- Dev Log #14 - 16 June 2026
Hello shopkeepers! It is an honor to be part of the 2026 Cozy Job Simulators Sale! A warm welcome to all the new players joining during the event. Your support means a great deal, especially as Loot Shop Simulator is still in very early development. At this stage, I’d like to share a little bit about what is currently in the works and what can be expected in the next updates.More DecorationsYou may have noticed a new wall and floor set in the latest screenshots. Those decorations are part of the upcoming Diamond & Paywall item set. However, unlike previous wall decorations, I am implementing an option to toggle between different color variants of the same wall texture. The goal is to expand customization for players in the long run so that all future wall textures can offer multiple options. On top of the new wall and floor options, I've also been working on a new tile placement system ex…
- v0.3: The Shopkeeper's Polish Update is now live! - 8 June 2026
Hello shopkeepers! It's time for a BIG update! v0.3 finalizes the Guild Hall specialization, introduces a revamped UI design, tweaks the game pacing, and includes a number of quality of life changes and performance optimizations. With regard to the Guild Hall, the original design was planned to span 20 guild levels. However, based on the way the guild features will tie into the base game, and based on feedback, it has been decided to leave the max guild level as level 8. Everything related to the guild system has been rebalanced for the new structure. I hope you enjoy the streamlined experience! 7 new guild quests have also been added, mostly 3★ and new 4★ quests for later guild levels.I've also implemented a few things related to the upcoming Diamond & Paywall set. However, that set will launch in a future update. I'll provide more info in the next Dev Log related to the new set and whi…
- Dev Log #13 - 1 June 2026
Hello shopkeepers! The next update is right around the corner! It is currently going through the final testing phase before public release. Here are some previews of what to expect when the update goes live on June 8th!Revamped UIMost menus in the game now have new UI artwork! Special thanks to Chiara for designing such awesome menus!Performance ImprovementsGameplay at the largest shop size with many decorations has now been improved. Performance in general should be a lot better than before due to less data being processed overall.Game PacingThe pacing of leveling the shop has been rebalanced. Previously, it was too easy to get to high shop levels. There will now be a soft cap to shop level that should make it easier to plan and release late game content without players being too far ahead. Also, customers will no longer overflow the shop at the highest levels. Shop level contributes t…
- Dev Log #12 - 15 April 2026
Hello shopkeepers! Over the last few months, I have been cooking up the next update. There are a few areas I am specifically focused on. These include:Game Pacing: Currently it is too easy to reach high shop levels and fully expand the shop. Some players have fully built their shop even this early into EA development. I plan on changing how the pacing works as shop levels increase. This will also affect how many customers enter the shop (currently too many at higher levels).Guild Hall Specialization: I redesigned many aspects of the original scope. While some features have been scrapped, the final design will be a much more streamlined experience where the focus of the Guild Hall is to be an additional source of income for the shop.Optimization: A new round of optimization is coming in the next update that should solve performance hitches once the shop has been fully expanded.UI Redesig…
- Dev Log #11 - 24 January 2026
Hello shopkeepers! I hope everyone is doing well this new year! Last month I mentioned the content update in the works. The original plan was to release a series of new items by the end of the year, but I ran into a few obstacles and decided to step back.Going into the new year, I’ve decided to shift focus to larger updates. This means, updates won't be released as often, but each release will include more content. For those following closely, you know the Guild Hall specialization is still partially implemented. After some great feedback, I’m reworking and condensing the experience. The new design is done, but I'm still implementing the changes.Originally, the Guild Hall was intended to have a mobile-style progression. There would be 20 levels, with more quest variety and difficulty at higher levels, with deeper mechanical mastery required to complete the more difficult quests, and scal…

- Guild Hall Update #2 - 1 November 2025
Hello shopkeepers! The latest update is now available. This update includes a few features that were requested by the community such as the ability to zoom in, as well as display stands not reserving item stacks so you can still sell the item on display!Guild Hall development continues. We've unlocked the leveling system so now you can level your guild up to level 8! Since we are still testing a lot of things internally, we have decided to hold the equipment feature for now until we've finished refining it completely. This update includes a few other quality of life changes and optimizations, you can see the full dev notes below.v0.2.2b Development Notes-Display tables no longer reserve items (or any quantity of the item) You must have at least 1 of the item to place it on a Display Stand.-(Optimization) Streamlined an item data process when placing items on tables-Items on Display table…
