And we're opening a public beta, so if you're happy to jump in before everything is fully balanced, you can play it today. Also, in addition to what we already announced: environmental challenges, bigger maps, terraforming, and skyscrapers, we're adding a few extra features we're really crazy about:Build your own brownstone blocksSince in 2.0 the grid changes from 20m to 10m we adapted our smallest apartment unit the „townhouse block“ to smaller units „townhouse“. And we also developed a new style for it, inspired by New York City: the brownstone, with its iconic 19th-century architecture! But if you still prefer the old colorful Victorian vibe that 1.x had, you can still build it by selecting the "Frisco" style. With…
- Version 1.14.8 - 12 September 2026
Companies with lots of cash now take the risk of going through recessions, and they avoid closing as much as they can by just waiting or cutting staff in order to keep runway until recession ends so they can start hiring / saving cash again. Fixed a bug in the requirement for starting companies that prevented some citizens to start firms even if they had enough money to fund it. When a business is vacant because minimum wage is too high for unit economics to make profit in that sector, there is a special label on those buildings.
- Version 1.14.7 - 9 September 2026
Fixed the casino entrepreneurs' AI so it weighs the initial investment properly before founding a casino company, instead of going bankrupt right away Fixed the casinos' Sin Tax calculation and how it interoperates with the regular taxes, avoiding double charges Fixed how parking fees are charged: they are now accounted for more accurately Removed the misleading "Private Building Construction" item from Budgets: only recurring budget items are reported now, not one-off investments
- Version 1.14.6 - 6 September 2026
Housing quality is now visible: every home shows its tier (Basic, Standard or Premium) in the building panel and in the build menu's hover tooltip Improved hiring/firing performance in the simulation to avoid slow performance on > 20k population cities

- Microlandia 2.0: Soon in public beta - 26 August 2026
We are hard at work on the next major version of Microlandia to make the game deeper and also expand the boundaries of what kind of cities can be built. It is also a step towards a game more focused on natural resources that can be extracted from the map and their trade-offs. Hills and valleysThe map is no longer flat and has height: build neighborhoods on the hills, or a downtown in the valley. Also, new terraforming tools allow you to flatten, raise, or lower the terrain, and the new pond tool allows you to make beautiful pockets of water in your parks. Larger maps, smaller gridAll scenarios are now twice the size. In addition, Salina is launching, the new scenario which is a large peninsula surrounded by the sea. Besides the larger maps, we have reduced the map grid from 20x20 meters to 10x10 meters. That means buildings, trees, and every other map element can be placed more precisel…
- Version 1.14.4 - 25 August 2026
Sin tax policy: when enabled, adds a specific tax rate for gambling businesses (casinos and race tracks) Hotfix for a bug in farm company founding and hiring, that caused many vacant farms or farms not hiring, despite having sufficient demand Fine tuned the casinos revenue model Improved UI tooltips and labels to better reflect the current state of a sector demand
- Version 1.14.3 - 24 August 2026
New businesses now check whether their sector has room for another seller before opening, instead of founding blind into an already-saturated market and slowly bleeding out A company that can't sell anything shrinks its staff quickly instead of holding a full payroll for months before a sudden mass layoff The census now distinguishes between citizens leaving the city because they lost their jobs, from ones leaving because rent was genuinely unaffordable
- Version 1.14.2 - 22 August 2026
Bus fares are no longer charged to riders who died or left the city partway through the month. Public transport ticket income was overstated by roughly 1 to 2% in a settled city, and by considerably more in a month with heavy turnover, so the fare line now shows what your riders actually paid. Citizen balances are unaffected: that money was never taken from anyone, it was only credited to the city.
- Version 1.14.1 - 14 August 2026
Hotfix for the drag-and-build gesture for residential buildings sometimes silently failing without placing anything
- Microlandia 1.14: The Construction Update - 13 August 2026
Version 1.14 is all about building. New tools make construction more comfortable, the tools you already use got better, and new buildings give you real control over where your city's commercial life happens. We also wanted this version to open up different kinds of cities: cities that keep the flow of cars under control, or that gather their shopping into centers worth walking. One more thing before the tour: 1.14 is the last update in the 1.x line. Next is Microlandia 2.0, and we have big surprises in store that we don't want to spoil yet. And yes, it will be a free update. New buildingsPromenades. The most important change in this version is pedestrian streets. Promenades let you build walkable boulevards, and with them town centers: you can set apart the areas of your city that are about shopping and strolling. Almost every building can now be placed on a promenade instead of a street…

- Version 1.13.22 - 2 August 2026

- Version 1.13.21 - 1 August 2026
New „Human Resources“ panel where the salaries of public workers can be changed and also an overview of the whole city staff payroll can be seen New OST track by Pablo Rubio Fix problem with bus lines when playing with game controller Nerfed the ransomware asking price by 20% New setting allows to override the cuttoff time of stats from 10 to 50 or 100 years. Fix to stats UI not rendering correctly on ultrawide monitors Fixes some tooltip issues on 150% scale Fix to the neighborhood generator tool sometimes not connecting t-junctions for roads to cul-de-sacs Performance improvements.
- Version 1.13.20 - 25 July 2026
Neighborhood generator: when building single family homes, you can draw a rectangle and a neighborhood block with roads will be generated. Perfect for quickly building suburban areas. We improved how we show street and lot parking in the cities, more reliably close to what is actually happening in the sim. Full parking lots and streets now show as such Fixes to the fire department dispatches, now multiple units can work on the same fire and the full fire departments of the city are immediately dispatched when the fire escalates for more than one tick. Likewise, we are better at showing traffic and heavy traffic where the simulation is calculating slow trips and deadlocks Car owners that can’t pay parking/license fee prices and don’t have viable public transport leave the city. Fixed a problem with data points in stats not accessible when UI scale is not 100%
- Version 1.13.19 - 24 July 2026
We now show a simplified version of the city at the farthest zoom levels with less detail and less triangles, which is ~20x faster Simplified buildings can be disabled in settings (very useful for screenshotting your entire city with full detail) Improved the rendering of cars, flowers, street lamps, contributing greatly to better FPS We now try to recover corrupted city files when loading, with minimal progress loss, instead of throwing an error and having to manually recover the city from the backups folder.
- Version 1.13.18 - 23 July 2026
Improved the traffic and public transport maps to better show where are the buildings with access failures due to traffic jams, public transport issues or disconnected roads Improved AI of companies so they make better decisions on when to grow and rent bigger buildings/office space Add „hard to reach“ indicator to companies that are have production problems because of traffic / public transport Improved for company founder AI allowing more diverse buildings from being rented instead of the absolute cheapest but likely saturated in sector demand. Improved the database compaction cycle so city save files are not bloated (and thus avoiding unnecessary extra work at the storage drive) Better texts in the stats panel. Hotfix for a problem with the game not rendering correctly after changing resolution / monitor while playing.
- Version 1.13.17 - 20 July 2026

Hotfix for the company founding AI that sometimes was not starting up buildings, leaving them vacant Hotfix for tutorial getting stuck at the civic development screen
