for you all to experience, starting with arguably the most exciting one:New Contract: Mind Over MetalA previously abandoned dwarven forge deep in the mountains has been given new life in order to begin the production of prototype Sentinels, designed from the ground up to put an end to the Thieves Guild. It's your job to infiltrate the forge and steal the prototype before development can continue.I really love this new contract and its general theming and design. As a big fan of dwarves as a whole, I wanted to do my own spin on what I imagine when I hear the words: Dwarven Forge.Mind Over Metal is now available in both Career Mode across all difficulties…
- Update 1.8.1 - Partial Controller Support & Quality of Life Changes - 11 July 2026
Greetings Thieves,I have a smaller update for you that was born out of wanting to tackle some of the outstanding bugs that have been reported to me over the past few weeks, while also sneaking in a handful of larger quality of life improvements that I hope you'll all enjoy. One of the biggest additions in this update is the first pass at controller support. This has been something I've wanted to implement for a while, and while it's not quite finished yet, the foundations are now in place. Alongside that, I've continued tweaking Guard balance, expanded the Curse pool in Career Mode, and fixed a number of issues that have been reported by the community.Gameplay:Added partial controller/gamepad support. All in-game gameplay actions should now work natively by plugging in an Xbox controller (or by emulating one). Menu navigation isn't quite finished yet as it requires a surprising amount of…
- Update 1.8 – Brewing Troubles Reworked, UI Improvements & More - 25 June 2026
Greetings Thieves,I hope you are all surviving the hot summer months. I know I certainly am not.But in Update 1.8, you can cool off with a snowy rework of the Brewing Troubles contract, along with more gameplay and balance tweaks, plus a handful of quality-of-life improvements to get Cloak And Coin that little bit closer to a full release!Re-Worked Contract: Brewing TroublesWhile playing Cloak And Coin with some of you and in a few small testing circles, I noticed a troubling (see what I did there?) trend with the Brewing Troubles contract: nobody was playing it.The general vibe I got was that players found the layout confusing and the difficulty a little too punishing. So I went back to the drawing board and reworked the map into something I'm much happier with. Introducing Brewing Troubles 2.0:The objective stays the same but I have changed the mission briefing ever so slightly:Deep in…
- Update 1.7 – Better Guards, Seamless Shops & Gameplay Improvements - 30 May 2026
Greetings Thieves,I hope you’re all having a great start to your summer. I’ve been hard at work on Update 1.7, focusing on some long-standing gameplay improvements that many of you have been asking for.For this update, I really wanted to focus on some long-standing gameplay improvements and feedback that many of you have been requesting for quite some time.So without any further ado, let’s get into Update 1.7 and everything it brings.Improvements: Guard Patrolling & Difficulty ScalingAfter reviewing gameplay sessions across different difficulties, I noticed that players on higher difficulties generally seemed more engaged with Cloak And Coin’s core gameplay systems.A large part of this appears to come from the additional pressure introduced through tougher Guard behaviour and Curses, which naturally create more unpredictable situations during Contracts. For Update 1.7, I wanted to improv…
- Update Patch Notes: Version 1.6.1 - 12 May 2026
Greetings Thieves,Following the large Update 1.6, I wanted to focus on fixing bugs and adding a few new features that weren’t quite ready in time for the launch of 1.6.Thank you all for the recent feedback on the new Finale, as well as everyone who has taken the time to report bugs they’ve encountered. With that out of the way, let’s get onto the patch notes!Gameplay:Added the new Alarm Kit, which pings any enemy AI that enters a specific area. Perfect for those of you chasing Ghost bonuses.Added four new unlockable achievements and titles: Usurper, Royal Auditor, Gold Hoarder, and Hoarder of Fortune.Added a new “Reset Keybindings” option within the Keyboard & Mouse settings page.Added new tutorial tooltips for the Drill Parts and Book of the Damned items.Added new ping sound effect for better clarity and feedback.Bug fixes:Fixed a bug where sometimes Career mode would not end when the…
- Update 1.6 – New Finale Heist & Complete Equipment Rework - 27 April 2026