- Dev Log #9 - 6 October 2025
Hello shopkeepers! We're a bit delayed on the next update. Unfortunately, we ran into a few issues over the last couple of weeks. I'd chalk it up to scope creep, but in reality it has been a combination of factors. We're still working on the build, and it should be ready later this month.Based on what we learned these past weeks, we've decided to scratch the Dominos minigame. It was always an extra feature and not necessary to realize the Guild Hall content to its fullest potential. Instead, we're focusing on adding more items like extra furniture for the shop, and on Quest features that were already planned. In the next update, we'll raise the cap to Guild Level 8, enable Dismiss on guild members, and unlock equipping (right now the equipment buttons only play sounds because the menu is sealed along with guild leveling). We're close to finishing, with the UI being the current bottleneck…
- Dev Log #8 - 22 September 2025
Hello shopkeepers! A lot has happened in the last two weeks. Effectively, we are undergoing a bit of restructuring to our workflow. We've expanded our team, and one of the new team members is undergoing training to help take over some of the programming tasks moving forward. We’re still working on LSS, too. As we wait for the completion of key art assets, we’re onboarding the new programmer and getting them up to speed on the codebase, tools, and our task flow. Ultimately, this will help us spread the workload, which in turn should help us continue production without burning anyone out.In parallel, design work continues. We’re iterating on the upcoming minigame (rules, scoring, and UI design), and we're also putting some thought into what the next specialization will be.This week's dev log is short as we focus on the administrative side of things. We'll have more news in a couple of week…
- Dev Log #7 - 8 September 2025
Hello shopkeepers! Over the last week, we've been gathering feedback on the Guild Hall and getting ready for the first Guild Hall update. In the meantime, let me share information about the systems currently in development!Guild Quest CombatCurrently, the quest steps involving Combat, Minibosses, and Bosses always roll a success for the player, regardless of the party. This is because some features of the combat system are still being fleshed out. Even though it's text-only with results displayed in the Quest Report, the actual combat mechanics will be real when we're finished.Once we've implemented the final combat mechanics, enemies will have a Power Score that determines the likelihood of the player's party defeating them successfully. On top of this, some enemies will have Weaknesses that will be compared against the equipment worn by party members. We're still evaluating and balanc…
- Major Update! Guild Hall Specialization - 31 August 2025
Hello shopkeepers! We are happy to announce that the Guild Hall Specialization is now available! This update introduces a new wall decor item called the Guild Quest Board which will allow you to recruit guild members, accept guild quests, and select which party members to send!Adventurers may have different Classes, Stats (Str, Dex, Int, Con), Aptitudes (Tank, DPS, Support) and Skill Tags. Their Power Score is determined by the rarity of their class and their equipment (but equipment will be introduced in an upcoming update). The fundamental aspect of guild quests is choosing adventurers suited to the task at hand. Each quest can have different tasks: from a simple Locked Door, to Combat, or even a whole Escort mission. By sending party members with the right Skill Tags, your party can fulfill all of the Skill Checks (or, 'Quest Steps' as we call them) and solve the quest! After the party…
- Dev Log #6 - 18 August 2025
Hello shopkeepers! We are still at work on the Guild Hall, the first of the Specializations that will be available to diversify how your shop functions! We've also been testing the latest release and have solved a few bugs that were found related to the Mirror on the Wall object. Thank you to everyone who sent in reports! For those who have expanded their shop multiple times and placed many objects, you may have noticed the game slow down a little. Well, we're happy to report that we've totally solved that lag with recent optimizations! These will also be available in the next update. We have also fleshed out the Guild Management menu a bit more since the previous Dev Log.Each adventurer will now have their stats displayed explicitly. Instead of numerical values, stats will have tiers varying from F to A. Depending on your party's stats, tags, and equipment tags, the system will determine…
- Dev Log #5 - 11 August 2025
Hello shopkeepers! Today we're sharing some of the first details regarding the Guild Hall Specialization! As we mentioned before, Specializations will allow you to change how your shop functions. We have many specializations planned, but the first one we decided to produce is the Guild Hall.If you've watched anime shows like Goblin Slayer or Konosuba, then you are familiar with the concept of the Adventurer's Guild. Generally, this involves a Quest Board on the wall of the guild where adventurers can visit and choose which quest they would like to undertake. That is precisely the Guild system we have planned for Loot Shop Simulator! We are introducing the first Specialization item, the Guild Quest Board.Every day in-game, the quest board will be populated with a random number of quests. Quests will vary in difficulty (indicated by the stars at the top-right) as well as duration and party…
