• Thalassic Dice Dev Update #2 - 30 January 2026

  Ahoy!Just checking in with an update on Thalassic Dice and an Island sneak peak! Since the last update the main focus has been getting the Demo ready for everyone to try out. The current status on that is that the encounter portion of that is done, my main area of focus now is the Island Hub area. A lot of Art, UI and design work on progression through recruiting crew, upgrading the ship, and resources. There's a little sneak peak of the island in the gif above and a very early look at crew upgrades UI below (both work in progress)While work is going well, there were some personal issues at the end of last year that meant I had to miss a few months of development. I am a solo dev, so unfortunately that means the timeline has been pushed back a bit, but I'm excited to show more of the game in the near future!   Ahoy! It's been a busy few weeks since announcing Thalassic Dice and I'd like to thank everyone for the kind words and excitement for the game! I've been hard at work focusing on implementing feedback that I got after launching the steam page, so here's some highlights from that! Dev LogI've focused a lot on visual effects, improving how the game looks and adding some much needed movement!Screen Shake + damage particles when the ship takes damageWeather Effects (snow, rain, heat distortion, etc. )Added some movement to the Sails of the ShipI've updated the die model and textures to better fit the visual theme.
