- The game is OUT NOW! - 1 April 2026
It's time to enter the Mental Palace and see for yourself what lies beyond its virtual walls... A mysterious place where each day lasts only seconds in the real world. But every choice made here will matter still. Will you manage to save your friend Luna and exorcise her Inner Demon? What are the terrible secrets hidden within the walls of her palace, of her mind, of her memories? You may soon find out!All of this supported by the amazing music of Thomas Lauret, who by the way just released his first single at the beginning of March. If you enjoy the music of this game, make sure to also check out his other works: it's different from what's here, but the talent is the same.I also have the pleasure to be in two bundles, with studios both telling memorable stories through their gameplay and having you face quite unsettling characters...I'll come back very soon with news about what's happe…
- We are having a Steam Playtest! - 19 March 2026
Hi there! As you may have seen on our page, we are running a final playtest on Steam. It will be live until March 21st, 11PM UTC+1.While the Demo was focused on the core gameplay loop of observing the Palace, learning more about each object and analyzing them, the Steam Playtest expands upon the major feature of the secondary gameplay loop: the dialogue.Originally, dialogue was meant to be semi-linear, with the bigger part being related to the current day in the palace. But we decided to go for a fully dynamic approach: now, you will get specific dialogue based on which objects you analyzed the most.Depending on how well received is that new design, we'd love to expand on it with post-launch updates as there are many exciting things to do with it and tie it to the other major systems of the game (observation, analysis and exploration). But for now, we hope you have a great time with the pl…

- The new capsule art is done ! - 10 December 2025
Hi there !If you visited this page prior to the 9th of december, you may have noticed that the ugly placeholder I made has finally been replaced by a much better looking version. There where 3 major challenges that I could not have overcome withouth the help of someone with strong art skills, to translate my intents into something tangible : Going for a rendering that does not feel too "digital painting" and more of a textured or "traditional" feel.Borrowing from the visual language of psychological horror but also from other aesthetics such as new-weird.Representing the game hook in both an appealing but still mysterious way. Here is an early sketch where we explored a more litteral approach to sacrificing objects (by "devouring" them) :To the final result where the relationship between the character and what she has in her hands gives more room for interpretations :I hope it leaves you…
- We just reached our first milestone ! - 7 November 2025
The concept phase is coming to an end. There was a lot of work to figure out the exact game experience I'm trying to go for, from nailing down the gameplay or major story beats to having a better direction for the art and audio. There are sadly no cool images to share at this point - unless you have a concept artist or are one yourself - and I'll spare you the design documents, rough sketches, flowcharts or ugly prototypes screenshots. That being said, two really talented people are joining me for the Demo production and I can't wait to share more exciting news about it ! Writing their Art and Audio Brief was a major challenge, but helped a ton to come up with a (hopefully) better gameplay. So, here are the major decisions that where made out of the concept phase. You will experience them once the Demo is out at the end of 2025/beginning of 2026 : Focusing the core loop on object analysis…
- What inspired this game ? - 30 September 2025
Hi everybody,Choose Your Own Alternative was announced a few days ago and I couldn't be more excited !Every month until release, I will dive into a specific topic about the game to cover many areas such as gameplay, content, storytelling and so on. But for this first post, I'd like to take a step back and talk about what inspired this game. The core idea, as you may have noticed, is that sacrificing objects dear to someone will allow you to reshape their memories of a tragic event. But how far will you go ? And how will you deal with the foes hindering your progress ? This game idea has been in my mind for quite some time, but it took it's final shape through a concept known as the method of loci : basically, that you can strengthen your memories by visualizing certain objects you associate them with. Having that as a basic ingredient, I started to ask myself : what could a world where t…
