- Dev Update #8 - 21 September 2026
Hey Crew, we're back with some more IRONCLAD development news!Since our last update, we've added a couple more systems and a bunch more content in order to round-out gameplay. Without spoiling too much of the specifics, I'll cover a portion of everything we've added.EnemiesIf you participated in the first Ironclad playtest, you likely felt that the enemies were all a bit one-note. In an effort to address the whole 'every enemy just runs straight at you', we've made changes to almost all the enemy's behavior and even implemented some new little guys.Howlers now display better pack-behavior. They will work together to attack you but bicker amongst themselves. Alpha Howlers better reflect their name and have some unique attacks and abilities.Ticks will combat you with large sticky projectiles. The Gripper lurks in deep places and makes you second-guess yourself. The Nibblers now make an appe…
- Dev Update #7 - 11 June 2026
Hey Crew, I hope you all have been doing well! After many months of writing dev updates, I still don't know how to organize these well or what information is best to actually include in them... This update is going to give you a taste of (some of) the things we've been working on and some updates on the team over here at Trash Planet Games.Full Steam Ahead!I started making these steam community posts to show you guys that we are actively developing and that Ironclad won't be another indie game that never releases. While I'll still continue to make these dev updates, I'm excited to share with you all that we've had the privilege to quit our day jobs and work Full Time on IRONCLAD. We feel so lucky that we're able to work on this game every day so we can make it the best version it can be. So thank you all for helping us achieve our dreams of being Game Devs!Dying Sucks, But What If...You…
- Playtest Wrapup - 27 April 2026
Hey Crew. This first playtest has officially wrapped up! We had over 50,000 crewmembers play our tank game, and that's honestly pretty crazy! I wanna thank everyone that played and took the time to leave us feedback - we'll be going through all of it to see where Ironclad needs to be improved the most. There will be more playtests and demos in the future, but for now, we're gunna be a bit heads-down working on improving the game. Thanks again!
- Dev Update #6 - 21 April 2026
Hey Crew, sorry about not sending my usual dev update strictly on the 10th of this month, I'm sure some of you noticed. We just pushed our final (tm) update to this playtest and while it's not a large update, we hope that it's an impactful one. It mainly addresses the game's performance and we wanted to get a gauge for whether we moved the needle for those who have been having trouble running IRONCLAD in the past. Because we were focusing on performance for this update, we intentionally didn't add many new features so we wouldn't muddy the waters. That being said, we decided to at least give you guys some health packs so you don't always feel like you're one strong breeze away from death (although you probably are anyway).Everyone who has been waiting for playtest access will now have it, so run wild. As you will also be able to see in the Main Menu, this playtest will come to a close o…
- Dev Update #5 - 11 March 2026
Hey crew, so our first playtest has been underway since February 27th, and I just want to thank everyone who has tried out IRONCLAD (all 11,000 of you), and doubly thank those who have taken the time to leave us feedback! We know we presented a pretty early version of the game to you guys, but that just means that we have more time to actually act on the feedback that everyone has given. That being said, we have received some feedback on how we've decided to run the playtest itself, and we will be working to improve that experience in the future. We have been letting groups of playtesters in as we make updates so that we can get peoples' first impressions as we make improvements, but we realize that we were not clear enough with how we intended on running the playtest, and some folks were disappointed they didn't get in on the 27th (or still haven't gotten in).We plan on making another l…
- Dev Update #4 - 11 February 2026
Hey crew, this month felt super long and we've made a ton of progress in preparation for the upcoming playtests. We have been so focused on development, that we haven't really made any social media updates recently, so I'd like to jump right into the information and what we've been working on.PlaytestOur first round of playtests will be hosted on steam and while we'll announce when signups for it will open, the actual playtesting will begin Friday, February 27th. You'll be able to invite friends to the playtest as well, so you shouldn't have to worry about your whole friend group getting access before diving into Ironclad. If you want to be pinged for when playtest signups go live, be sure to join the Trash Planet Games Discord! ProgressTanks/VehiclesCompletely rehauled tank movement again (nah I'm just kidding).Fixed a bug where turret rotation would desync across clientsImplemented ne…
- Dev Update #3 - 10 January 2026
Hey crew, another month of development has quickly passed. I hope you all enjoyed the recent holidays and have had a good start to the new year! Our community is growing so quickly and everyone here at Trash Planet Games is so grateful for your excitement about IRONCLAD, but I'll stop stalling and get to the information you've been waiting for.Playtest? We are planning on hosting public playtests starting late February. There's still a lot of "t"s we want to cross and "i"s we want to dot, but we're really excited to get IRONCLAD into the hands of everyone. The size of these playtests may start out smaller and grow in size as we get more clarity on what's working and what's not, but those specifics will have to be ironed out later. If you want an announcement right when playtests go live, then make sure to join the Trash Planet Games Discord! ProgressDevelopment has been moving along smoo…
- Dev Update #2 - 16 December 2025
Hey crew, it's that time of the month to give another short update on what we've been up to. I would have liked to get this out on the 10th to stay in line with the previous update and store release, but hopefully you all will forgive me.ProgressIf you're not already aware, the dev team for Ironclad is currently only able to dedicate part-time hours, with the dream of being full-time pending some form of development funding. That being said, it should be expected that these updates vary in size, especially with holidays taking time away from development.TanksEdited model to accommodate ammo loading components for the tank.Adjusted the default scale of the .fbx so no scaling is needed in engine.Implemented proper ammo loading for the tanks. This includes:Hovering over interactable tank loading components will display a tooltip on how much ammo will be loaded out of the player's total in…
- Dev Update #1 - 10 November 2025
Hey crew, it's been about a month since the release of Ironclad's steam page so we just wanted to make a short, informal dev update to keep everyone in the loop on what we've been working on!Thank YOU!Firstly, I just wanna say how thankful we are for everyone who has come across the game and decided to wishlist it. We've surpassed 2000 wishlists already which, if I'm being honest, is better than what our goal was for the store page release.ProgressObviously you guys can't play the game yet, so I'll keep the changelog informal and I'm sure some things will be left out.TanksRevamped Tank Movement (v2): Before, tanks could scale buildings like spiderman but we felt that wasn't quite in line with the experience we wanted to give players, so we updated the movement to be fully physics-based.Added sfx to all tank actions (entering and exiting seats, entering and exiting through the hatches, p…
