• Demo Version is getting an upgrade! - 17 September 2026

  I've been doing a lot of work on Vector Seven recently, so the old Nextfest Steam demo has been revamped to bring it up to date with the latest version of the game.The biggest change is the ship handling, I've spent a lot of time tweaking how the ship moves, accelerates and builds up speed, and it now feels much faster and more responsive. The new thrust system takes inspiration from classic arcade games and lets you really get some speed up when you need it.I've also been working on the general flow of the game, improving enemy waves, pacing and encounters, along with lots of visual and audio tweaks and smaller fixes. The demo is just a taster, so its designed to let you get the feel of the game and try out some of the different weapons upgrades.Basically, the old demo was starting to feel a little behind the full game, so it needed a proper refresh!The updated demo has:New ship handli…

• New Box Art - 16 August 2026

  The Steam page just got an upgrade with a new, more detailed box art for Vector Seven! This new artwork updates the original art and is designed to capture the feel of classic arcade titles like we used to play on the Atari and Commodore 64.Rendered using Blender, the new art updates the spaceships with more detail and helps visualise the differences between the Vorton Armada and the heroic Delta-wings of the Galactic Vanguard.We've been hard at work on the new levels and enemy types, and have some great things to show you. • Rockets Galore! - 7 November 2025

  Taking out Vortan ships got an upgrade with the addition of targeting missiles. These powerful secondary weapons can help pick off approaching squadrons and give you an edge when it comes to dealing with interceptors!Just one of the upgradeable weapons available in the full game.

  Defending the colony against the Vortan Armada is now helped by the addition of some ground support flak cannons. These powerful weapons will help pick off approaching squadrons and give you a little backup while you deal with those interceptors!Available in the demo build now and ready for testing.

• NEXTFEST DEMO IS LIVE! - 13 October 2025

  The first playable demo for Vector Seven is live for NextFest. Featuring part of the first level this demo is intended to give a taster of what to expect from the full game.The demo is localised into all languages and optimised for 60fps on Steamdeck or PC desktop. If you have any suggestions, feedback, bug reports or questions please drop a message into the community area.The game is expected to be ready for release in January, and the full game will feature seven different planets, plus more weapons, power ups and enemies.
