This will be a large update for the current Version. IPackThat 2 is totaly rewritten in c++ and will use the power of gpu processing. The first test are very very promissing. - IPackThat removed from Store - 11 December 2015
Hello folks, seems like the activation procedure wasn't so good after all. I currently implementing the direct steam api via steamworks.net. I will upload a new version and check with steam if its valid this way. After this change, you need to have the steam client installed so the tool can check if the app is valid. This will be done in the background at the first start and after a version update. No input is required now.
- Out of Early Access - 6 October 2015
Hello folks, we are finally released :) Thanks to Tom Giardino from Valve ːsteamhappyː All buyers who got IPackThat during early access also received automatically the commercial upgrade as free gift. Short roadmap for upcoming updates Triangulate incoming uv shells just internal for better handling all the math triangles are far cheaper to operate with than ngons in undetermant sice (the area from ngons for examples is heavy math compared to triangle area) have to change every math inside the tool ( but helps a lot for upcoming stuff ) move scene stats to viewport as overlay can be toggled together with cpu and fps meter ability to crunch down the outer contours different settings for lowpoly outlines (low medium high) faster checks but not accurate ( depending on the quality level ) Thats all for now, if you got suggestions or got problem [email protected]
- Update 1.7.5708.16107 - 18 August 2015
Hello folks, new small update with some bugfixes and features. added mirrored bake offsets to import options (only enabled if you turn on use bake-offsets) recompiled entire project to fix a crash bug due wrong compiled binaries overlap detection is now disabled as default (except indirect overlaps due shared vertices) find smallest bounds is now disabled as default inside cluster properties save file will automatically overwrite the last file (the file dialog is already filled with the last file path and file name) fixed a bug where create groups by material id was not working when clusters where selected some small tweaks and bug fixes Still waiting for someone from steam to help leaving early access. No idea why noone is reacting since one month.
- Hot Fix 1.7.5665.20634 - 6 July 2015

Hello all, a small drawback while try to leave early access. As giveaway for all who bought the tool during early access i give away the commercial upgrade version for free. Because of that i can't leave early access that easy. Have to get in contact with steam to make the transition. The tool itself is finished so far and ready to leave early access. There are still feature request that will be handled after leaving early access. in the meantime i uploaded a new update with some nice features people asked on Polycount added shortcuts for move, rotate and scale via keyboard input shift + arrow keys move ctrl +up/down scale ctrl left/right rotate added shortcuts for handling groups 1 – 0 select by group index ctrl + 1 – 0 add group to selection (toggle the group selection) shift + 1 – 0 add selection to group shift + g add selection to new group shift + c clear group from selection added…

- DirectX11 Beta Branch & upcoming release - 28 May 2015
Hello folks, was long time since last update. Got my head deep inside directx. After the short test with direct2d i decided to leave this and started my own viewport renderer with directx 11. The first version can be found under beta branch directx11. There are still some bugs left Zoom to mouse pointing to wrong location borders while packing are not visualized margins are not visualized Those things will be adressed the next days. When the new viewport renderer is finished i will leave early access. That dosn't mean thats it. I still will add new features and optimize the packing algorithm. Additionaly there will be a commercial version available when im leaving early access. This version is for larger companies. The price for this commercial version will be higher than the normal one. the current version may be used, if you are a natural person a freelancer a student an independent e…
- Direct2D Beta Branch - 4 May 2015
Uploaded a new Beta Branched ( Direct2D ) I have started to change the viewport of IPackThat from old rendering to directd2d. I had to do this step as the performance of the view screen where worser for every feature i added. The new direct2d viewport is a lot faster now and can do things better than the old one. render outside 0 1 space faster access draw packing now can be panned and zoomed without messup zooming in/out is smoother and wont affect performance zooming in/out has no limits anymore If all went well i can enable the beta branch with some more fixes and tweaks by next monday. This current new feature will be the last new feature before release. When i have finished porting this feature, the tool will go out of early access.
- Version 1.7.5595.40883 in Beta Branch - 27 April 2015
Uploaded a new Version in Beta Branch. I did not uploaded it to the release version due to some problems with the new mouse raw handling. Sometimes it will loose the events. still investigating. Some nice feature got in like focus via f key and move and rotate via mouse. see change log for entire updates. the activation problem also got fixed now. it will activate only this time again and after this only if the hardware changes drasticly. fixed a bug where the key shortcuts not resetting the UV channel name tab correctly (asterix handling for showing solution history) fixed a bug where stop or cancel packing has not reseted the current solution correctly fixed a bug where not initialized UV polygons produces no UV data error on import added focus and zoom to selection (Key F) handle bake-offsets new import dialog option (“contains bake offsets) option only available if move out of bound…
