- Heist.exe is One Year Old! - 30 June 2026
Greetings, Agents!I can't believe how fast time flies. It's been a year since Heist.exe released in Early Access! I honestly don't have much to say in this post, but I'd like to start by saying thank you. Thank you for giving the game a shot, and for following it for as long as you have (or whichever applies to you). Also, as a week and a half ago, I've resumed regular development of the game. Please stay tuned for a development update in a few weeks which will show new content coming to the game. How polished it'll be, I can't say, but I'm excited to show more of what's planned for the game's next major update. And that's it! Just wanted to say I'm still working away and that I appreciate all of you for your support, plays, and feedback. Have an amazing day!
- Full Game Delay + Dev Progress - 7 February 2026
Greetings, Agents.I'll get straight to the point: Heist.exe is not going to be released in Q1 - Q2 like I estimated. It’ll take way longer to fully release the game than just a few months, maybe not even until the end of the year. While I would have liked to release sooner, the game is just not that close to being finished. The fact of the matter is that there’s still a lot I feel needs to be done before considering the game ready for release. Don't worry, I'm not getting lost in an ever-expanding scope for the game. The content and features I’ve planned for the game haven't been added to all that much (although some aspects like exact level count are now up in the air). There are just a lot of factors limiting development, and I would like to provide more transparency on the reasons why I’m delaying Heist.exe’s full release. This post is going to be longer than usual, so buckle up.Limiti…
- Early Access Patch 0.2.1 (Hotfix) - 1 November 2025
Greetings, Agent! I've amped up security within the networks so those NETBots can keep out that nasty security vulnerability. For more information, please visit the most recent announcement at this link. Good luck out there!
- Hotfix (Early Access 0.2.1) Patch Notes - 1 November 2025
Greetings, Agents! On October 31, 2025, a new version of Heist.exe will be released. This update is a hotfix to address a security vulnerability found in games made in particular Unity versions. Please note that after this update, the game will still be in Early Access and no major content has been added.Patch NotesGameplay Changes Additionally, the following changes have been made to the gameplay experience:Tweaked the way the game detects player movement input, improving responsiveness for when the player can drop a possession they're holding after they stop moving. When moving Agent Tehsi using keyboard, the game applies extra acceleration to her when she starts or stops moving (compared to controller). Previously, there was some unintended lag before you could drop a possession, but from my testing this issue has been resolved (please let me know if you experience otherwise!).The way…
- Full Game Delayed + Hotfix Patch - 22 October 2025
Greetings, Agents!I apologize for the silence over the past couple months. Due to some life obligations (such as work and other professional endeavors) and some personal matters, I've taken a longer break from developing Heist.exe than I would've liked. For this reason, I must delay the game's release.Previously, I stated that the game would remain in Early Access for about 4-5 months, following its initial release in June. I'm now estimating the game will need somewhere from late Q1 to early Q2 of 2026, to be finished. I can't make any hard promises, but should this prediction change, I'll let you all know as soon as possible. Please forgive me.That being said, I resumed development about a week ago. I've finished refreshing myself on the game's code base (yeah, it's been a little while), so I will now go back to more regularly scheduled research, planning, and development to deliver t…

- Early Access Version 0.2.0 Patch Notes - 15 August 2025
Greetings, Agents! On August 15, 2025, a new version of Heist.exe will be released. This update focuses mainly on visual changes, such as to the game's levels and fonts. Additionally, I've made some audio and gameplay changes to improve your play experience. Please note that after this update, the game will still be in Early Access and no major content has been added. For more information on what's been updated, please review the notes below.Patch NotesVisual ChangesThe following changes have been made to the game's visuals and aesthetics:The networks (levels) and various objects therein now contain new wireframe materials! These materials are meant to make the game's settings look like they're inside computer simulations. Some objects that have been changed include the walls surrounding the levels and most level art, like the display cases, large pyramids, large flower pots, and plants.M…

Greetings, Agents!I'm happy to announce that Heist.exe is now available in Early Access! Also I wanted to say thank you for showing interest in the game, and for your patience. I hope what you're able to play in this release has been worth the wait.Throughout the next few weeks, please stay tuned for updates to the game. They may range from small tweaks to major changes to aspects like gameplay or visuals. - Heist.exe Early Access Delay - 14 June 2025
Greetings, Agents! The Early Access release of Heist.exe has been put on hold until further notice. Why? Well unfortunately, for the third time Steam was unable to run the review build through the steam client. My attempts at fixing this issue failed.I believe trust is built on honesty and transparency, so I'm unable to confirm a release date at this time. What I am able to do is take responsibility for not properly configuring the game's launch settings. BUT, with time--hopefully no more than a week or two--I will get this issue fixed, and the heist will begin in earnest! And once the review build gets approved, I will hit the launch button and let you all know it's out.As excited as I was to release the game today, there's nothing I can do besides fix the problem in front of me. Please wait a little longer until I'm able to fix it. Thank you for your patience. That's all, Agents. Take c…
- GCC Announcement and Early Access - 13 June 2025
Greetings, Agents! As of the time you're reading this, Game Con Canada will likely have started. That means you can try out Heist.exe in the Indie expo ALL WEEKEND! So get ready for high-tension stealth gameplay and escapes you won't forget, because the Heist is ON. Of course, and regardless of whether you'll try the game out at GCC or not, I also hope you're raring to go for the Early Access release at 11:59 PM, EDT (check your time zone accordingly)! That's still the plan, at least; in getting the game's build reviewed, Steam has had trouble launching the game from the Steam client specifically. The game is being reviewed for the third time, and I'm pretty sure the problem has fixed. I should know by today, but even if I don't, I'll update you all accordingly. Please reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions. That's all, agents. Let's bounce!
