- A ship is safest in the harbor, but that’s not what ships are for. DevLog#6 - 2 September 2025
Hello, This is SavePoint. We've had an especially busy month. As we are conducting an offline playtest with 20 real users, we've been racing to finish everything we’ve built so far. Though we've worked hard, packaging everything up is revealing some unexpected issues.Still, our game has made great progress. Skills for tier 5 and 6 developers have been added (though still a bit rough), and effects for the furniture that helps developers are now implemented. It's a great stage for testing. Once we touch up the recipe window for automated combinations and tweak the level design to make the game more fun, we’ll be ready. We’re aiming for a busy game. We hope players can feel the hectic pace of game development, and experience its metaphors through our game.Thank you.

- The Sweetest Moment of the Day Lies in the Early Morning. DevLog#4 - 28 July 2025
Hello, This is SavePoint. This week, I’ve decided to take a break from the weekly devlog. I was just getting the hang of writing development diaries and thinking of trying to write more engaging entries by topic, but work is just too hectic right now. They say those who manage their time well are the ones who succeed, but I guess I’ll be the one who learns through failure.I’ll be back with development updates in the next DevLog.
- While There’s Life, There’s Hope. DevLog#3 - 8 July 2025
Hello, This is SavePoint’s DevLog #3.As we develop our game, we want to discuss a different topic each time. Today’s topic comes from our experience applying to the SGM indie game support program.“How much should you show in a build?”Most developers want to show off everything they’ve made. But that’s not always the best approach. You might worry, “If I include all the highlights, will people just enjoy the best parts and lose interest in buying the full game?” Or, “This weapon is meant for the late game and is too strong—should I really show it in a one-hour demo?” This leads to two main approaches:Show as much as possible of what you’ve developedFocus on the actual game progression and help players concentrate on the intended experienceWe faced the same dilemma. We chose to show as much as possible, but realized that wasn’t ideal. Our tutorial became too long, and many players missed…
- We Cannot Change the Direction of the Wind, But We Can Adjust the Sails - 24 June 2025
Hello, This is SavePoint. We wanted to write a fun announcement, but it didn’t quite work out. We thought about making a quiz, but with AI, all the answers would be too easy to find. We also considered puns, but couldn’t come up with jokes that would work in multiple languages, so we gave up. Instead, we’d like to share some behind-the-scenes stories from our development. We’ll go in reverse order, starting with the most recent events and working back to when we first started making games. Hopefully, by the time we talk about our very first game development experience, our current project will be finished and released!\Just yesterday, on June 23rd, we received the acceptance notice for the Smilegate Membership. Smilegate is the company behind the FPS game “Crossfire,” which was especially popular in China. They have a foundation that supports indie game developers, selecting teams each y…
- The Days Are Getting Hotter, and Our Development Passion Is Rising - 9 June 2025
Hello, everyone who is interested in GOTY.We have registered GOTY on Steam in preparation for a grant application. Although it was initially just for show, surprisingly, a few users have wishlisted and checked out our game. Some even left comments on the community, saying they liked the game’s images. As developers, we are truly amazed by this interest—and deeply grateful. We have been busy lately creating a build for the grant program. We want to share it with those who are interested in our game, but the current build is not quite ready for release yet. From now on, we plan to make our Steam page more accessible and update various artworks. We will also post development logs at least once every two weeks to keep you updated on our progress. Since we are a team of three, there may be times when progress is slow due to various circumstances, but we believe it’s important to keep you inform…
