Another Star on Steam has just received its latest bug fix update, version 3C. This update primarily focuses on minor bug fixes, including one crash. No new content has been added. Please report any problems you have with the game, so that they can be fixed as soon as possible. You can return to version 3B by selecting it from the "betas" tab after right clicking on the game in your Steam library. Here is the change list: FIXES Venom no longer crashes the game when cast by an enemy. Playtime should no longer appear to "reset" every 24 hours. Some screen transitions that did not line up correctly have been altered. Father's Pendant no longer heals to full with the Herb Pin. The Walking Stick now applies attack power correctly. The in-game icons for the "Student" and "Scholar" achievements are now correct and match the Steam icons. Ever move typo corrections.

Will create lots of visual artifacts and messes up the non-square aspect ratio of the game, but should at least allow the game to run on really old laptops and such. A hotfix has been released that addresses a couple issues in the recent Another Star 3A release. Fixes Fixed an issue where the game would not correctly initialize keyboard controls because of a missing line in the source code. Missing Linux .so libraries needed to run the game in SteamOS are now included in the install folder.

FIXES Fixed crash at startup if a key enumeration value in the settings file did not exist. The numeric keypad keys are now enumerated. You can now play the game with any gamepad connected to the system, as intended, not just the first player gamped. Phials no longer cause battles to get stuck when consumed. Attempting to open the menu and move on the same frame no longer confuses the engine to allow the player to skip/ignore warping and scripting tiles. Fixed an issue w…

The new update for Another Star brings numerous bug fixes and a new backend to the game, but it needs testing before it's ready to go live for everyone. If you're feeling adventurous, consider opting in to the beta by following the steps outlined below. Go to your Steam library and find "Another Star". It's probably in your favorites, right? Of course it is. Right-click (or ctrl-click if you're on a Mac) on the game in your library and select "properties". There should be a tab in the properties window called "Betas". Select that. In the drop-down box, change the "NONE - Opt out of all beta programs" to "beta - Open beta testing branch". (Don't worry about the access code; it's an open beta so you don't need one.) Click close. The beta version should be queued to load and download soon. And that's all! If you run into any problems, make sure to let me know in the Steam forums.

It's official! Another Star will finally be released on Steam's storefront on July 28th! The Steam release will feature the new-and-improved version 3 of the game, which includes completely overhauled graphics for all the game's enemies, and 32 Steam achievements to earn. (Not to mention a bunch of little bug fixes here and there, of course.) I hope you are all looking forward to this as much as I am!
