- Making TypeCaster #1: How It All Started - 6 September 2026
Every game on Steam has a store page, a trailer, a release date. What it usually doesn't have is the story of the people who spent years arguing over game mechanics, sprite sizes, missed deadlines, and the philosophy behind their company name. That's what this series is for. In "Before Credits," YellowHearts sits down with the developers behind the games we publish and asks them to talk, really talk, about how they got here.TBA Studio didn't start as eight people. It started as seven, all founders, all classmates in Apple Developer Academy program. Five of the seven were actively building games together when they discovered a talented illustrator during the program and pulled her in too, bringing the count to eight.Today the roles look like this: Alfred is project manager and also handles game design, level design, and sound design. Vincent, Tessy, and Dixon are coders. Carlos and Jess s…
- TypeCaster Development Update: Introducing Elemental Color Accents - 1 September 2026
Hello everyone! Vincent here from TBA Studio. We want to share a quick update about a new visual thing we just added to TypeCaster. Some of you (who follow us on social media) might know that at the Gamescom event recently we launched the newest version of TypeCaster that comes with a "color" feature. Well, let us share the origin story of it to you guys. The decision to introduce this color element came up a while after our demo was released to the public. After evaluating the pains from our demo testers, we noticed many players have a hard time to identify the enemy's elements during combat. Because of this, we made a Reddit post a while ago asking your opinion about using specific color to identify elements. So we decided to implement it fully. Right now, all the colors included in the game are strictly tied to the elements. For example, you will see a green tone for the nature eleme…

- Development Update: Catching Up! - 6 July 2026
Hey everyone,It’s been a while since we posted something here, so we wanted to do a little catch-up.The last few months have been… a lot. In a good way, thankfully.First of all, TypeCaster finally has a publishing partner! We’re now working together with Yellow Hearts. Yeay! After that, things kind of moved pretty fast for us.In March, TypeCaster was selected for Tokyo Indie Game Summit as the only game from Indonesia. That was honestly a very special moment for us.Then in May, we brought TypeCaster to BitSummit in Kyoto. We met a lot of players, devs, and industry friends there. Watching people try the game in person, mess up some spells, laugh about it, then slowly get into the typing-combat rhythm was really fun to see.And in June, TypeCaster was also selected for SEA Game Showcase. So yeah, the past few months were pretty packed with event prep, showcases, travel, meetings, and a lot…
