Hey everyone! The Steam Next Fest is getting very close now but the release date of the demo even closer! Right now I’m focused 'marketing' and polishing — fixing bugs, improving small details, tweaking balancing (ha. its not there yet), and making sure the nightmare is ready for its first visitors. The demo is almost ready to go live, and I’m really excited to finally let players experience Kiki’s Nightmare for themselves.✨ What’s happening right now?Final demo polishing Lots of small improvements are being made across the game — from gameplay feel and pacing to UI, tutorial flow, and overall presentation.Steam keys are being handed out A small number of keys are going out to testers and creators to help gather feedback before the full public release of the demo.Feedback systems added I’ve also been implementing ways for players to leave feedback directly in-game, which should help shape…

Hey everyone!Exciting times ahead — I’ve hit the opt-in button to release a demo for the upcoming Steam Next Fest 🎉 This demo will give you a first taste of Kiki’s Nightmare, featuring a toned-down version of what’s planned for Early Access. Think of it as a small peek into the nightmare, with plenty more to come later.Speaking of that… Early Access should release shorty after There’s still a lot to do, but things are starting to come together nicely.✨ What’s new?Leaderboard system added You’ll be able to compare your runs with other players — perfect for those who like to optimize routes and shave off seconds.Playtesting feedback implemented I recently ran a small playtest with friends, and their feedback helped smooth out gameplay, pacing, and overall feel. It already plays much better because of it.📢 What’s next?Marketing (yes… it’s time) Spamming people, forums, reddits, workplace…

Hey everyone,Quicky update to confirm that yes — Kiki’s Nightmare is still alive.Winter has been a busy time for Kiki's Nightmare. I don't know why i thought december would have been a possible deadline for steam next fest with all the work that has been done. I'm slightly optimistic, the upcoming steam next fest is doable (sign up deadline is april 27)I've actually made good progress recently. Systems are starting to work. UI is redone so its looks pretty oke/basic. Suprised that my mediocre backing up of the game passed two years still hasnt backfired. (jinxxxx)Its still awesome that i can spend an entire day working on something just to deleted it in the end. So i gues usual development magic is intact. Thanks for your patience while I continue turning “this game breaking bug” into “okay, it works but don’t touch it again.”More updates soon™.

Hi all,Holidays, private life, summer happened! So yeah, I think the two weekly update was maybe a bit too much. Keep falling in the trap to add more to the game which is nice... just not for the planning. Most of the added features arent game breaking, more QoL stuff. Technically irrelevant but still nice. The releaseplanV2 is to have i a playable demo with most of the features start of february. With more exposure during Steam Next Fest later in february. Fingers crossed! Its just sooo much work but Imma do my best!Cheers,Antihero

Hi all,Slight disappointment! My goal of having a reasonably oke demo for the steam-next fest in october is not going to happen. Only three days before the sign-up day for the festival is over. Too much work for too little time. I had good hopes that during the holidays my extra time available would be sufficient, unfortunately it wasn't! Had some friends played the latest version and there was still. again, too much to do. That said, still happy with the progress made but it just isn't enough. -fixed tutorial map for 90% give or take. But you know, 10% is 90% of the work.-added a sprint feature, small extra but needed to give a bit more sense of urgency-changed HUDSee you soon,Antihero

Hi all,Another two weekly update; A slow two weeks. Designing the last area for the demo with a bit of a 'writers block'. But slowly getting the idea's in place. 90% of the work is in the last 10%. Something I read before but it is making more and more sense. A game is never really finished. Regardless, a sort of roadmap. (subject to change) Things to expect for the demo; A leader/scoreboard will be an important part of replay value. Different routes to finish the game but not all routes are doable from the start. Kiki can (dis)approve certain actions which will come back in the final score. Back to work! Antihero

Hi all,More often then not my ideas come when I'm in bed for five minutes. They all seem great, easy to implement and very much vital! More often then not, the next evening is wasted on those idea's and ends on shift-deleting everything I worked on that evening. Usually its one of the following reasons; it's not easy to implement, it's not even fun or just does not work in the game as expected. Just another idea that took an arrow to the knee.Releasing a demo during the october steam next fest is still the plan. That is still a few months away but game dev time flies unfortunately. At that time the demo needs to be fun and at least show where the game is (going) at.It easy to get sidetracked, just as hopefully in the game, but first the base/essentials need to be done. Something I'll try to keep telling myself when I go to bed.Next game-update I'll hopefully can provide a roadmap of som…

Hi all, For all my loyal and not-so-loyal wishlisters, i thought it was time for a small update. Good things first; A lot of progress is made! Bad things too; Still a lot more to do! Its a long road of learning to code in unreal engine but its not impossible. Inefficient, yes fairly. Keeping the game as simple as possible is fairly hard. Its easy to keep adding features which you didnt think of and suddenly want to add. (=learning and more inefficient coding). While I'll try to stick to the deadline for a playable version (downgraded from end product already!) to be available at the steamnext fest in october, there is still lots of work to be done before that. I might ask for some playtesters in the end of summer for the panic coding afterwards. Now back to business again! Antihero
