Patch NotesWe've spent a lot of time testing the game and carefully reading your feedback. Thanks for playing and sharing your thoughts with us - it genuinely helps us improve the experience. We know the demo still has its rough edges, and we're steadily working through the biggest issues and bugs. Here's what's changed in this update:1. Improved bot death animationsFixed issues that caused bots to die in unnatural ways. Their deaths now look much more believable, making combat feel smoother and more immersive.2. Dynamic crosshair systemCrosshairs now disappear while aiming down sights, giving a cleaner and more intuitive shooting experience.2.1. Weak spot indicator When your crosshair is over a bot's weak spot, it now turns red to indicate that you're dealing critical damage. As a reminder, standard Rippers have two weak spots:HeadCore3. Terminal interactions are now availableYou can now…
- Devlog #4 - 13 May 2026
So, hackers, have you missed us? This is our latest devlog, where we'll tell you how development is progressing.Testing MultiplayerA good game requires good, stable communication. Of course, we still have work to do, but we can now connect and run around together while testing the map and everything else. We're currently testing everything internally to minimize the risk of problems for players.Testing AIOur robots are no longer stupid kittens running into walls, but we still have some room for improvement!Apparently, the robots are turning out quite aggressive — they chase you, pounce on you, and hit you endlessly. You can also run into a Legionnaire, and if that happens, it would be best to have a time machine so we could rewind to that wonderful time before we saw his iron face.Testing DevelopersWe actually conduct a secret study on our developers to see how well they work. Here's some…
- Devlog #3 - 21 April 2026
It's been a month since the last devlog, and the guys woke me up to write a new one. We've completed the main phase of mission development for the alpha version of the game, and now we're polishing everything, testing, and fine-tuning processes.NavigationFor the player to know where they are in space, good navigation is essential. And now we have it! The player can see where they are, making it easier for them to navigate rooms. It would also be nice to know where their teammates are.UI and Loading ScreensWe're trying out different images for the loading screen. It seems like a small thing, but they're what you see while you wait for the game to load. And if before our ancestors looked at rock paintings, now there is something more interesting. For now, we're making do with art drawn by our artist, but who knows, maybe in the future we'll leave you with secret messages. For now, we have…
- Devlog#2 - 15 March 2026
Greetings, young hackers! We are currently fully immersed in development — working on visuals, coding, and scattering bodies across the levels... In short, we are doing everything in our power to recreate a sci-fi atmosphere with elements of desolation. So, what new things have we accomplished lately? The robots are fighting — and they’re actually pretty good at itIt’s never pleasant to be grabbed by the scruff of the neck! Especially when the one doing the grabbing is a three-meter-tall, armed robot. To call it "scary" would be an understatement. It evokes, rather, that indescribable horror of which Lovecraft spoke. After all, AI, too, fancies itself a god — in a sense. Hacker Mode Our little pride and joy and a crucial element of the game is Hacker Mode. It highlights objects you can interact with: enemies, doors, terminals, and more. We want to make hacking feel realistic, yet not ov…
- FAQ - 23 January 2026
Top Frequently Asked Questions. When is the release? Planned for the end of 2026. Which platforms will the game be on? For now, we’re aiming only for Steam. If anything changes — we’ll let you know. Player count and modes? It’s a co-op shooter, so it’s best to bring some friends. If you play solo — bots will join you. But keep in mind the whole idea is about teamplay, and with real people it’s way more fun. You can always find teammates in our Discord - https://discord.com/invite/tUrKgZBuSC Will there be a story? The game is not story-driven. There’s some lore, but no global goal like “save the world” or “defeat the main boss”. Every mission is a new challenge and a new level of difficulty. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask them in the comments Will there be demos and playtests? Yes, we’re planning both closed and open demos and playtests. Keep an eye on Steam and ou…
- Happy New Year! - 30 December 2025
We’d like to wish everyone a Happy New Year — and share some statistics and insights from our team.In October, Protocol: Terminate launched its Steam page. In just over two months, the game has accumulated more than 15,000 wishlists. Is that a lot or a little? It’s not for us to judge, of course — but we’ve noticed a certain level of interest from the audience, and that’s encouraging.Of course, we want the project to be successful; after all, it’s our brainchild, and we’ve been developing it for over six months. But we also hope that people will genuinely enjoy playing it — not just buy it and forget about it.We’ve built a small, but engaged, audience: people who write to us, provide feedback, and help us understand what’s working and what isn’t. Recently, for example, we launched a survey that gives players automatic access to future playtests.Right now, we’re actively preparing for th…
- Devlog #1 - 25 December 2025
Merry Christmas! We've prepared a short devlog for those who want a behind-the-scenes look.Terminals. Even more terminals. We're almost finished with the terminals, and it seems like there are a lot of them. Luckily for us, the terminals, doors, and some other systems aren't connected to the rebellious AI, so there's nothing to worry about. At least for now...Putting the location together. The first location to appear in the demo is a base in the snowy mountains. It seems like not only a convenient and beautiful place, but also a place where something is bound to go wrong. Huge iron doors, bright lights, and thick walls, behind which no one can hear your screams...How do you like this format? Let us know if you enjoyed it and what else you'd like to see. Also, don't forget to follow us on social media, where we publish more interesting content.
- Hacking in Protocol: Terminate - 15 December 2025
Sometimes you need to solve a simple problem — but there are also situations where you have only 3-5 seconds before you’re discovered and must hack something. Feel that chill down your spine? This isn’t just a brainstorming session anymore. You need a cool head — but you’d better hurry before you’re caught. How do you solve a problem when your life — and those of your teammates — are on the line?Take a deep breath. Calm down before you tackle the task. Otherwise, you risk dying because you panicked and couldn’t turn the key properly.Enlist support. Don’t shoulder all the responsibility yourself. If your job is to hack, let your teammates watch for enemies and cover your back. Focus only on what you can control. If something doesn’t work, don’t blame yourself — just try again. Self-flagellation won’t help. You can always cry about it later. Take a breath, refocus, and give it another shot.…
- The emergence of a threat - 26 November 2025
The robots at the stations were created for various purposes. Some served as guards; others, as assistants. Only one robot was created by the AI itself as its "avatar" - the Legionnaire. This three-meter-tall steel killer embodies the idea of endless war. It constantly hunts down players, destroying their traps while setting its own. It reshapes the environment to suit its needs, leaving less time for reflection - and fewer chances to survive. The only robot created by the AI to kill people. Will you find a way to defeat it? Is there even a chance?
- Protocol: Halloween - 31 October 2025
BOO!I mean... hello!Happy Halloween! We wish you as many candies as possible and as few stomach problems as possible. For this holiday, we decided to share and show off some of the horror that awaits you in the game: What a cutie! One of the enemies in our game likes to rummage through corpses. Why would a robot do that? Who knows, maybe he's got some marbles stuck in his rollers...Fast and tall, the robot has very long, clawed arms, capable of piercing or tearing his prey in half. Initially, his creepy appearance was meant to scare terrorists and criminals, but he ended up scaring everyone. They usually travel in pairs or lie in wait in dark corners. You may have already seen these guys on our social media. And I still can't figure out what to call them – bugs or spiders? These tiny, insect-like iron creatures were originally created to catch rats! Yes, even such things have been optimiz…
