--- THE OVERLAP --- The Overlap is a survival-cosmic-horror 2D sandbox game in which you'll be able to explore procedurally generated wastelands, scavenge resources, craft , build (or should I say 'rebuild'?), customize and upgrade your survivor, face eldritch horrors , survive the post-cataclysmic world, go through hell alongside friends online, rise from the ashes and find out the truth behind it all. --- STORY --- The Overlap takes place after a series of major natural and preternatural catastrophes hit earth. This mysterious event destroyed modern society as it was once known and was later called ' The Cataclysm ' by those who survived it. Inexplicably, among the ruins of the nations once built, some of those who didn't succumb to hunger, disease or a violent death... changed, first falling into madness and then slowly turning into wretched beasts . The Cataclysm destroyed everything in its wake, no biome was left unscathed. The procedurally generated wastelands now shape the post-cataclysmic world . --- GAMEPLAY --- Exploring will be one of the pillars of the game, with literally hundreds of millions of procedurally generated post-cataclysmic worlds to explore, there will always be a new place waiting to be discovered. From the heights of a skyscraper, to the depths of the sewers or underground cave systems and everything in between . But make no mistake, these worlds will be filled with all kinds of eldritch horrors and it's up to you to decide how to deal with them: If you choose to fight then explosives , melee and ranged weapons will probably get the job…
