- Weird Days: Job Simulator 2026 Reached 68,000+ Visits! - 6 September 2026
GastroComic here.A few days ago, I was going through my usual routine. You know: pretending to work, checking that nobody notices me, then getting back to work by pretending to work again. And then I saw a number: 68,000.At first, I thought I might have gone a little too hard on the beer, so I checked again. Nope. My system wasn’t malfunctioning. The first edition of Weird Days: Job Simulator, the indie festival we organized on Steam, had reached more than 68,000 visits. The idea behind the festival was simple: bring together some of the strangest job simulators we could find, all in one place. For this first edition, 102 indie games joined Weird Days: Job Simulator, featuring unlikely professions, questionable workplaces, suspicious employers, and a whole lot of wonderfully weird ideas. Our goal was to bring talented indie developers together, help players discover original games, and mak…
- Crimson Furnace joined the Anthro Festival! - 6 September 2026
FURRY, HORNED, SCALED, AND FEATHERED FRIENDS.Welcome to the tavern.GastroComic here, your humble server and more-or-less willing employee of the Black Maw tavern. I’ve seen all kinds of customers come through these doors: big ones, small ones, furry ones, horned ones… and things with far too many teeth. And the smells my ventilation system refuses to talk about them.In Crimson Furnace, the Black Maw tavern is a true crossroads of the megacity. We serve drinks, cook meals, deal with some rather questionable customers, and above all, welcome all kinds of anthropomorphic species from every corner of the city.So naturally, when the Anthro Festival opened its doors to us, it was hard to imagine an event that could fit our universe any better.A huge thank you to the organizers for celebrating creatures in all their shapes and forms. In our world, they’re literally part of the scenery, the stor…
- [Devlog #1] — Boat Navigation (Part.1) - 1 July 2026
Mangrove ExplorationWe worked on one of the first exploration systems in Crimson Furnace: boat navigation through the mangrove. The goal is not only to move the boat from one point to another, but to make the journey feel atmospheric, physical, and slightly mysterious.Boat ControllerThe boat is designed to be simple to control, while still feeling alive and physical. At this stage, the player can move forward, turn left, and turn right with a basic boat controller. The system is still in progress, but it already includes several layers of movement to avoid making the boat feel too rigid.Yaw, Roll and PitchWe added different navigation behaviours such as yaw, roll, and pitch. Yaw controls the rotation of the boat when it changes direction. Roll adds a side tilt during turns, making the boat feel like it is reacting to the water and the player’s input. Pitch is more subtle, but it helps re…

HELLO FROM THE TAVERN.GastroComic here. Today, I was doing my usual duties.Carrying trays. Checking barrels. Pretending to work. Then I saw the number: 1,000 wishlists! At first, I thought it was a bug. I refreshed the page again and again. Then tavern keeper Butcher told me to stop, or he would kick my ass.But it's real. Crimson Furnace has reached 1,000 wishlists on Steam. This is huge for us!It means more travelers are discovering the game. More suspicious customers are watching from the entrance. And more players are curious to experience tavern management, Butcher’s questionable dishes, and the mission of the Order of the Echomancers. So thank you.Really.Every wishlist helps Crimson Furnace gain visibility on Steam. It helps the project grow, reach more players, and gives us one more reason to keep cooking new features behind the scenes. We are still working on the game. Some systems ar…

Hey travelers, suspicious customers, and future regulars of the Black Maw! GastroComic speaking. Official waiter, tray carrier, and witness to several minor culinary disasters. I also have the highly functional pleasure of announcing that Crimson Furnace is taking part in Steam Medieval Fest 2026. Yes. Us too 👀. I know. Prestigious! For those discovering us for the first time, Crimson Furnace is a tavern simulator set in a cozy weird world that is both medieval and cyberpunk. A place that feels warm, unsettling, noisy at times, and generally unfit for decisions made on an empty mind. You play as Gus Butcher, tavern keeper of the Black Maw. Your mission is simple to understand, much less simple to survive. You will have to cook, manage the tavern, bewitch your customers, and complete the missions given to you, day after day. All of it in pursuit of a path far greater than a simple life be…

- Bug Log of GastroComic #1: the radio - 11 February 2026
WELCOME TO THE TAVERN. This is GastroComic speaking. Official waiter of the Black Maw and certified comedian (self-certified). Functional robot at 60% (the remaining 40% is currently glitching. Please stand by.) I hope you’ve been doing well since the Molossian Toad outbreak. Today, I need to talk to you about something very important. Well… important for you. What was it again? … Oh right. The Radio in Crimson Furnace. Attention. THIS IS NOT JUST DECORATION. (I tested it by pressing the button. And guess what: it actually works.) So don’t do what I did and pour beer on it. During your runs, Furnace Radio is with you. It talks. It crackles. And it helps you in many ways like… uh… Oh yes: refining your skills, making difficult decisions. There is only one station, run by the resistance. So avoid blasting it too loud. Otherwise you might get your ass kicked.(This is not a metaphor.) Ah. I…
- Breaking news! - 10 February 2026
Today, we’re revealing this stunning portrait of one of the two iconic hosts of Furnace Radio. Behind those razor-sharp teeth, his fiery humor, and all that lava… hey, you still with us? Good. Because beneath the flames and the growls lies a genuine softness. Don’t worry: despite appearances, he does know how to have a heart of gold…well, depending on who he’s dealing with. During your runs in Crimson Furnace, and thanks to your radio, you’ll be able to hear his gently grating, unmistakable voice. Lava dragon and Furnace Radio host, you’ll get to know him. And I’m pretty sure you’ll end up liking him. Don’t forget to add Crimson Furnace to your wishlist, it might help soothe his sour stomach. Credits Artist: Darko

- 🎉 Last day of the Shop Keeper Event – Crimson Furnace is in the lineup! - 15 November 2025
Last day of the Shop Keeper Event hosted by Rogue Duck Interactive and Gamersky Games! The line-up of games has been truly amazing. Check out the showcase here: 👉Shop keeper Event Go have a look, you won’t regret it — and we’re proud to have been part of it. This was the first time our game was publicly visible on Steam, and that means a lot to us. On top of that, Crimson Furnace was featured in Steam’s “Halloween Vibes” selection during the event, which is huge for a tiny indie tavern sim like ours. Huge thanks to the organizers for selecting our offbeat tavern sim, mixing dark humor, cozy fireplace vibes, and small horrific touches.💛 It motivates us even more to cook up little nuggets of gameplay and make a game you’ll be proud to say: “I was there from the beginning.” As Gus Butcher, our tavern keeper, likes to say: “Get your ass back to the tavern while the wyvern stew is still ho…