- Wall & Floor Decor - Patch Notes - 31 July 2025
Hello shopkeepers! We are happy to announce that the first update for Loot Shop Simulator, version 0.2.1, is now live! This update covers a number of improvements, bug fixes, and includes new Wall & Floor decoration items.New Tile SystemsThe Wall & Floor Decor update features two new tile systems that were developed this month. These tile systems work independent of one another, meaning that bugs that may affect one system will not affect the other systems. The data for wall objects and floor objects is also separate from the data for NPCs and Furniture. Since NPC/Furniture require dynamic layering, separating the data means that the real-time processes for dynamic layering do not have to go through a bunch of data for items that won't ever change layers.CompendiumWe have also added the Compendium in this update. Here you can find information such as markup thresholds and the meanings be…
- Dev Log #4 - 28 July 2025
Hello shopkeepers! We're happy to announce that the Wall & Floor Decor update will be available this Thursday, July 31st! We're adding the final touches now and running our last tests.Last week we mentioned that next month's Guild Hall update will add over a dozen hours of content. The good news is that the full progression is now mapped out! As soon as the decor update is live, we'll dive straight into the art and code that will bring the Guild Hall to life. With Thursday's update and patch notes announcement, we're skipping next week's Dev Log. Dev Log #5 will be available on August 11th and will cover Guild Quests, the ranking system, NPC recruitment, and more. Thanks for all your support. See you on patch day!The Loot Shop Simulator Team
- Dev Log #3 - 21 July 2025
Hello shopkeepers!Last week’s development window was shorter than planned, but production is back to full speed. The Wall & Floor Decor update arrives next week, bringing new cosmetic options for both the Dragon & Witch sets. There's one other detail we'd like to address this week...On Content & PriceWe’ve heard the feedback that the current build feels light for the price. Early Access is, by design, a work in progress; the first major content expansion lands in August with the “Guild Hall” Specialization. That update adds new story beats, recruitable NPCs, quest boards, and new item sets - over a dozen additional hours of play with focused goals. After that update, we plan on adding many more Specializations which will completely change how you play the game. We're exploring things such as turning your shop into a restaurant, or even a card parlor with a fully functional CCG! We've alre…
- Dev Log #2 - 14 July 2025
Hello, shopkeepers!Week two of Early Access has been all about laying foundations for the next big milestones. This week we pushed the project forward in three key areas.#1 - Specializations Begin: Guild HallSpecializations are the deeper progression system that Loot Shop Simulator will offer. The first, Guild Hall, is now in active design. We're working on recruitable adventurers, competition against other (NPC) guilds, and new prestige décor! We are already laying the groundwork within the code for the long run, not just for the Guild Hall but for the Specializations system as a whole.#2 - Localization PrepWe’ve started to restructure data to make text extraction painless, setting the stage for full localization. This will help us make the step sooner, rather than later. In fact, we're already exploring possible localization to JP and ES within just a few updates! This is still months…
- Dev Log #1 - 7 July 2025
Greetings, shopkeepers! It’s been eleven whirlwind days since we opened the Early Access doors on June 26th and we’re delighted by the turnout! To everyone who jumped in, streamed the game, posted on the forums, or chatted with us on Discord: thank you. Your notes have already helped to shape our next build!Polishing the Core ExperienceDuring the Steam Next Fest, many of you told us the demo’s pacing felt a touch slow, or that some details were too vague. We tuned the Early Access build before launch with that in mind and the v0.2.1 update (currently in development) takes it further:Tutorial v2 – We have streamlined lessons for Shop Management and Customer Behaviors, paired with a fresh tutorial GUI. Tooltips – We have added contextual hints for buttons that only had icons. Checkout Minigame – Slight optimizations should make gameplay smoother as the shop grows in size. Decorations – Wa…
- Loot Shop Simulator --- Early Access Launch! - 26 June 2025
Hello shopkeepers! We are excited to announce that Early Access launch is within the hour! With this launch we have a few other announcements to make, so let's get started!Working On The Next Update! We are already working on the first update! The main feature that many people have requested, an Improved Tutorial, is currently in the works and will be part of the first update. We don't have a specific date but we will be structuring the development in order to be able to release updates periodically, every 2-4 weeks, depending on the amount of content. Here are some other features that will be coming in the first update:Tooltips when hovering things like Categories, Sorting options, and Menu buttonsA System button on the bottom-right Menu panelThe ability to place Wall & Floor furnitureNew Wall & Furniture itemsMost of these features are partially implemented, but we're still undergoing f…
