- Yakuza Update - 21 September 2026
Yakuza UpdatePosted by: That One Guy Loki from That One Game StudioHey everyone just wanted to drop a little post on the latest update. Before I do though I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has played the game thus far and the feedback has been incredible. With all that feedback I have targeted some more polishing needs of the demo while I still work behind the scenes on the some full game content I'll tease at the end of this. Lets dive in to the latest changes!Furniture Placement EnhancementsAdjusting the layout of your shop and lining everything up perfectly should now be much easier. I have added some new snapping mechanics that have floor placed furniture follow the wall making it easier to line up directly against it instead of fumbling around trying to get it precise. Along with that I have also added snapping points to most of the furniture and I'll add more in the future…
- Quick Demo Fixes and Feedback tweaks - 16 September 2026
Patch NotesPosted by: That One Guy Loki from That One Game StudioHey guys this is a more rushed set of notes just to disclose the latest set of fixes and tweaks.Bug Fixes:Starting Basic Race Track Orderbox would not save from initial new game if it was never placed down before saving and reloading.Accessory items were resized as they didn't fit on the larger shelfKeybindings Settings menu didn't have the "Reset All" button in the ingame pause menu.Keybindings were also too restrictive causing issues with changing a single binding and not being able to reset that due to "overlapping" controls.New Stuffs:Shopper dialog when they offer you a part for sale now shows the market value of the itemSetting price menu now attempts to disclose the "Avg Cost" based on averaging out the different tiers of boxes to give you a better idea of markup profit. Somethings like the Race Tracks and Arcades f…
- Backroom Update - 9 September 2026
Backroom UpdatePosted by: That One Guy Loki from That One Game StudioThe highlight of this update is the new Car Collection Display Wall in the Staff Area but I also sprinkled in some other features as well that I'm excited to dive into. Before we do I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has given the demo a play this last week and I appreciate all the feedback I have received which has helped shape this update.Staff Area Car Collection Display WallThis is something i have put off for far too long but I really wanted to take your car collection and visualize in the shop instead of only being able to see it at a workbench or via the Backroom App. Now on the car shelves above the Staff Area Workbench any car you collect is displayed there. The cars can be rearranged or pulled off the shelf to take into the shop floor to sell on a stand or add to a display case. Most importantly t…
- Demo Launch September 1st - 30 August 2026
The Demo Launches September 1st!Posted by: That One Guy Loki from That One Game StudioThe day has finally come that the demo will be launching. After over a year of development and months of public playtesting we have made it. I'm excited to announce that Pocket Racer Shop Sim's Demo launches Tuesday, September 1st!The wait is only 3 days.I have been working heavily on refining the demo from all the playtest feedback. The biggest bit of feedback I received was around the multiplayer experience. "Why can't we run the shop together?" Well.... now you can.Multiplayer OriginsMultiplayer was originally designed around a simple idea and that was allowing players to join each other's shops as just a customer. You could purchase stock from the store and race against each on the tracks in the shop. The important piece was that you could take your offline save and join your friend online with you…

- Track Builder Update - 13 July 2026
Track Builder UpdatePosted by: That One Guy Loki from That One Game StudioHey everyone,I had originally planned for this update to come a little later, but I managed to wrap everything up sooner than expected.I'm also trying something new by moving toward more frequent, smaller updates instead of waiting for one huge monthly drop. It means you'll get new features in your hands sooner, and I get feedback a whole lot faster. This update is all about giving players more creative freedom, both on and off the track.Build Beyond the GridThe Track Builder has received one of its biggest upgrades yet.New 45-degree track pieces let you break away from the traditional grid and create layouts with much smoother flowing corners and entirely new track shapes. More Speed, More DramaPosted by: That One Guy Loki from That One Game StudioHey everyone,This month’s update is focused on something that sits right at the heart of the game. - Neighborhood Update - 23 February 2026
New Neighborhood Update And A Fresh Look for the ShopPosted by: That One Guy Loki from That One Game StudioHey everyone,I’ve been hard at work on something that’s been bothering me for a while… the world outside your shop. The old neighborhood served its purpose during prototyping, but it always felt like a placeholder. Functional, but not intentional so I finally ripped it out and rebuilt the area from the ground up.Welcome to the new neighborhood.A Japanese Inspired SettingThe shop now lives inside a more stylized, Japanese inspired street environment that better matches the tone and direction of Pocket Racer Shop Sim.The goal here wasn’t realism. It was personality.More atmosphereStronger visual identityA setting that feels like it belongs to this worldThis change helps ground the game in a clearer creative direction instead of feeling like a greybox prototype. - Developer Update #4 - 16 January 2026
New Year, Small but Important ImprovementsPosted by: That One Guy Loki from That One Game StudioHey everyone, and happy new year! Hope you all had a great holiday break and a smooth start to the year.I wanted to kick things off with a smaller progress update. Over the last little bit, development has been focused less on big flashy features and more on bug fixing, usability, and polish, especially around interactions players use constantly.Workbench Polish PassThe workbench also got another round of refinement.New additions include:Sound effects for part swapping, providing clearer audio feedback while tinkeringSubtle screen shake when swapping parts to add a bit more physicality and impactA new tooltip comparison view, showing the highlighted part side by side with the currently equipped partIf the screen shake is too distracting, it can be fully disabled in the settings menu. The goal…

UI / UX Overhaul Update ContinuedPosted by: That One Guy Loki from That One Game StudioHey everyone! Loki here againI wanted to share a progress update on something I’ve been spending a lot of time on lately, the game’s UI, visual style, and overall presentation. At this point the core gameplay loop is feeling solid and private playtests have been validating that the game is genuinely fun. Because of that, the focus has shifted hard toward polish and creative cohesiveness. This is the kind of work that is absolutely necessary as I move toward getting a demo polished and prepped.Leaning Into a Flashier, Anime Inspired StyleOne of the biggest changes happening behind the scenes is a shift toward a more anime inspired UI and presentation. This means:bolder shapes and panelsmore expressive motion and transitionsclearer visual hierarchyThe goal isn’t realism. It’s personality. I want the game…

Loki here again, your late night solo dev, shopkeeper, and proud owner of that cat who may or may not run the place now. I hope you all had an awesome Thanksgiving holiday! The goal here is to slowly lift the game out of its prototype feel and give it a more cohesive identity and something that fits the shop vi…

A cat that may or may not think your shop is their shop now. This update includes a whole new part type, a new boost mechanic, keybinding support, new shoppers, QoL fixes, and more.... but let’s be honest: the cat will probably steal the spotlight anyway. Welcome to Pocket Racer Shop Sim!Posted by: That One Guy Loki from That One Game StudioHey folks my name is Loki the solo dev, night owl, and long time lover of shop sims and small scale racing chaos. I’ve been quietly working away on Pocket Racer Shop Sim, a game about running your own hobby shop, cracking open part packs, tinkering on tiny race cars, and hosting race nights with your friends… all wrapped in a chill, cozy shop sim vibe. Thanks for checking out the project and I figured the first post should be a proper introduction to both the game and myself, so let’s jump in.What IS Pocket Racer Shop Sim?At its core, it’s a blend of:Shop Simulator: Stock shelves, design your shop layout, decorate the space, and keep your customers happy.Car Builder / Tinkerer Sandbox: Hunt for parts, open booster packs, compare stats, and build the perfect little racer.Track Designer: Use the editor t…
