- 10,000 Wishlists — and a Quick Early Access Development Update - 17 September 2026
10,000 Wishlists! We’re currently going full speed ahead preparing for our Early Access release — and then we noticed this wonderful number. Not during Next Fest. Not during a sale. Just 10,000 people who decided they wanted to keep an eye on Yots. While our SMM is busy jumping around the room, let me tell you what state the game is in as we approach Early Access. Atmosphere Fog, monsters, the City... You know. THOSE vibes. We’ve put a lot of love into the environment, working on every model by hand. At the start of Early Access, the City will offer both wide open streets and claustrophobic back alleys, alongside several special locations. You may have already seen the Park and the Rift in the demo and some of our videos. Two more special locations will join them for Early Access. Optimization We can’t promise a completely bug-free release — although our tester is certainly doing his be…

- End of Demo - 26 June 2026
The Demo Showcase Is Over — Thank You for Your Feedback! Hey, cultists! We want to thank everyone who had a chance to play the demo, share their impressions, leave a review, or simply tell us about their experience with the game. This demo showcase was a very important milestone for us. It helped us see how the game feels from the player’s perspective, which parts are already working well, and which areas still need improvement. What We Learned from the Demo During the showcase, we received a lot of useful feedback. We are carefully reading your comments, notes, and suggestions — and we are already using them in our continued work on the project. Right now, our main goal is to make the game clearer, more convenient, more stable, more engaging, and more replayable. What We’re Working on Next We currently have several important areas planned for improvement: Private Lobbies We will defini…
- Why a stick is sometimes better than a knife - 19 June 2026
Ave, warriors! Steam Next Fest is in full swing, and first of all, we'd like to thank everyone who has already tried the Yots demo. We've been carefully reading your feedback, watching streams, collecting bug reports, and discussing your suggestions within the team. Many of the things you've pointed out are already helping us improve the game. If you haven't shared your thoughts yet, don't be shy. Tell us what you enjoyed, what felt awkward, and which moments stood out the most. This is one of the most important stages of development for us, and every piece of feedback helps make Yots better. Today we'd like to take a closer look at one of the game's core systems and talk about combat in Yots: weapons, timing, hitboxes, and why sometimes even a simple stick can be more useful than a knife. At first glance, it all seems straightforward: the player has a weapon, the enemy has health, a hi…

- A Quick Guide for Yots' Acolytes - 15 June 2026
Steam Next Fest kicks off today, which means everyone will finally get a chance to try the Yots demo and embark on their first expedition into the Mist City. To help answer some of the questions you might have about the game's mechanics, we've prepared a short guide to help you get started. I launched the game and spawned in the lobby. What should I do? First, head down to the shop on the lower floor and buy some equipment. Not enough money? No problem - you can always grab a free weapon. Sure, a wooden stick may not look very impressive, but it's still better than venturing into the City empty-handed. How do I start an expedition? First, talk to Yots and find out what quota he wants you to fulfill this time. Once you've done that, head to the ritual circle and begin the ritual that will transport you to the Mist City. Important: only the lobby host can start the ritual, so make sure th…
- The Birth of the City of Mist - 9 June 2026
Ave, and welcome to our second devlog! This time we're taking a more nostalgic route rather than a practical one. We'll look back at where Yots began and compare the project's earliest versions to what it has become today - especially from a visual standpoint. The idea of combining survival horror with the quota horror formula quickly felt like a natural fit for our team. We had already worked on survival horror projects before, while quota horror games have become increasingly popular in recent years - and we've spent plenty of hours enjoying them ourselves. After breaking both genres down to their core elements, the concept of Yots emerged: a gameplay loop centered around meeting quotas and managing resources, but supported by a deep combat system - something quota horror games don't usually offer. The setting was largely shaped by the author of this post (we'll properly introduce our…
- This is our very first Steam devlog for Yots! - 29 May 2026
Welcome to the Yots Devlog! We want to talk a bit more about the kind of game we’re making, where development currently stands, and briefly go over the progress we’ve made this year. Yes, we’re alive, and we’ve been hard at work on the game this whole time.Yots - is a cooperative survival horror game. At some point we looked at modern quota based horror games, then at classic survival horror titles, and realized that their core gameplay elements fit together surprisingly well. To make that work, we had to move away from the crafting systems that are usually expected from the genre, at least for now, and instead focus on extremely limited resources and careful resource management.Right now we’re finishing the core mechanics and filling the game with content for the demo planned for Steam Next Fest. We truly hope to show you the result of more than a year of work this June. For the setting,…
