  When I saw the surprisingly low interest in the heroic fantasy adventure game I made, I was somewhat surprised and discouraged, as I genuinely thought I had created something unique and interesting, worthy to be played regularly.   Rejoice! Good news!Even though I've been focusing on a completely new game project, I've decided not to let a good year's effort go to waste. Despite the odds, I will complete and release Dragon Riddler too.Based on feedback I received, it seems to me that the Journey act, in which the adventurer searches for the dragon's lair, was either way too easy or frustratingly hard.Over the couple of months I had the development of Dragon Riddler on hold, I kept thinking about it a lot. I believe I have figured out how to make the game better in every regard.The concept changes a bit.   Since launching the Dragon Riddler demo, Steam engagement and wishlist growth have been minimal.As a solo creator, I have to be careful with where I focus my time and energy, so I've decided to cut my losses and pause development indefinitely.Many thanks to all who tried the demo and offered their thoughts.Sandor

• Hotfix for Steam Deck - 20 June 2025

  Despite testing thoroughly on Windows, Mac, and Linux, I didn't realize the game was unplayable on Steam Deck. It couldn't detect the correct screen size, so only the top left corner was visible.After finally getting my hands on a Deck, I discovered the native Linux build was causing the issue. Strangely, the Windows version via Proton worked fine.It took a lot of investigation and trial-and-error, but I eventually worked out a solution that makes the native Linux version run properly on Steam Deck, while still behaving as expected on desktop platforms.If you previously launched Dragon Riddler on Deck, your settings might still force the wrong resolution. To reset them, tap the top left corner of the main menu and press the green confirmation button.This hotfix should install automatically, so you don't need to configure anything.Please let me know if you find any bugs!Cheers,Sandor

• Hotfixes and some pleasant adjustments - 1 June 2025

  Critically annoying bug fixed: The primary objective of this update was to correct a bug, which prevented some boons like the Farstrider Boots from activating. A minor annoyance was squished too: The game failed to remember the correct display on multi-monitor setups. Earthquake & Crystal Obelisks Earthquake is a new game event in v0.3, and I realized that it'd be neat if the tremors actually harmed Hazard-type encounters (i.e. Obstacles and Foes), in addition to shifting everything around a bit. Crystal Obelisks have also been added in v0.3 as a new type of Obstacles that subtly hint at the lore of the fantasy world of Dragon Riddler, but it seemed logical to me that these crystal structures should be more vulnerable to Earthquakes. • Version 0.3 Released! - 30 May 2025

  Better dragons, a new Joker system, more turn events & encounters and boons. NEW FEATURE: DRAGON COLORS & BETTER TACTICS As a purely aesthetic and very apparent change, dragons now have colors. But the real improvement here is that they are now much more tactical, and when in a desperate situation, will intentionally focus on defending themselves until they can retaliate. And they will retaliate, as these are evil beasts! Additionally, Severe Wounds is now only applied to Hatchling dragons. There is a new status effect, called Fierce Determination, that activates when an Adult dragon or the Hero (or Heroine) loses 70% of their Life. When this happens, the character gains +1 Word Builder capacity to resist defeat as sheer willpower triumphs over the failing flesh.
