Five Nights at Freddy's creator Scott Cawthon has announced he is retiring, just days after a controversy erupted over his past donations to Republican candidates, including Donald Trump . Cawthon confirmed his decision in a statement shared to ScottGames.com , accompanied by Five Nights at Freddy's artwork drawn by an unnamed eight-year-old fan. There's no mention of the controversy in his statement, save for a reference to him receiving support from the LGBTQ community - a nod to the recent criticism faced by him for supporting Republican candidates with broadly anti-LGBTQ stances. Scott Cawthon, creator of the phenomenally popular Five Nights at Freddy's series of horror games (and novels!) has unleashed a veritable heap of new updates on the franchise, including early details of a new "triple-A" game, further news on console ports, and more. First things first (as outlined in a very busy blog update over on Steam ), Cawthon confirmed that the Five Nights at Freddy's console ports, as unveiled in August, are still in the works. Cawthon originally announced console versions of the series back in 2016, only to later cancel them "due to concerns about the deal", so their continued existence this time is encouraging. It's been a while since the long-in-gestation Five Nights at Freddy's movie appeared to be any closer to reaching the big screen, but there finally seems to be movement; Home Alone and Harry Potter director Chris Columbus is now confirmed to be helming the film adaptation. A Five Nights at Freddy's movie was first touted back in 2015, when Warner Bros. revealed that it had acquired the rights to produce a film adaptation of the mindbogglingly popular horror game property. At the time, producer Seth Grahame-Smith said that the studio was looking to make "an insane, terrifying and weirdly adorable movie" in conjunction with original game creator Scott Cawthon. However, in January last year, Cawthon posted to Steam announcing that due to "several delays and roadblocks, some involving problems within the movie industry as a whole", the Five Nights at Freddy's movie was "back at square one."…

A minor update last night plus one more today make up v1.031. There was a mistake on my part which had certain sound effects at incorrect volumes so I fixed that. I also added some new sounds for Springtrap moving throughout the facility.

For those wondering what the new update is all about; I added a fourth star to the game for those who beat Aggressive Nightmare mode! Also, there is some confusion about Springtrap appearing on multiple cameras and people thinking it's a glitch. It's not a glitch, even though I should have explained this better when I released the game. As long as the red light is flashing after a ventilation error, you may see multiple Springtraps. These are hallucinations.

Thanks to some help from Clickteam I've isolated and fixed the problem that was causing the game to randomly crash when starting a level! I'm uploading the patched version now. (1.01) Thanks again to Yves at Clickteam. EDIT: The patch is now live!