Greetings Thieves,Apologies for the lack of posts this month, it’s been a busy one. I’ve been going through feedback and implementing features I’ve wanted to add for a long time. This is shaping up to be one of the larger updates since Cloak And Coin’s early-access launch.Let’s dive straight into what’s new.New Finale heist: Ledger Of LiesExpanding the finale heists in Cloak And Coin is something I’ve wanted to tackle for a while. With this update, I finally had the chance to sit down and properly design a heist that feels both engaging and meaningfully different from what’s already in the game.Ledger of Lies is a classic bank heist that puts you and your crew in a tough spot. Your goal: uncover the Master of Coin’s ledgers and expose corruption too large for the Crown to ignore. You’ll need to locate the drill parts, assemble it, fuel it, and secure the incriminating ledgers, all under…
- Update 1.5 – New Pinging System & Fixes - 5 April 2026
Greetings Thieves,I’ve had some great feedback from the community recently around new features, gameplay improvements, and bug fixes. I originally wanted to hold off on pushing another patch until the new super secret contract was finished, but realistically some of these changes are just better for the overall health of the game.So instead of waiting, I’ve put together a smaller patch to get these improvements out sooner.New Feature: Enemy PingingThis one’s been a long time coming. You can now ping enemy NPCs across all contracts. It’s something that’s pretty much a staple in the genre, and it always felt like a missing piece in Cloak And Coin.Pinged enemies will have an icon appear above their heads for 10 seconds, visible to all players, even through walls. My hope here is that this helps both solo players and teams coordinate better, and makes it easier to learn patrol routes for thos…
- Update Patch Notes: Version 1.4.1 - 27 March 2026
Greetings Thieves,I’ve spent a bit of time recently watching some of you playing Cloak And Coin over on Twitch, and it’s been so fun to see. It’s one thing building the game in isolation, but seeing people actually enjoy it, figure things out, and even struggle with some of the mechanics is really insightful from a developers perspective. This is a small patch to address some of the early issues reported since Update 1.4. Thanks to everyone who took the time to send in bug reports and feedback as always.Gameplay:Added a new feature to dynamically extend Interaction widget based on text length.Drastically reduced Wraith's movement speed to better align with intended enemy.Increase Wraith's audio cue timings to ever 3 seconds to give Players better awareness of when the Wraith is close by.Adjusted the parkour jumping puzzle in the Rogues Den to make it a bit less unforgiving and irritating…
- Update 1.4 – New Contract And Improvements - 20 March 2026
Greetings Thieves,Another month, another update. This one brings a brand new contract alongside a handful of quality of life improvements that should make things feel smoother across the board.Introducing a new contract available on all difficulties: By The Books. Your job is simple on paper, break in and steal a rare Grimoire. It’s a tighter, more contained contract, perfect if you’re after something a bit more focused without losing that classic heist feel.I’m really happy with how this one turned out. I’ve always had a soft spot for big, old libraries, so this was a fun one to build out.Alongside the new contract, I’ve been putting time into improving the overall feedback loop. The goal is to make contracts feel fun and rewarding no matter what difficulty you’re playing on. There’s still more to come here, and I’m hoping it won’t be too long before I can share something a bit bigger t…
- Update Patch Notes: Version 1.3.1 - 28 February 2026
Greetings Thieves,This one is a slightly smaller patch, focused mainly on a few gameplay tweaks and some bug fixes that have been coming up through community feedback. As always, thank you for the reports and suggestions.Gameplay:Added the ability to toggle a new Reticle on your HUD. Based on recent feedback, this should help newer players get comfortable faster, and also assist players who experience motion sickness while playing. You can access this from the Gameplay setttings menu.Added new Curse: Royal Guards. These Guards act as elite variants of regular Guards and will actively hunt down players. Once the Curse is active on a contract, they can spawn randomly and apply constant pressure.Added new preview feature for Contract Maker. Allowing you to see a contract preview, including description and objectives, before selecting a contract.Added new lootable: Iron Ingot. A slightly le…
- Update 1.3 – Mimic Chests & Career Mode Overhaul - 8 February 2026
Greetings Thieves,I hope you are all doing well. I’ve been busy working behind the scenes to rework and polish some of the existing features in Cloak And Coin. The main focus for this update was getting Career Mode closer to how I originally envisioned it when I first started working on the game.Rather than just fixing issues as they appear, my focus has shifted toward refining the experience as a whole, smoothing rough edges, improving clarity, and making sure the game better explains itself to new players.Mimic Chests CurseSomething I’ve wanted to tackle for quite some time is adding Mimic Chests to the world of Cloak And Coin. I really love the idea of chests that may… or may not… try to eat you.I’m proud to announce that Mimic Chests have now been added to the Curse pool for all difficulties in Career Mode going forward. When the Mimic Chests curse is active, it won’t directly punish…
