  • Galactic Prospectors: Update 1.004.024 - 17 September 2026

This update fixes bugs with the scroll bar in the game when navigating menus, as well as other various multiplayer bugs.

  • Galactic Prospectors: Update 1.004.023 - Multiplayer, QOL, Fixes, & more! - 11 September 2026

Galactic Prospectors 1.004.023 You can get out of the pilot seat now. Your ship has an inside. Not a menu, not a loading screen into some generic room: the actual floor plan of the hull you are flying, built from its own silhouette, which you can walk around while the ship is still out there in the belt. Every ship in the game has one. So does the ugly kitbashed thing you welded together last week. That is the headline, but it is not the half of it. Stations got a police force. Pirates learned to board them. And multiplayer got torn out and rebuilt. Walk around your own ship Stand up mid flight and the game does not cut away anywhere. The deck is drawn right into the world, turning with the hull, while you are still moving. Once you are down there, the deck is yours to fill. Bolt a refinery into the hold so you can process ore without docking. Put a bunk aft. Fit a cryopod amidships. It…

  • Galactic Prospectors: Update 1.003.010 - 5 September 2026

Fixed bug where cryopod would duplicate your character Fixed bug where station medbays didn't work in Multiplayer Fixed asteroid synchronization issue in Multiplayer Added safezone shield to friendly trade stations Fixed issue where RCON required both RequireSteamAuth and a RconPassword to work. Now you can do one or the other, with RequireSteamAuth being preferred and recommended as it is permission based and uses ACL method. We're also working on balancing stuff like ship building and purchasing, as well as balancing the difference between the Galactic Shop/Market and trade stations. We've also decided that updates will be weekly, every Thursday by 6 PM Mountain Time (US & Candada). Hotfixes and patches will continue from Thursday until Saturday Evenings, with the ingress of bug reports and other things reported to us by the community.

  • Galactic Prospectors: Update 1.003.009 - Dedicated Server Hotfix - 5 September 2026

Fixed dedicated servers unable to parse .YAML configuration file once edited from default generated file.

  • Galactic Prospectors: Update 1.003.009 - 5 September 2026

Getting out of your ship has some more meaning Big one today. For as long as this game has existed, a station was a menu. You flew up, pressed a button, and did your trading from the pilot seat. That's over. You park, you climb out, you walk in. Outposts are real places Every trading outpost has an interior now. A few floors, a corridor, rooms with actual purposes: a market, a cantina, storage, a medbay, somewhere to look out the window. Each outpost gets its own layout and keeps it, so the place you were at last week looks the same when you come back, and the same people are still working there. And there are people. Astronauts, robots, and a handful of alien species wander between rooms, stop and turn to look at you when you talk to them, and have things to say about life in the much talked about Ethereon Sector. They all sound different, they all walk different, and the rooms themsel…

  • Galactic Prospectors: Update 1.002.005 - 4 September 2026

Galactic Prospectors 1.002.005 - Patch Notes This update fixes a few crashes and bugs, and also introduces a QOL change for Workshop items. Multiplayer changes & fixes Your standing with AI factions now syncs correctly. Previously a client's reputation changes, war declarations and peace deals were sent out as the host's standing, so what you saw could differ from what the host was simulating. The host is now the single authority for every player's standing, and each player receives their own. Reputation changes from missions and events now reach the player who earned them. They used to stay on the host (or dedi servr). Joining a session now syncs your own faction standings from the host, not just the host's (or dedi server). Faction state can no longer be written by another client. Only the session host (or dedi server) can change it. Custom ship hulls (blueprints) now transfer between…

  • Galactic Prospectors August Devlog - 11 August 2026

Most of what we have done since the last update does not screenshot well. Cargo that behaves like cargo, physics we own, audio that now natively builds on Linux, and a frame loop that stopped throwing away most of your CPU. Worth writing up anyway. Linux, natively Galactic Prospectors has a real Linux build now, not a compatibility shim, and the dedicated server does too. Both platforms compile ahead of time, so the game starts quickly and there is no runtime to install first. Saves moved to where Linux expects them, under your local share directory. If you already had one in the old spot, the game moves it the first time you launch. New audio stack Sound now runs on FMOD Studio. The reason we switched is boring but useful: one audio build covers Windows and Linux instead of two toolchains, and the authoring tool runs on the same machines we write code on. About 55 events, positional mi…
