• New Mouse & Trackpad Controls - 14 May 2026

  During the recent public playtest, I noticed that quite a few players were trying to play Marblearium with keyboard and mouse and were having a hard time steering the marble with WASD.Since the camera is handled automatically anyway, I had the thought: What if the marble could simply be controlled directly with the mouse itself?It took maybe one minute to implement.You now steer the marble by moving the mouse, jump with the left mouse button, and open the menu with the right mouse button.Somehow it feels weirdly natural.Especially on a laptop trackpad, it almost feels like “petting” the marble through the environment or gently nudging it along the track.Honestly, it feels surprisingly good.

  Hi everyone,Thanks so much for all the feedback so far.I’ve just pushed a small update focused on improving movement feel and consistency when playing with keyboard controls (WASD).Marblearium is primarily designed around analog controller input, but keyboard support is important to me as well, and I’ll continue improving it throughout the playtest.If you tried keyboard controls before, it may already feel better now.Thanks for playing and for helping shape Marblearium 💛Malte

  When I looked back at marble games (for example, Marble Blast Gold was preinstalled on my girlfriend’s PC back in 2006 (now my wife)), they often featured abstract platforms and third-person or top-down cameras. Even so, they were already relaxing. With Marblearium, I wanted something different: the fascination of real marble tracks, captured through cinematic cameras.What was it that made you like marble games? And what was it that you missed?

  Earlier today I was thinking about how Marblearium can calm the nervous system.That is actually what I would really like to achieve with this game, but I’m wondering whether this is possible in a meaningful way to balance challenge and calmness without losing the player’s attention.These are the things I’m thinking about while preparing the next build for the playtest.
