- Telltale’s Choices Matter Festival - 10 August 2026
WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE???Hi, this is Max, the writer of Deep Pixel Melancholy. A long time ago, starting with the first season of The Walking Dead, I played Telltale games and took notes on how to create branching stories. Back then, I was still in school and could never have imagined that one day I’d take part in a festival with a game selected by Telltale themselves. But it happened. The festival has already started, and we’re part of it. To me, this feels like huge recognition of everything our team has achieved together, and I’m insanely excited to see what comes from it.So, if you still haven’t played Deep Pixel Melancholy (which is now available in four languages), go check it out. Telltale approved. What more proof do you need that we made a cool game?!https://store.steampowered.com/sale/Choices-Matter-FestivalWe’re around, but now it’s back to putting scenes together and…
- Spanish Localization and a New Demo - 9 August 2026
More exciting news: Deep Pixel Melancholy now has a European Spanish translation. Our friend Tobías J. Barbaria Álvarez is helping us with it. Along with the Latin American Spanish translation by Auster Translations, both languages are already available in the demo!We hope and believe this will help Deep Pixel Melancholy reach a wider audience. We’ll find out soon. Either way, Spanish is simply a beautiful language, and with our limited resources (both financial and time related) we’re just happy that we can translate the game into it.More exciting news is coming very soon, so stay close.Hugs
- Tiny Teams is back! - 6 August 2026
Guys, Deep Pixel Melancholy is once again taking part in one of the coolest festivals, Tiny Teams!Last year, Rythian and Kirsty, aka crustydoggo from Yogscast, played our demo, and it was a lot of fun.We don’t know whether the game will make it onto the stream this year, but we’re shocked and happy just to be part of the festival. So check out the festival page and tune in on Twitch to see more games, but don’t forget about ours either
- Latin American Spanish - 30 June 2026
Hi, friends! We want to share some good news. A couple of wonderful people from Auster Translations, Milagros and Francisco, are helping us. Thanks to them, Deep Pixel Melancholy will soon speak one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, Latin American Spanish! We also should mention that there's a chance we might not be able to add the translation by release. That's entirely our responsibility, since every text block has to be added manually because of the game's architecture. However, we'll do our best to have Latin American Spanish available at launch.Stay tuned, and see you soon
- We updated the demo 🎬 - 11 June 2026
We added a new route, updated the art, and polished the text. We took a lot of feedback into account, and now the first chapter has reached its final form. There have also been a lot of changes under the hood: the save system has changed, the code is cleaner, and overall we did a lot to make the game more stable and harder to break. If you still haven’t played DPM, go download the demo and enjoy it!!! Cool down during these summer days and leave your feedback. By the way, there’s a whole tread for that in the Community Hub.See you!

You’re awesome, and we really appreciate you believing in us. THANK YOU!And here’s a nice little spoiler for those who open Steam and read our news: we’ll update the demo in the next few days. We’ll share all the details later, but for now, we’re sending hugs and wishing you a peaceful night or a good morning.— Dima and Max
- What’s new with us? #2 - 29 April 2026
Choo choo, hey everyone. It has been a while since the last update, so here we go. Since the start of the year we have been steadily working through the planned content, and also came up with a bunch of new ideas we did not plan at first. Hope you will like them, it is going to be very narrative heavy. Honestly, it is kind of crazy how much you can do in Construct 3, that is the engine we are using for DPM.Here is what is going on in more detail.— 4 out of 5chapters are written. The fourth one turned out even bigger than the third. They will probably take about the same time to play, but the fourth has more branching.— Art is almost done. We only have a few big locations and some simpler backgrounds left. Maybe we will add a bit more, but either way we are close to the finish line here.— Our friends from Gameowdio made a few more tracks for us and added a lot of sound. The sound design f…
- Happy New Year! - 31 December 2025
No extra words, folks. Spend the New Year with your loved ones, playing games, having fun with strangers, or sitting with family. Just do it the way you want. And let the gloom fade away, with melancholy staying only in beautiful images on the screen.Take care, happy New Year, and see you around.
- What’s new with us? - 18 December 2025
Hi to all fellow melancholy lovers. First things first, here’s some fresh, life-affirming art ːcupheadːThis is a scene from the first chapter and it will be in the game at release. If you played the demo, you might guess where you can reach it ːcool_explorerːNow to the important part. How is the project doing? We haven’t been sitting around. Right now more than half of the content is done.— Art is the furthest along. Most of the backgrounds are already drawn and animated, though a lot still needs tuning inside the engine. At the same time we’re actively fixing bugs, adding sounds, and slowly polishing everything.— The story is fully planned and written in draft form all the way to the end. We know the endings, the main character’s arc, all the branches, scene details, basically everything except a couple of mini games. Two out of five chapters are finalized, and the third one is current…
- We’ve reached 15,000 wishlists! - 8 October 2025
Wow, that's amazing! Truly, incredibly amazing. Thank you all for the emotions and the support. None of this would have been possible or even meaningful without you. Any creative project is never made just for itself, but always for the people who connect with it.When we were preparing to announce Deep Pixel Melancholy, our plan was something like: “Well, it would be great to hit a thousand wishlists in a couple of weeks, maybe a bit longer, and if we reach seven thousand by release, we’ll be over the moon.”But then we hit over 1,000 wishlists in two days, 3,000 in two weeks, 7,700 in a month, and 10,000 in a month and a half. And now, four and a half months later (exactly 140 days!), we’ve reached 15,000. That number alone gives us vertigo. The whole team is beyond happy and allows itself a little pride.Of course we’re not stopping here. We’ll keep growing the Deep Pixel Melancholy comm…
