- Gemima and the Ice Golem Fortress DLC Now Available! - 10 November 2025
Push Everything. But Mostly Yourself. In the beginning, there was Gemima (and Jules)And there was a great wailing and gnashing of teeth. And the people cried out unto the developer, saying,"Truly, the puzzle 'If It Ain't Broke' cannot be solved!"And the developer dined upon their lamentations,And he drank of their tears, and it was so, so goodFor he was that kind of guy. So he did it again.More. Harder. Worse.More game mechanics. Harder puzzles. Worse jokes. Gemima and the Ice Golem Fortress subjects you to over a hundred brand new puzzles, featuring perfecly simple game mechanics that will still drive you and an optional friend absolutely potty.Explore a brand new map!In a rare show of solidarity with you, the player, Gemima games have a non-linear structure so that if you get stuck - and you are going to get stuck - you can go and swear at a different puzzle for a while and return refre…
- New achievements added for upcoming DLC! - 3 November 2025
With the arrival of Gemima's first DLC imminent, I've been working on a whole new tranche of achievements! But don't worry: if you're a dedicated 100%-er and have rinsed the base game already, Gemima offers the option to unlock the DLC's achievements without purchasing the upgrade.
- Major Bug Fix - Gemima or Jules getting permanently stuck - 23 July 2025
A recent fix for inconsistent physics behaviour introduced a bug where Gemima or Jules could get permanently stuck when following the other at a very specific distance. Apologies if this affected your play!
- Hotfix to previous update - 7 July 2025
Includes the fix to "IT LOOKS A BIT LIKE A DOG, DUNNIT?" that removes an unintended shortcut, and turned off the no-use-to-anyone-else developmernt mode that sends you to a black screen after two seconds of the title screen. Sigh.
- Bug Fix: Missing cursor on Steam Deck on DLC select screen - 29 June 2025
This is what happens when you have to rush out a fix halfway through making DLC for a game...
- Bug Fix for Comma Based Cultures - 29 June 2025
A couple of decimal point values sneaked through and stopped the game reaching the first level in cultures with comma-based floating point values. Fixed!
- Don't Go Breaking (out of) My Heart - 11 May 2025
Fixed a bug where it was possible to stray outside the bounds of one of the levels.
- Update: Multiple Save Slots! - 3 May 2025
By sort-of-popular request, Gemima now offers three save slots so you can try out the different modes without losing progress. The previous main menu items of "Continue Game (mode)" and "Start New Game" have been replaced with a single "Play" menu item which takes you to the new save slot screen. Here you can start or continue games in three separate slots, each with an inventory panel so you can quickly see your progress. Enjoy!
- Handle With More Care - 2 May 2025
Removed an unintended shortcut from one of the puzzles.
- Quick Thinker Achievement! - 29 April 2025
An achievement has been added for completing a playthrough of Gemima within six hours. Only you will know if it was on your first try...
- Quick Thinker Update - 29 April 2025
New saves started in "Quick Thinker" mode now have a six hour overall completion timer rather than individual puzzle timers. This timer is pitched as a challenge to new players who think they're fast at solving puzzles, not a speed run target (which would be much lower). Enjoy!
- Added Preservatives, fixed bugs - 28 April 2025
Your reward for discovering The Truth now persists to remind you of your accomplishment in-game. Quitting to the title screen from the credits no longer leaves the credits in the background of the menus.
- The End Really Is The End Now - 28 April 2025
Fixed a bug where you would be left with one irritatingly un-ticked door after viewing the credits.
- The Truth is now a little less inconvenient. - 28 April 2025
Tidied up the secret ending so it feels more satisfying and less like something has gone wrong.
- Minor Update: Spelinng Misstakes, timely achievement awards, long-lasting titles - 28 April 2025
Fixed a couple of small spelling mistakes and missing spaces. Achievements should now unlock as you achieve them rather than at the end of your play session Level titles remain present for a little longer to allow you to read them.
- Update: Fix for "Landslide" being rather easier than intended! - 27 April 2025
Pesky blue crates grumble grumble...
- Tweaks And Features! - 26 April 2025
Couple of quality of life changes in this update: 1. The invisible 'player ghost' that stays behind to stop rocks falling instantly when you move now hangs around a little longer Old version: 233ms when moving laterally, 33ms when moving down New version: 233ms when moving laterally, 166ms when moving down This makes certain manoeuvres involving both players a little less finnicky. 2. Slow mo! To make it easier to execute certain moves involving rocks and gems, I've also added the option to enable and disable Slow-Mo at any time from the pause menu. This halves the movement speed of Gemima, Jules, and everything else in the game. However, it does not slow down the level timer if you are playing with one enabled, so use these new powers judiciously...
- Update: Fix for people with awkward monitor aspects, like my wife. - 25 April 2025
The puzzle "8 BIT SOFTWARE IS SUPERIOR" should now look less janky on 16:10 monitors.
- BUG FIX: Achievements! - 25 April 2025
While setting up the GEMIMA demo, I accidentally managed to make it so that ONLY the demo would report achievements rather than NOT the demo. Sigh. It is unfortunately not possible to backdate ALL achievements you may have missed, but most of them will now unlock as soon as you collect a gem / push a rock / visit the credit screen etc if you had already reached the threshold for the achievement ALSO: The Purple Key Room has been updated to be more appropriate to the puzzles that preceded it. You will need to revisit that room to collect newly added gems if you had already got that far. The LANDSLIDE puzzle has been updated to be fairer and more straightforward. If by some miracle you had already solved it, you will need to revisit that room to collect the gems needed to complete the game. Apologies for any inconvenience!
- Update 7 : Reorganisation! - 23 April 2025
After much soul-searching I decided that some of the puzzles required for completion on the main spine of the game would be better placed elsewhere. This shouldn't adversely affect anyone's progress, but let me know if I'm wrong! Also added some missing entries to the end credits.
