• Royal Straight Milestone: Complete - 25 September 2026

  Let's cut straight to the chase: me (Teddy) and Fred just got to celebrate the completion of a pretty major milestone: the "Royal Straight"!...Royal Straight?Yes! That's the, uh, internal code name for "time to expand the number of cards in the game", which of course also means the creation of many more wagons and weapons:The in-house build now has 10 more weapon wagons than before, all with five upgrades each, as well as 19 more 'neutral' upgrade cards (think economy and stuff like that)!The increasing amount of cards did have a surprising side-effect of making it a pretty long journey to unlock them all, and to help with that we also changed a bit how the unlocking works! It used to be that you randomly got 1-2 upgrade cards, but now we've instead changed it so you get to pick one of three cards to unlock and add to your "deck"! This way, players get a bit more choice in what they fil…

• Dev Updates, Schedules and Delays - 14 September 2026

  Hey guys!A while back me and Fred had a meeting where we sat down and seriously planned the rest of the development. We laid out all the content we "needed", "wanted", and "would like to have", and pretty soon beads of sweat started to form on our foreheads!Our planning lead to the conclusion that, to make the game we wanted, it'd take until April 2027 (T_T) before we could release it (counting in admin, testing and tuning before launch)!When we set out to make this game last year we were planning to make it a lot smaller. Just a first project to get comfy with Godot (the game engine). However, when people turned out to like it, we upped the ante on certain aspects!We had also completely neglected to add in marketing work into the original calculation, and marketing has turned out to be extremely important in today's super duper competitive indie scene!   We’re super excited to announce that we’ve partnered with IndieArk, an indie game publisher from China!There's a lot that goes into making a game, and a surprising load of that is not making a game!To give me and Fred more time to focus on the nuts and bolts of it all, we've decided to team up with a bona fide publisher! We've been in contact with a bunch of 'em, and among a lot of interesting candidates, IndieArk stood out as being genuinely interested in the game and having a bunch of cool ideas about how to get it out there.They will be supporting Choo Choo Defenders across marketing, community management, and more, helping us bring the game in its best shape to even more players worldwide.Choo-Choo!

• The Demo is Updated! - 20 July 2026

  Demo Update: v0.2(What does v0.2 even mean..?)While many people seem to like the demo - which makes us very happy of course - we've also been receiving a lot of feedback about possible improvements to make!Over the past few weeks, we've added some of the more commonly requested features into the game, as well as improving on some visual aspects that have been lagging behind.Here are the major changes:Train Info MenuIt's easy to forget what upgrades you've picked, and how many passengers a cart can have! To make this easier, there's a new menu option called "Train", in which you can see a list and information about the upgrades you've picked!Retry Last WaveSometimes, you've made a slight mistake with devastating consequences! • Choo Choo Defenders - Now In More Languages! - 15 June 2026

  We've been looking at which non-English speaking countries have been playing the demo, and found some that stood out! To give players from these countries a smoother ride, we've decided to make the game available in the following languages:Chinese (Simplified), Korean, Japanese, German, Spanish (Latin America), French, Italian, Portuguese (Brazilian), and Russian.We hope players speaking these languages will enjoy the game even more now! :)

• The Choo Choo Defenders Demo is live! - 19 May 2026

  The Choo Choo Defenders Demo is leaving the station!It's now possible to download and play the demo of the game: head on over to the Demo Store Page and give it a whirl!How long is the Demo? What does it showcase?The demo is quite generous and lets you play the first world of the game (six levels)! It will introduce the basic mechanics of the game, includes three different conductors, meta progression, and a bunch of wagons and upgrades.It should give you roughly 1 hour of playtime!Will my saves from the Demo carry over to the full game?Yup!
