- v0.320 Big performance stabilization, and some new options - 14 September 2026
Smoother SessionsThis one is mostly under the hood: performance has been massively smoothed out in the Song Selection scene and hitches during gameplay should be reduced if not gone altogether on most machines.Instrument Heat and note counts filling in on the grid should interrupt you less. In-game, the first combo bump and the first hit sparks should land cleaner instead of hitching the frame. If you’ve been feeling little stutters in those spots, this is the change that fixes that.OptionsA couple of new knobs:Enable On-Screen Crowd (Gameplay) -- on by default. Turn it off if you’d rather keep the stage to yourself.Player Joined Session Notification (Audio → Online Notifications) -- volume for the sound a host hears when someone joins the lobby, separate from the rest of the SFX mix.Fixes and ChangesOn the results breakdown, a handful of Goods or Bads no longer show up as empty dashes.W…
- v0.319 Crowd, all-star update, audio fixes, and world tour progress - 30 August 2026
The Crowd Showed UpSolo play now has a little audience.Keep a combo going and people start filing in on both sides of the stage. The better you play, the more of them show up! They hop on the beat, and when you hit an improv stretch the whole crowd comes out. This is single player only for now (no local multiplayer or online), so it's just you and whoever you've earned.All-Star Follow-UpsI've started teaching All-Star the intended melody on official songs, a primary lead, plus a backup part for when that melody rests instead of leaving every pick to the automatic guess.A first batch is tagged: Ave Maria, In the Hall of the Mountain King, Spooky House, and Summertime Flowers. Most of the other pack in songs were already ok. Custom MIDIs still use the automatic picker, same as before.All-Star also reads a little cleaner around the edges:During a song and on the results screen, you'll see A…
- v0.318 Improved online, improved All-Star, and updates to World Tour mode - 16 August 2026
All-Star TweaksAll-Star's been getting a lot of play, so this pass is about making the handoffs easier to read, song selection reflecting the proper heat, and overall tweaks to which instruments are chosen during All-Star play. It's still what I'd consider experimental so Jam Rating is still turned off for All-Star mode. You'll now see a swap marker on the lane before a handoff, with the incoming instrument, so the change isn't a surprise. The auto-picks are steadier: better about staying on the tune, and swapping at natural breaks instead of jumping around.Song Select - Snappier, ClearerBrowsing and hovering songs should hitch less.Every song button now shows how many playable parts it has, so you can tell a duo from a full band at a glance.Fixed the BPM readout on songs with dummy lead-in bars - the number you see is the real tempo.Hear Yourself Online BetterIn online play, your instrum…
- v0.317 - 25 New Songs Added! Info updates, Experimental All-Star mode and more! - 2 August 2026

- v0.316 - New song, audio overhaul, more polish, bug fixes - 17 July 2026
New Song Added - "Summertime Flowers"A brand new original song has been added to the bundled song list. This one gives the vibes of running through a field of flowers in the summer, or maybe having a picnic, or, I dunno, just summer vibes in general I guess? check it out!Between the Notes, UnlockedYour instrument is no longer locked to it's difficulty between notes. I've added Free Play controls across every difficulty: outside the scored note windows, your instrument now responds as if it's in master mode, so all notes, octaves, and sharps are available! You can warm up, noodle, and jam whenever you feel like it - not only when a note is in front of you.A Richer, Truer Sound with more accurate note mappingThree upgrades make instruments sound fuller, make playing more accurate and comfortable, and closer to how each song was written. The game now captures MIDI volume/dynamics (CC7) data…

- v0.315 Online Jam Sessions net-code overhaul - 13 July 2026
Online Jam Sessions, Solid as a Rock!I spent a lot of time rebuilding a big chunk of the online net-code for reliability. The result: fewer hiccups, cleaner recovery, and way less getting stuck.Big reduction in desyncs and stuck notes for remote players. When something does go wrong on the network, you now get a clear message and smoother recovery instead of a silent hang.Fixed the host being able to confirm a song while a client was still syncing (a classic desync trigger).Fixed an issue where an online song sometimes wouldn't start even though everyone makes it into the song.Squashed spurious connection errors that could interrupt a session for no good reason.Difficulty Panel UpgradesPicking your challenge just got a lot more informative. The difficulty picker now shows each difficulty's Heat rating and note count at a glance.Note counts now also reflect your gameplay assists and diffic…

