We’re excited to share that Last Spaceship is officially Steam Deck Verified and also supports mainstream Windows handhelds. We’ve spent multiple rounds of testing and optimizing the game for handheld play. Controls are fully adapted for gamepad input, performance is smooth on Steam Deck’s default settings, and the interface has been optimized for smaller screens. Whether you’re playing at your desk or on the go, you’ll be able to experience the full journey aboard the Nüwa on launch day. If you encounter any issues on Steam Deck or other Windows handhelds, please let us know—we’ll continue improving the experience with future updates.

From a Rough Sketch to a Complete Spaceship.It took a long time for Last Spaceship to get to where it is today.A few years ago, it was still a massive, vague idea. I wanted to do everything, but ended up accomplishing nothing.Over time, we gradually came to understand what kind of game Last Spaceship was meant to be.By the end of 2024, development finally found its footing.Looking back at all these years, the biggest lesson I've learned is this: the hardest part of making a game is often not the technical work—it's persistence.

What may seem like a simple puzzle often requires multiple systems working together behind the scenes. Every compartment, clue, and interaction has gone through many iterations before reaching its final form. As a small team, development has been a constant process of experimentation, problem-solving, and refinement. Liu XuyangHi, I’m Liu Xuyang, the producer, designer, and artist behind Last Spaceship.I’ve worked in the game industry since 2010 as a concept artist, UI designer, and lead artist across a variety of projects. Outside of work, I’ve always loved adventure, exploration, puzzle, and action games. Series like Castlevania, Prince of Persia, Tomb Raider, Ace Attorney, and The Legend of Zelda have all had a big influence on me as both a player and a developer.Before Last Spaceship, I worked on two independent game projects that ultimately fell short of my expectations. While neither was successful, they taught me valuable lessons about game design, production, and scope.