- Update Patch Notes: Version 1.2.2 - 20 January 2026
Greetings Thieves,I’m continuing my focus on improving Cloak And Coin’s moment to moment gameplay, alongside a handful of quality-of-life changes aimed at making it easier to jump in, group up, and get playing.Gameplay:Added variable Guard hunting behaviour based on difficulty scaling. On lower difficulties, Guards will now have a harder time tracking you once a hunt begins.Rebalanced Guard sprint speeds across all difficulties, making it easier to break line of sight and escape chases.Added a Team Lives counter to the Pause menu for better awareness during contract.Added the ability to invite friends directly to your current lobby via the My Group menu in the Pause menu.Tweaked Guard patrol paths on the Jewels of the Trade contract to improve overall level flow.Reduced the cost of all currently available cosmetic items in the Rogues Den.Bug fixes:Fixed an issue where Players could inte…
- Update Patch Notes: Version 1.2.1 - 7 January 2026
Greetings Thieves,I’ve been actively reading your feedback, and for those of you creating content around Cloak And Coin, I’ve also been keeping a close eye on your streams, shorts, and clips to see where the game can improve. As with recent updates, this patch is very much focused on overall game health. tightening balance, fixing issues, and refining the core experience before moving on to larger content drops. Gameplay:Improved AI collision tracing and pathing across all existing contracts. I’ll continue tinkering with this until I’m fully happy with how the AI behaves.Expanded the random radius that Guard AI uses when searching for players, making encounters a little more forgiving overall.Rebalanced all Vault Key spawns on the Jewels of the Trade contract. Some of the previous placements were a little too obvious for my liking, so they’ve been spread out more evenly.Expanded the Let…
- Update 1.2 - New Contract: Jewels Of The Trade - 3 January 2026
Greetings Thieves,I wanted to start by wishing you all a Happy New Year! I hope you were able to spend some time with your loved ones, and if you’re anything like me, I hope you managed to get some much-needed rest along the way.Update 1.2 for Cloak And Coin is now live and officially marks the end of the 2025 Yuletide seasonal event. As I mentioned in a prior update, my main focus at the moment is improving the overall stability of the game. This includes bug fixes and balance changes to ensure players get the best experience possible while playing. That said, I also know that you avid thieves are always hungry for more content, so I’m proud to say that the first new Early Access contract is now available for you all to tackle.New Contract - Jewels Of The TradeA smaller, more stealth-focused heist set in the heart of Clock Wharf, loosely inspired by Victorian London, with suitably gloomy…
- Update Patch Notes: Version 1.1.3 - 17 December 2025
Greetings Thieves,This update focuses on resolving some of the reported bugs and improving the overall health and balance of the game. More content is already in the pipeline, but for now I believe it’s best to continue polishing the core gameplay experience and ensuring it feels as solid and fair as possible.Gameplay:Re-balanced Guard patrol paths on the following contracts: Golden Tides, Bone Museum, and Brewing Troubles. These contracts should now feel a little more forgiving, giving Players more breathing room to navigate areas where Guard patrols previously felt too punishing.Decreased the alarm raised multiplier deduction from 0.2 to 0.15.Increased the bonus objective completion multiplier to 0.6, ensuring there is always a worthwhile reward for completing the bonus objective.Updated Dynamite’s equipment description to clearly state that it can be used on Locked Doors and Safes.Bu…

- Winter Comes to the Rogues’ Den - Yuletide Seasonal Event - 10 December 2025
Greetings Thieves,All is calm. All is quiet. All is ripe for the taking. Yuletide 2025 is here, Cloak And Coin's first official seasonal event. Experience it from the 10th of December until the 3rd of January 2026.With the game fresh into Early Access, I wanted to put together a small event to celebrate the winter season and test the waters with what I can do in terms of limited-time content. I’m a solo developer, so I’m bound by a few constraints, but I still think it’s important to mark these moments properly.New Limited Time Event: YuletideThis event is very much about experimenting and learning what works for seasonal content in Cloak And Coin. It’s small, but it’s festive. The Rogues’ Den has been given a cosy winter makeover, and it should definitely make the drinks at The Iron Stag feel a little warmer this season.Free Yuletide RewardsAs part of this year’s Yuletide event, Thieves…
