• Low-res Image option for Large Textures and Other Small Fixes - 8 October 2025

  Friends of GC,This version v1.0.5.1 adds fixes for large image texture files, that for some low end hardware, resulted in image not displaying properly. If you see weapon images display as black boxes then you can select to use low-res images on the Home>Settings tab.This update also includes a few fixes and QOL updates. Conjured and allied monsters will no longer be hit by your weapon strikes. Weapon range displays will now more accurately reflect actual weapon ranges in the game. • New Free Mini-Game, Grendel 2048+ Added to Grendel's Cave - 25 June 2025

  Grendel's Cave now includes a new mini-game; Grendel 2048+. This is a plus version of the popular tile merging game 2048, with Grendel's Cave themed tile images and NPC. The plus version includes enhanced play elements given for merging three in a row and four in a row tiles, completing levels and adding points. The enhancing play elements allow you to use a sword to remove a tile, use Mjolnir to remove all tiles of a given type, use an hourglass to switch the position of two tiles on the game board. The great thing about this game is you can earn Steam lives by completing levels or winning the game for use in the main Grendel's Cave adventure game. Alternately, if you have an online Grendel's Cave account and play the online game, you can earn Loot Box Codes for the online game in the new mini-game, if you choose from mini-game's setup. • Grendel and Mother End Game Boss Fights Quicker - 3 June 2025

  Friends of GC, This version v1.0.4.2 makes Grendel much more accessible to fight once you put on a completed amulet. Mother is also quicker to show once Grendel has been killed. • Steam Lives and Premiums - 2 May 2025

  Friends of GC, This new version, v1.0.3.0, adds Steam Lives and in-game Protection from Death Premiums; no online account required You can now earn Lives native to Steam without any need for an external online account. You earn these Lives by killing Grendel, Mother and the Dragon in the various kingdom types. In an Intermediate Kingdom you earn one Life each for killing Grendel, Mother and the Dragon. In an Advanced Kingdom you earn three lives for killing Grendel and one life each for Mother and the Dragon. In a Tournament Kingdom you earn 20 lives for killing Grendel and five lives each for Mother and the Dragon. You can use these Lives for payments for additional abilities on your thanes, or to play in Tournament Kingdom type kingdoms. • Grendel's Cave Steam Integration - 15 April 2025

  Dear friends of GC, This new version of Grendel's Cave adds Steam Achievements and Leaderboards! You can earn achievements for killing Grendel, Mother and the Dragon in Intermediate, Advanced and Tournament type kingdoms, for a total of nine different achievements. I added a points leaderboard for points earned by slaying Grendel, Mother and the Dragon, 1 point for each in an Intermediate kingdom, 2 points each for an Advanced kingdom and 3 points each for a Tournament kingdom. The more you slay, the more points your earn and the higher your place on this leaderboard. I also added a total thane's values leaderboard. Your place on this board is based on the total value of your up to six active thanes. I added a tenth achievement for King of Grendel's Cave. If you have the most points and then the highest thane's value total then you are given the King of GC achievement, which you get to…