- v0.313 Jam Rating System Beta, Steam Cloud Sync, and fixes! - 4 July 2026
Jam Rating (Beta)Jam Rating is a new skill rating system - think of it as a running measure of how well you're clearing charts, not just a single-song score. Each chart (song + instrument + difficulty) has a Chart Value based on how demanding it is. Play cleanly and you earn Jam Rating toward that chart; your best play is what counts.Your total Jam Rating shows up on song select, and the instrument grid can show your best JR (and Chart Value) per difficulty so you can see what you've already cleared. You can toggle between viewing high scores and earned JR in the instrument grid by clicking the left stick (default) After a rated run, the end screen plays a short Jam Rating reveal - stats tick up, and your total updates if you beat your best. What's rated (for now):Solo Free Play on official AND custom songs as long as those custom songs have a SongID i.e. they are leaderboard compatibleAm…

- v0.311 Song Selection Screen Overhaul, New Icons, and more! - 20 June 2026
Song Select OverhaulThe song selection scene got a full pass. This is the overhaul that’s been in the works for a while.Browsing songs should feel cleaner and less overwhelming. The list is still the main focus, but you’re not dropped straight into instrument/difficulty picking anymore. The flow is now separated into 5 distinct states and is more gradual:1) Overview Browse the song listSong buttons got a visual refresh, including a slide-out instrument drawer when you hover or focus a track so you can see what’s in the chart at a glance. There’s a new rotating high scores panel that cycles through top leaderboard entries per instrument (when connected to Steam).Hold Up/Down on the song list and navigation speeds up after a brief moment, which helps when you’ve got a big library.2) Detailed ViewGet more details about the song you were just looking atThe active song panel slides in and giv…

New Difficulty - Normal ModeNormal is a new 4-button difficulty that uses:Right / DownX / B on Xbox-style controllersNormal also uses shared icons with Pro mode, so moving up to Pro later should feel a little less jarring.Modifications to the button colors in options carries over to normal mode controls so customize away! The goal here is to give players a better stepping stone between the very approachable Amateur charts and the more demanding Pro charts. You can see in the above example the same section in normal mode is simplified to only use 4 buttons as opposed to pro mode's 8 buttonsSong and Score CompatibilityAll songs work with Normal mode.Scores on other difficulties are unchanged.Normal mode scores are uploaded to the leaderboardsFixes and ChangesFixed an issue with the popup tutorial flow loading the wrong song and instrument in some casesFixed an issue with difficulty select b…

- v0.308 Setlist Builder Online, Venue Mode Expansion, and More Polish - 29 May 2026
This week’s update is focused heavily on getting the Setlist Builder. There’s also been some nice progress on Venue Mode, with more systems now feeding into Vibe Match, especially for custom songs that don’t have a defined genre.New Feature - Setlist Builder in Online Jam SessionsThe Setlist Builder is now available in Online Jam Sessions. That means players can now build out multi-song sets online instead of treating each song as a totally separate performance. This is a big step toward making online sessions feel more like actual shows instead of disconnected picks.Venue Mode - Expanded Vibe Match SupportAdditional song parameters are now eligible for Vibe Match in Venue Mode. This is especially important for custom songs that do not have a defined genre, since previously there was less information to work from when evaluating how well a song fit a venue. What Are Venues? When Venue Mode i…

This week’s update adds two pretty major pieces: a new Band Score tab for multiplayer results, and the first version of the new Setlist Builder for single player (online version coming soon). Both of these are laying groundwork for bigger things to come, especially as more of the upcoming World Tour systems start coming online.New Results Feature - Band Score TabA new Band Score tab has been added to the end-of-song screen. This tab shows:each playertheir individual scoretheir contribution to the overall band scoreThe top panel also shows the total Band % for the whole performance. This should make multiplayer results a lot easier to read at a glance, while also giving a better sense of how each player contributed to the overall performance.New Feature - Setlist BuilderIn single player, you can now build a setlist with up to 5 songs.Instead of returning to song selection after every song,…
- v0.306 New Main Menu, Sound Effects Slider, and Feedback Improvements - 16 May 2026
This week’s update is a lighter one on the player-facing side, but it includes a few nice usability improvements, some behind-the-scenes work for feedback and debugging, and additional hardening for online flow.I’ve also been spending a lot of time getting the foundations of World Tour mode into place, so while this patch is smaller, a lot of work is happening in the background.New Menu Flow - Main Menu in Song SelectA new Main Menu has been added to the song select scene.Instead of having to remember which button opens which menu, the left menu button (traditionally the Select button) now opens a simple menu that contains:OptionsOnlineSubmit FeedbackQuitThere are no changes to the underlying menus themselves - this just provides a clearer, more unified entry point.New Audio Option - Sound Effects SliderA dedicated Sound Effects volume slider has been added under:Options > AudioThis con…
