• Update 1.611 - 31 October 2022

  This update addresses the recent shutdown of our previous account service provider, we have replaced the account system with a new provider and transferred over accounts saved from the old service to the new service. If you already had the game installed on your computer no action is necessary on your part, the account will automatically link to the new provider. If you are reinstalling the game, you can restore your account by clicking on your username in the main menu, pressing Recover Account and entering your email address used with your cloud cloud account. - Save games are never stored online so those would not be recovered - Remember that you can always unlock all game features if you prefer to skip the progression system via the options in the main menu The update also addresses issues with transports and changes the way transports are used in the game: - Transports do not parti…

• Account Service Migration - 10 October 2022

  The player account service we are using for storing accounts in the cloud has been shutdown by the operator unfortunately. We are in the process of migrating to a new provider and will shortly release a new version of both Battle Fleet 2 and Battle Fleet: Ground Assault. This update will allow you to recover an old account if you reinstall the game or install it on a new computer. If you use the same computer the migration should be automatic and not require any action on your part. However as the current service has been deactivated your account progress will not be saved to the cloud until the update is released (it will still be saved locally on your computer, so it won't affect gameplay however if you delete the game before the update is released the progress will be lost). Thank you for your patience and understanding.

• Update 1.604 - Free Virtual Reality Update, UI Tweaks, Gameplay Improvements, and Price Drop! - 14 March 2019

  Gameplay Update: Get closer to the combat than ever and play through the entire game in virtual reality! Works with HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets. Gameplay Update: Removed transports from battles. Transports will still be required in campaigns to take territories, but they will no longer take part in battles as they served little purpose in the battle and the odds of destroying them without first destroying all combat units was unlikely. UI Update: Added hidden zone icons to show areas that will provide fog of war cover to a vehicle. These will show up when you are in movement mode as a crossed out eye over the zone. If you move a vehicle into this zone, you will be hidden from the enemy but will still be able to see out of the zone. UI Update: Added a toggle for the "End Turn Confirmation" window. • Update 1.504 - 22 May 2018

  This is a small update that mainly addresses performance of the fog of war system to increase framerate when the fog is getting updated (ie when units are moving or when a battle starts). We're also working on a secret new feature and will be doing some testing with this version as it lays the groundwork for it. More on that in future announcements :)

• Why "Battle Fleet" for tanks? - 28 April 2018

  Battle Fleet: Ground Assault is the third game in our Battle Fleet series. The previous two games were focused on naval combat pitting WW2 era warships against each other, hence the "Fleet" name. As the games grew in popularity we wanted to expand the series to cover different types of battlefields and bring the unique gameplay mechanics of the series to land based tank battles. As a small indie team, starting with a new name or brand is an uphill battle (well, launching any indie game is an uphill battle, but a completely new name is even tougher), so we opted to stick with the same series name for this game to help connect with the existing community and let new players know that this game is part of a series.
