- Mid-October Minor update - 13 October 2025
Today's update looks large, but is actually pretty minor. This update fixes a glitch that was preventing the "Grade A" achievement from triggering after scoring an A rank. If you successfully fulfilled the requirement previously, the achievement should pop automatically when starting the game.I have also rebuilt the game using the newest Unity editor version in order to patch out a potential vulnerability within the Unity engine, as per their suggestion. (This is the reason for the large size of the update, so I apologize for that). Let me know if you notice any unusual side effects suddenly appearing with the game!

Today's update adds a new feature and fixes a few small things. Apologies for the relatively large update size - there are new assets to be had! Noxley now has a voice! Call-outs when presenting evidence are now accompanied by a voice line, as performed by Joe Cliff Thompson. (These can be muted in the Options screen if you prefer to keep your own internalized canonical voice instead). Fixed some more typos. Adjusted some background graphics in Case 3. Fixed an issue in case 3 where it was possible to obtain two contradictory pieces of evidence at once.

Hello! Just a small update for today. Besides the usual typo fixes, I've added some checks to hopefully solve a rare issue where evidence could fail to appear in the notebook. This is more of a temporary solution while I try to get to the bottom of what was actually going on, but it should help in a pinch. Most players probably won't notice a difference (hopefully).

The demo version of Dragon Detective: A Friend from the Shadows is now available for PC via Steam! The demo lets you start at the beginning of the game and play most of the first case (approximately 90 minutes of gameplay total). Your save will carry into the full game on Steam, too, letting you pick up where you left off in the demo. About Achievements: The full version of Dragon Detective features Steam achievements. Achievements acquired in the demo will trigger in the full game automatically at the point where the demo content ends. If you wish to unlock the "Mauve Mother" achievement in the full game, you will need to begin case 1 in the demo on Detective difficulty.
