Hello again everyone! We’re back with another look behind the scenes. In case you missed the memo last time, we’re aiming to keep these as spoiler free as possible. But still, should you want to experience the game completely fresh – please stop reading now! We’re still working through our Alpha phase, tuning mechanics, refining visual detail, and bringing ideas into engine bit by bit. Below we’ve included glimpse into what’s cooking. Work on CropsMaybe not a surprise, but we’re putting a lot of work into the crops in the game. In particular how their growth and health responds to the players performance. One of our main design goals is to make this part of the game deeper than most farming games, so a lot of factors will influence how they are doing, from pests and compost to flooding. From a design perspective, if the player should be able to learn what makes them thrive, they need to…

  • Forget Stardew Valley's cozy vibes. New farming sim Crop keeps you "on edge," and I can't get enough of it - 9 April 2026

The cozy vibes of Stardew Valley can make farming feel like a breeze, even in the tougher seasons. As someone who looks after their own garden and grows the odd tomato plant, I know that isn't always the reality. Tending to your land sometimes means being out there in the freezing damp and the fog, but it's all part of the experience. Nothing I have to deal with is a patch on what you'll face in Crop , however. This new farming game traps you in a nightmarish trudge, weaving the uneasy rural vibes of Twin Peaks and the eldritch curiosities of Dredge into an oppressive twist on the format that's got me completely hooked. • Introducing Our Game - Crop - 9 April 2026

Hi everyone! We’re Carbonara Games, a small team of three indie developers from Oslo, Norway, and we’re excited to finally share that our passion project - a creepy game about farming, of all things - has officially come to life! You can now wishlist Crop on Steam and follow our page for more updates, which will be shared soon in the form of dev updates in the Community Hub. This project started as our shared dream to carve out our own corner within a genre we love - taking its familiar core and wrapping it in surreal dread, thriller tension, and an eerie atmosphere that farming games have never quite ventured into. We feel incredibly fortunate to also announce that we are partnering with 11 bit studios, who are our official publisher. Check out our reveal trailer from the Triple I event on YouTube: 🌱 What is Crop about?Bound to a dying farm, you must dig, plant, irrigate, and harvest…
