  • Summoner's Cookbook Playtest and Demo Update v091 - 20 September 2026

🔨 v091 ChangesEven less dragging and dropping required! 1) I've reworked how adding ingredients to the summoning circle works. You no longer have to drag and drop from the top. Instead simply click each spot on the circle and select an ingredient from the menu. You can still access any item from storage at the top to drag out if needed. 2) Similarly, adding creatures to command slots work in the same way. 3) You can now also add a minions to their respective work building simply by clicking the building. 4)Also reworked the alchemy/transmutation system. Any unlocked transmutation can now be selected with "quick transmute" button working similarly to the quick summon button. Just select what to transmute from a menu.5) Added some font options6) Some art and SFX polish

  • Summoner's Cookbook Playtest and Demo Update v080 - 26 August 2026

🔨 v080 ChangesThis update comes with a big QoL change. Some feedback I've gotten is that manual summoning is a bit too cumbersome with a lot of dragging and dropping. 1) I've added a quick summon button which can be used for all creatures you have unlocked. Once you have summoned a creature once you can simply select it from the menu to automatically add its ingredients to the circle. This also removes the need of the recipe page objects which cleans up the UI a bit. 2) The chalk tool now only appears when it becomes relevant and has been relocated above the quick summon button. The trash portal has been removed as well as it is not really needed. 3) Another thing I've noticed is that players often skip the tutorial and end up confused and overwhelmed. After thinking about it, I've decided to just have the basics explained at the beginning of the game. 4) The demo has also finally been…

  • Summoner's Cookbook Playtest Update v070 - 10 August 2026

🔨 v070 ChangesI'm rethinking the purpose of the Letter requests. I want to reduce the amount of text and required reading. While the letters add some flavor there are just too many of them and they are not really that interesting. I'd rather give the player more freedom on what to focus on and also not lock too much content behind them. Most letters have been removed and replaced by smaller quantity of apprentice letters which serve more to teach the basics and other useful information. Farming and foraging options are now part of the regular upgrade tree instead of locked behind letter requests. Added some keyboard shortcuts to open the most used books for easy switching.Leave feedback in the discord! Discord : discord.gg/FSM7bKjuz3

  • v060 - Demo Update and upcoming playtest! - 9 June 2026

🚨 Steam Playtest coming soon! 🚨 If you'd like to playtest and give feedback to help improve the game, I'll be releasing a playtest version soon. 🔨 Demo v060 ChangesAdded a button to reveal recipe solutions without the need to switch to casual difficulty. Shops are now always available from the top bar. The icons will now instead light up when there has been an update to what items are on sale. Same goes for mission selections. Furnace and Altars now show a preview icon of produced items in the tooltip of the selection menu.

  • v050 - Demo Update! More QoL! - 28 April 2026

🔨 Demo v050 ChangesMissing ingredients can now be seen directly in the tooltip of the summoning selection menu as well as given a clear red outline. Golems no longer collect other minions unless specifically ordered to.Build space no longer needs to be upgraded. You now start with one screen of Build Space by default.Redesigned the HIDE GUI element tabs so they no longer gets confused with build space screen transitions.

  • v040 - Demo Update! Streamlining, QoL and Killing my Darlings! - 12 April 2026

🔨 Demo v041 ChangesChant system removed! It was an neat idea but it's not used in a way interesting enough to justify it. I'm removing it for a more streamlined crafting process. Now just add ingredients and press the summon button. The Book of Creatures have been removed and all creature information will now be listed in the Summoner's Cookbook instead to keep things less spread out. Mailbox cycling. You can now cycle through all available letters in the mailbox at any time. Furnace is now automated! No more manually dragging resources into the furnace. Just select what to smelt from a menu and it will run as long as you have resources in storage. Altars and built summoning circles now work similarly! No need to drag recipes, just select what creatures to summon or sacrifice from a menu.

  • v031 - Demo Update! Some more UX/UI Changes! - 2 February 2026

🔨 Demo v031 Changes Changed the UI for the merchant to simplify and hopefully make it more intuitive. You now select increment with a drop down menu while pressing \ and \ buttons to add or remove from cart. You can also buy singular items just by R-clicking an item. Resolution options are now also in a drop down menu Furnace now has a preview graphic that shows what item is being produced Letters now have an extra close \ on the big letter.

  • v030 - Demo Update! Big UX/UI Changes! - 26 January 2026

After some great feedback, I’ve made big UX/UI changes to sort out some issues. 🔨 Demo v030 ChangesI’ve upscaled the native resolution to 640 x 360 This gives everything some more space and hopefully solves some other issues, most importantly font readability. The small font has been removed, and the game now uses one consistent font for everything.R-clicks are no longer needed. The option is still there, but the UI has been updated so everything can be done with just one mouse button. (Three-dot menu, click \ to close etc). The separate tutorial has been removed, and a more streamlined version is now at the start of the main game (and it’s skippable).Letter and Request slots are automatically refilled if a request exists.Unsolved Recipes has been given its own slot to avoid too much book switching.Resource and Creature slots have been given an additional slot (now 4 each).A bigger enclo…
