Updates in this patch: - exe is now a 64bit build - Target lead indicator more accurate - Switching display no longer requires a game restart - Adjusted VR render scale options - Removed redundant options from display options when in VR - Prevented textbox losing focus when entering callsign - Prevented camera lock from being enabled in 3rd person mode - Fixed bug that unlocked all missions when ladder was completed - Fixed bug that would bypass "Patrol" mission under certain conditions - Fixed carrier being jolted by impacts while player is launching - Fixed typos in mission description texts
- 1.2.3 Patch Live Now - 26 February 2026
Aside from bug fixes and some visual polish, I've spent a lot of time on the game's audio effects. Existing sounds effects now sit higher in the mix and many more new sound effects have been added. There's more I'd like to do, but I think it's already a big improvement.Cloud saves are also now live. If you've already played on two devices there will be a conflict, I recommend you play on the device with the most progress first as this is the save that will be uploaded to the cloud. Once you play on your other devices you'll have to resolve the conflict by choosing the cloud version.1.2.2- Sound overhaul- Added weapon impact effects to asteroids- Automated turrets can now fire independently even if master AI has not picked a target (this was rare anyway, but still occasionally possible)- Improved nebula fog rendering- Turret meshes now merge correctly, grouped by material- Changed Steam…
- Alliance Tales: Battle for the Frontier - Demo Available Now - 25 February 2026
Hi Everyone, Just a quick one to let you know the demo for our next game is available now. We'd love for you to try it out! If you enjoy it please wishlist - it really helps with our visibility during Next Fest. You might notice Alliance Tales features a richer soundscape and clearer audio mix. These improvements will be coming to Alliance Peacefighter in the next patch.
- Third Person Update - 19 December 2025
The 1.2.1 Patch is live now! The full changelog is below, but the feature we're most excited about is the new third-person mode. We know a lot of space sim fans prefer the exterior view and we're happy to finally be able to offer it.The game is also 33% off in the Winter Sale, so if you haven't picked the game up yet this will probably be the steepest discount for a while. Thanks to everyone who has bought the game, and if you enjoyed it please leave a review as we're only a few off from that magic 50.Wishing you all happy holidays and a great new year. Updates in this patch:Added third person camera modeAdded VR spectator camera for content creators (disabled by default due to performance cost)Added yaw pedal axis that allows a physical yaw pedal to be used in conjunction with VR virtual controlsAdded positional tracking to OpenTrack support (off by default)Added keybinds for targeting…
- Announcing Alliance Tales: Battle for the Frontier - 6 December 2025
Hi everyone,We're excited to announce our next project - Alliance Tales: Battle for the Frontier. It'll be a standalone mission pack set in the Alliance Peacefighter universe. The campaign will take you on a search for a missing friend while foiling a plot to take over the frontier colonies. It'll be shorter (and cheaper) than Alliance Peacefighter, and while there will be some familiar faces if you have - playing the original game isn't required. If you enjoyed Alliance Peacefighter or like the look of Alliance Tales, please wishlist - it really helps with our visibility as we approach launch.https://store.steampowered.com/app/4212870/Alliance_Tales_Battle_for_the_Frontier/We aren't done with Alliance Peacefighter, these games share a codebase so improvements to one will eventually filter over to the other. The next patch (1.2.1) is coming in the next week or so with bug fixes, polish an…
- 1.2.0 Patch live now - 3 August 2025
Updates in this patch:Updated velocity UI/space dust to improve sense of speed and reduce visual noise (either/both can still be disabled)Reduced the damage inflicted gunships (once they get a bead on you they were a bit too deadly)Fixed collisions affecting the opposite shield quadrantFixed bug where movement speed would default to 0 and prevent locomotion in conversation scenesFixed bug that totally nerfed Bok's AI on "Duel"Fixed bug where missiles launched by player could collide with player shields at launchFixed bug where pause menu would not appear after resetting settings to defaultsFixed bug where changing difficulty during a mission would cause shield UI misbehaveFixed bug where capital ships could come to a stop way too close to each otherFixed on-screen keyboard position when setting player nameFixed Kalon's animation state during the briefing for "Safehouse"Made enemy missil…
- 1.1.6 Patch live now - 2 July 2025
