- Final Demo Update Before Full Game Release! - 26 July 2026
Demo update v0.5 has just been released! This is the final demo update before Copperfell's full release, which will be coming out later this year. Hopefully, I'll be able to give you an exact release date soon. While finishing off the main game's content, I've added a bunch of the new features to the demo too. The more playtesting, the better! You will also see more greyed out content in the game UI, in preparation for the full release. As you may have noticed, I've changed the Steam art assets to newer, nicer ones as well. These are the biggest features included in this update:Loot TabYou will now find a loot info tab when clicking on the trophy icon button in the bottom right of the screen. This tab contains a list of all major mobs in the game, and also all unique loot that each mob can drop. You'll be able to track how many of each type of mob you've killed, and your current drop rat…
- Demo Update: Improved Graphics (DLSS5) and Skill Recipe Panel - 25 April 2026
The Copperfell Demo has been updated to v0.4! Here's what's changed.DLSS5I have been working on improving the visuals for Copperfell. I made 5 main custom shaders, all part of a master graphics system I'm naming "Dynamic Lowkey Sussy Shading 5™" (DLSS5). Here are the 5 main components of this system, showcased with a before and after so you can see the differences more easily.Color CorrectionEach realm now has a slight color tint to make it more defined. The surface realm has a warmer hue now. I also upped the exposure and modified the shadows and highlights. Finally, I also added a vignette-like effect where areas closer to the edge of the screen are less vibrant than the middle portion.Ambient OcclusionI made a fake-ambient-occlusion-like shader so that most world objects and buildings have a darker tint near the boittom, while their colors get brighter near the top. This makes them p…

- First Bug Fix Update! - 15 October 2025
First of all, thanks for the lovely reception to the Copperfell Demo so far! It's been nice seeing you play the game.I plan to keep updating the demo with more fixes and improvements as they come up. But there was a particular major bug that I had to fix ASAP, which is why I just released this quick patch - officially v0.1.1!The bug could potentially cause some data to fail to save, so you'd end up losing it when loading the game again. It mostly affected not-very-useful data such as the position of some NPCs or the depleted status of some resources. However, in rare cases and under some unlucky circumstances, it could also affect items in your inventory, so you could end up losing some of your items.I only got one single report of item loss so far, which turned out to be really helpful when finding the cause of this bug, so I also want to thank everyone for all the feedback I've receiv…
- Steam Next Fest is now live! - 13 October 2025
The Steam Next Fest is finally underway! Please feel free to try out the Copperfell Demo. Any feedback, whether it be questions, suggestions, criticism, bug reports, or anything else, would be appreciated! You can leave your comments in the replies to this post, or else you can join the Copperfell Discord server, or @ me on X / Twitter:Discord server - https://discord.gg/k6C7WPwc5UX - https://x.com/grandayy The plan is to have save games remain compatible (and automatically sync) with the final release in the future, so any grinds you make in the demo should be safe! While the demo has unlimited playtime, the final release of the game will have much more content than what is available in the demo. This is a general list of what new content you can expect in the full release:- Much bigger world with more biomes, villages and cities- Higher tiered resources and items available for each sk…
- Free Copperfell Demo now Available! - 1 October 2025
In preparation of the Steam Next Fest, a playable demo of Copperfell is now available for free! The Next Fest launches in around 2 weeks but you can still start playing the demo right now. It has no time limits so you can play it for however long you want. Note that the amount of content that will be available the final released version of the game is much greater than that available in this demo.Just click the blue "Play Demo" button on the side of the Copperfell store page to get started! Some immediate improvements from the game trailer and screenshots you may notice are a shader that adds noise to the game textures, and another shader that renders nicer shadows that are based on the shape of the objects themselves. I hope you'll enjoy the free demo. Please feel free to leave any feedback, suggestions, or bug reports in the replies down below! You can also follow the progress of game d…
