- What’s Next? - 18 September 2026
Ahoy! We had a dream: to release a remaster of City of Abandoned Ships. Actually, scratch that. The dream was to make a game of our own. Seven months ago, that dream came true. Since then, we’ve released two major patches, two story DLCs, and dozens of fixes. In many ways, we’re only now coming out of launch mode. The biggest launch fires are out, and ReCon Team has welcomed new people aboard. Now it’s time to decide what comes next — and how long we can keep working on the game. Right now, the future is uncertain. All we know for sure is what we’d like to do. We’d love to spend another year or two working on Age of Pirates and follow a similar path to Caribbean Legend, which started as a remaster and is now gearing up for its major 2.0 update. But first, we need to understand what you want from the game and whether the project can get enough support to sustain that work. What should we…

- Community Chronicles: The Legacy of the Sea Dogs Series - 4 August 2026
Greetings, captains!Konstrush here, lead developer at ReCon Team. Today I would like to share with veterans and newcomers alike a piece of the history—and the love—behind the game series that gave rise to “Caribbean Legend” and “Caribbean Legend: Age of Pirates” - “(Sea Dogs)”. This should help both current and future players understand the history, spirit, and philosophy of our project, while also taking a dive into the rich and often difficult story of this remarkable series. Grab a cold drink and some snacks before you settle in for this long read.A quick reminder as well: special “Caribbean Legend” bundles are now available.PrefaceOh yes... - Modding Support - 19 April 2026
Greetings, Corsairs! Today is a historic day for modding in our project. As promised, we are officially opening access to the game's code. We have always believed that the life of this wonderful series is prolonged by a dedicated and unfading modding community. Open ScriptsStarting today, the current version on Steam comes with an open Program folder. This means unlimited modding is available to you: you can change old logic or add completely new content to the game. But here in Age of Pirates, we have some features that differ from our big brother Caribbean Legend:We have only one script folder - it has become much easier to navigate, without the need to duplicate changes across multiple dialogue files. We moved all localization into separate .ini text files. Now you don't need to dig into the script code to translate the game or edit dialogues. (however, you will need an IDE for conven…
- Steam Release & Roadmap - 31 March 2026
Ahoy! This is Konstrush - head of the ReCon Team.A little over two weeks have passed since the release on March 13, and it's time to sum up the first results. I'll be honest: it was massive. As Joruba from BlackMark Studio noted, the release turned out to be really solid. We have already released a number of prompt patches to polish the rough edges, and we continue to closely monitor your feedback. The number of players is especially pleasing — many newcomers who were previously unfamiliar with the "Corsairs" series have entered the game, and judging by the reviews, they liked the game very much, though not without nuances.A huge thank you to all of you: those who support us by purchasing the Support Pack, who cover our remaster on their streams, who send detailed bug reports, help with improving localization, and are already creating mods with might and main. We can say with certainty —…
