Mid September Monstro, along with its soundtrack, will become free on Steam. I will also release the sources for this game on GitHub - expect another announcement soon. But why? It's really about three things: money, statement and promoting my upcoming new release. So let's break it down! Money: I haven't earned anything from this game in years and while I don't mind it, it's a bit of a painful reminder of all the things I regret with this project. I had an offer or two of some suspicious people wanting to buy the game off me for some extra cash, but that's where the second part comes in. Statement: my qualms aside, it was still a project I invested considerable time into. While there is an amount of money I'd be willing to accept to part with it, it's not something anyone would offer for it. I want people to be able to play it. Monstro: Battle Tactics was just updated to 1.0.4 and among other things, thanks to a collaboration with Seespace Labs units in Monstro now have voices (which you can conveniently disable if you find them not to your liking. The full changelog: - Unit voices added - "Wait for tap" is now by default disabled - "Wait for tap" should now react to all keys and mouse inputs - Pause menu can now be opened at all times - You can press "Q" from the victory/failure screen to quickly undo your last move without having to engage mouse - You can now press any key to skip/accelerate the victory/failure screen animation In other important news starting Monday we're running a week-long discount, so share the news with your friends!

We just posted a quick update to 1.0.2 which includes: - Ability to scroll using arrows - Option to toggle the old, drag'n'drop controls (experimental! It's possible there might be trivial bugs and visual glitches) - Sound effects volume now affects the dubbing in outros/intros - Retrocade logo volume is affected by the music volume - Display Options have been added where you can more easily toggle between full-screen (it also informs you that you can use F10 for this) - Added a volume preview when changing sound volume If by any chance you don't see/get the update immediately try the Verify Integrity of Game Cache option from Local Files tab in game's Properties window.
