- Myrkwood: Offshoot (v11) - 6 September 2026
Hello everyone, here's a minor update, not much really to say about it, hopefully you have fun. The Bombrat King has been reworked and his attacks have been made more fair & sensical, he has only two attacks, at any range he'll fire Bombrat Mortars, mobs that fly up into the air and crash down onto the ground with an explosion. Additionally, he'll charge up a lunge when nearby and hit you hard. All Baubles have a spawn delay before shooting bullets so they feel slightly more fair. Sprint regeneration works while diagonal. Protector Golem defense has been lowered to 50. Killing the Bombrat King no longer crashes the game as a client on multiplayer. The game's resolution has been increased to 1920x1080, allowing for more higher quality graphics/HUDs making it easier to make UI for. The main menu's bestiary no longer LITERALLY LOADS the enemy and reads static data from a dictionary. Crabth…

Hello! It's been a while since I released the release build, here's an update, additionally, I'm announcing a mobile port of Myrkwood: Offshoot, hopefully you can get excited for that.Added a new boss system, every 20 waves on Defense a boss will spawn, the first boss added is the Bombrat King. The Bombrat King moves around the map spawning bombrats and will occasionally make shockwaves, it's up to you and your party to defeat the bombrat before his timer reaches down and he rushes the Gem and deals 50 HP to it.Made it so inventory slots when focused on controller won't expand in a weird way.Added chat to the pre game lobby allowing you to chat with players before you start your game.Allowed players to change options mid-game.Changed barrier text because it was too buggy.Made it so that rooms open instantly after defeating all enemies in a wave, additionally made it so that you can end…

Again, in response to v7, this is mostly bug fixes/balancing changes. Changes: Added more rooms to Solmere's Dungeon. Added Cactus Armor & Stone Longsword. Changed Dealmaker to Lucky Charm, which is meant to be better thematically. Fixed being unable to login to your Steam account on EOS. Fixed being unable to select your inventory items while playing, this is now fixed, you can now use the shoulders to select inventory slots instead of using the Left Shoulder to Sprint (which has been moved to Left Trigger). Additionally, we added a new dedicated button (Left Action Button on most controllers) to use your current item. Added a flick controller option, which allows you to change how you attack by letting go of the cursor to immediately attack, which might feel better for some. Added enemy source to the player damage method so that we can do stuff like damage reflection because I just re…

- Myrkwood: Offshoot (v4) - 29 September 2025
Nothing major this update, I recently got a review from a curator that made me take another look at the online multiplayer integration of the game and I'd like to address the issue ASAP. Changes: Fixed logging in Online mode with Steam sometimes inconsistently erroring. Added upgrades to the game, allowing your character to have superficial stat upgrades that you can purchase via the shop. Fixed certain rooms in Dungeons being too short to account for multiple players. Added pausing the game so you can exit to the main menu or exit the game entirely. Added a transition between levels so it smoothly transitions from the menu to the game. Fixed a little graphical bug with UI text being sorta blurry and low quality. Give another go at fixing the Barrier's text in Dungeons. Updated the gold count in the shop without having to reopen the menu. Made smoke appear on TOP of enemies and not belo…
- Myrkwood: Offshoot (v3) - 24 September 2025
Hello, this is the update adding the aforementioned new gamemode to the game: Dungeons. Dungeons is an endless dungeon crawler where you travel through randomly generated rooms and fight waves of monsters that spawn in those rooms. I made this gamemode because I felt like the game could definitely be expanded to be more interesting and replayable, hopefully you enjoy it. I'd like to take more time to test & thoroughly make sure this version works better than v2 which was super buggy and unfunctional, frankly. I'd love to also add a competitive gamemode in the future. I also added two weapons to the game: The Boomerang & Throwing Daggers. They both mixup the combat system with their own unique mechanics. I had a lot of fun playing around with this weapon. You can get these weapons by simply playing the game. You'll get a notification that you obtained a new weapon after 20 minutes of gam…
- Myrkwood Offshoot: v2 - 18 September 2025
Hello, I've been working on adding a new gamemode to the game, but in the meantime I'd like to send out this update to simply help with the launch of the Steam version of the game. Changes: Added a mode/map selector. Added the Desert map. Renamed the first map to Plains. Added Sprint key to Controls. The Gem can no longer die twice (causing two game overs). You have invincibility frames when respawning preventing unnecessary damage. Updated Godot Engine to 4.5 Updated EOSG to 2.2.4 Added a new variant of the slime called the Poison Slime, which has a 10% chance to deal damage per hit. Added Steamworks support to the game, which Rich Presence labels and such.
