• High Score Update - 9 July 2026

  Talas demo has just received a bunch of changes and additions! Last month I had a changes to run ~big in-person playtest, with experienced roguelike heads, very casual gamers, and even some old school arcade lovers out there. There was some really useful feedback, some very interesting player behavior patterns; All in all a lot to think about, one thing that really blind-sighted me was just how much things felt like a grind in the beginning of runs, especially for players that struggled to make each shot count, but objectively as well. So a small but very meaningful change is a total re-balance of enemy HP and base player stats.Another kind of unwanted behavior i noticed throughout the playtests was players tended to move vertically and fight the boss quite soon into the run. • First Talas Demo and Bullet Fest - 8 June 2026

  After a productive playtest the first official public demo for Talas has just hit steam. It will stay up and receive regular updates as the game develops. Along with that I've created a new Demo Announcement trailer and new Steam page screenshots featuring some of the new mechanics and the updated visuals! In other news, today begins the Steam Bullet Fest where you will find Talas with a bunch of other amazing demos, I hope you take some time to check if there's anything that looks cool there and show new projects some much needed attention. -Chillout

• Talas Playtest is Live! - 19 May 2026

  I'm very Proud to announce that Talas is finally available for everyone to try out right now on steam! This is a major milestone for me and for Talas, as we slowly approach our first demo and the full release is on the horizon. Now you can go to the Talas Steam Page and join the playtest immediately. This playtest contains a little bit of everything, most planned features, and enough content to get you through a decent amount of runs without getting stale. But! It's also missing more STUFF, this is still a fairly limited version of the final game, and is missing some core components. Like, sound and music for starters, and that's priority number one before the demo comes out.