Updates in this patch: Added "Easy" difficulty that sits between "Story Mode" and "Normal." Added "Low" option to "Team Proficiency" for people who felt like AI teammates are doing too much. Team Proficiency now affects aggression as well as skill. Improved VR-Gaze input for power management so the yoke will no longer jump around under certain conditions. Tweaked tractor beam code to ignore player momentum and draw player in more decisively. Added icons to the power controllers to make it clearer what each node represents. Removed VR grip-toggle from Throttle/Joystick (if anyone actually liked this, let me know and I'll add it back as an option) Added throttle mode selector for "Throttle/Stick" behaviour (explanation for this below*). Fixed bug where planetary gravity would still be applied after death/restarting Fixed bug that would occasionally not fire the player "landed" trigger and…
- 1.1.4 Patch live now - 24 June 2025
Updates in this patch: Player's base shield levels increased (explanation for this below) Fixed lateral thruster bug in tutorial Fixed scrollviews not working when the game is paused Removed Gek from briefing in "S.O.S." (he was present despite dialog explicitly stating he's not on board) Regarding the player's base shields: I made a change shortly after launch that improved the collision detection across the player's shield quadrants. This means that enemy fire is more concentrated on any given quadrant, which is correct, and makes shield management more meaningful - but had the unintended side effect of making enemy fire much more deadly as it was no longer being distributed across multiple quadrants. To remedy this I've increased the player's base shields to bring the game's difficulty back down to where it should be. If you felt like you were dying too often, this was probably why.
- 1.1.3 Patch live now - 23 June 2025
Updates in this patch: Exposed button bindings for menu navigation and player locomotion. Fixed button bind menu resetting the selected controller when a control is rebound. Menu scene will now automatically recenter on load (some people were starting in weird places). Navmeshes now clear properly before regenerating - this should solve intermittent locomotion issues. Exit indicator UI now appears after the first conversation is consumed to make it clearer you can leave and start the next mission at any time. Tweaked tractor beam code so that lateral thrusters can't throw you wide of the landing route. Added mouselook in VR (off by default, got to VR > VR Locomotion settings panel to turn on)
- Patch Notes 1.1.1 - 20 June 2025
Completely removed automatic recentering as it was causing issues. The game will now only recenter if the user clicks the recenter button on the menu or recenters in SteamVR. Reinstated the option to reverse Yaw/Roll on the VR joystick. Option to toggle invert VR joystick Y-axis fixed Automatic switching between motion controllers and gamepad/joystick can now be switched off under VR settings, locking to either motion controllers or gamepad/joystick Reduced trigger sensitivity to reduce accidental firing on some controllers If Steam hasn't picked it up yet, restarting Steam should trigger the download. A note for people using PSVR/Pico/SomniumVR1 headsets, I've made some tweaks to the menu setup. Between this and the auto-centering changes I'm hoping the issues with starting in the floor will be resolved. If they aren't, please ensure your playspace is correctly calibrated in SteamVR. I…
- The game is out! - 19 June 2025
Hi everyone, So the game came out yesterday, a massive thanks to everyone that bought it and really appreciate everyone that took the time to leave a review. For the most part people seem to be enjoying the game and I couldn't be happier about that. There have been some issues and I want to reassure everyone that the following will be a priority in the next update: Joystick bindings for UI navigation/locomotion will be exposed and editable Option to swap Yaw/Roll on VR joystick will be returned to the settings menu Option to lock control to either VR motion controllers or gamepads/joystick (automatic switching is causing issues for some people) Centering issues on some VR headsets Intermittent issues with players getting stuck in locations between missionsOnce the major issues have been resolved I'd also like to make the following commonly requested features a priority: Left handed cock…
- New Release Date: 18th June - 4 June 2025
Hi everyone, The game was originally supposed to launch on the 4th of June (today at time of writing), but due to some ongoing issues with Valve Index controllers I've had delay the release for a couple of weeks. The new release date is Wednesday the 18th June. It was a tough decision to make, but the two extra weeks will give me time to fully resolve the issue and add some extra overall polish to the game. We appreciate your patience and want to thank everyone who's wishlisted and spread the word about the game so far, your support means a lot to us. Brad
