  Thanks to everyone who's been playing TR-49 so far! We've been busy collating feedback, tightening screws, replugging wires, so we can now bring you: The CALIBRATION revisionThe Settings menu (ESC key) now offers two new tick-boxes. 1) Reduce HintsFor those who like a more deductive, less-directed experience, you can remove the in-game hint systems and reminders. Once you're through the tutorial, it'll also remove the highlight state from the intercom, to reduce the pressure to use it (unless you feel like talking).2) Remove Glitch EffectsEveryone loves old tech, but it's not always comfortable. If the screen movement was giving you issues, tick this box to reduce the ambient animation for a more crisp on-screen reading experience. We hope this lets you enjoy TR-49 the way you want to.

  We're blown away by the reception to the game. If you've played, please take a moment to leave us a review, as they really help give small releases visibility. But onto the main info: Hotfix 1.0.7 includes: a fix for a \ birthdatealternative renderer if the machine screen stays black (enabled by adding --rendering-driver opengl3 to the launch options for the gameNote we've seen some people whose machine screens simply aren't there - it seems that updating graphics drivers fixes that issue, and you won't need the alternative renderer in this build

• 1.0.6 - Minor Hotfix - 22 January 2026

  This is a minor update only. Slightly less corruption towards the end-game for players who are resorting to brute-force. Move static SFX to the SFX volume slider, and reduce walkie talkie crackle volume. Fix for un-closeable popups.

  I don't actually know that my late great-uncle worked at Bletchley. But the available evidence suggests he did. Here's what I do know. I inherited a few things when he died - not in his will, but just collected from his attic. One of these is significant, and linked.There was a card table (I used it for a computer keyboard); several decks of cards (useless, all missing a single card); a set of bridge score pads (bridge is an incredible game); and a heavy metal box. Really heavy: we moved it from Manchester to Scotland when the family relocated, it took two of us to lift. (Not two removal men, obviously. those guys can lift washing machines.) The box sat in my bedroom when I was a teenager; I put a lamp on top it. The lock is unlike anything I've seen elsewhere: one catch with two letter dials, one catch with two numbers, and they both have to be right to open.I think my uncle must have…
