The Honours Project is an autobiographical walking simulator about a moment where I was struggling to come up with an idea for my University project in 2024. You are tasked with helping, by inspiring me with music. Enjoy a narrative experience by adventuring through dream-like levels, solving an occasional puzzle and listening to the dark and sometimes comical dialogue that acts as a commentary about being a student and game development. Move along at your own pace, enjoy the audio experience in a fully 3D soundscape. Find notes that explore extra lore, and get an extra sense of who I am. The year was likely the toughest I have ever faced, and I wanted to depict these moments as an audiovisual experience with light puzzle mechanics and gameplay. The game takes around about 25 to 35 minutes to complete. The aim of this game was to help others who are in education to understand that it is okay not to know, and that the ideas will come. I too wanted to express myself in the only way I know how, and figured this would be the best platform to be able to do so. Voice work done by the talented Josef Boon While the game is completed, I am still relatively new in the world of game development and I expect bugs and issues, which I will hopefully have a chance to iron out. I am also not the best at optimizing due to Audio Design and narrative being my field of expertise.
